Le Jardin du Roi
Always a great experience... food, ambiance, and service.
The food, atmosphere and service was excellent. The restaurant makes you feel like you are eating at home. A real family feel.
My family went there for my husband's birthday breakfast. The food was delicious and service was outstanding. The owners sent our table a complimentary dessert for my husbands birthday. It made the morning very special. I would go back again , but this time to try dinner!
Been here before for brunch really good, when we tried first time for dinner it was really bland mussels the broth was super watery and no flavor and lobster salad keep asking for dressing and adding salt! The waiter was very nice would give more star just for service!
My wife and I ate here for her birthday. The meal was excellent and I would recommend the restaurant.
Once again a very enjoyable meal with a welcoming host and amiable waitstaff. You can always count of this restaurant for a pleasurable experience.
We found the menu varied and enticing, with plenty of choices for non-meat eaters. The portions were generous, quickly and pleasantly served. The maitre d’ was welcoming and came to the table a couple of times to make sure that everything was okay- she remained gracious throughout our time there.
We loved our meal and service! We’re already excited to go back.
Local neighborhood place -- always a winner! Food is excellent.
Their sole was delicious and fresh. Great salads! Excellent service
This is a favorite of mine always amazing
Le Jardin du Roi is a neighborhood gem! It is my favorite local restaurant for dinner with friends.
Food and service were excellent as always! Owner recommended the Eggs Benedict with sausage which was very high quality and delicious - not your ordinary frozen sausage!!
Great food, great service. Always a treat
This was the perfect spot for our mother/daughter brunch date. My buckwheat crêpe filled with scrambled eggs and ham was reminiscent of those we savored in Paris!
My daughter’s breakfast tacos were equally scrumptious along with the most delicious guacamole that we’ve ever tasted.
P. S. Be sure to order the freshly squeezed orange juice with breakfast. Delicious!
Very disappointing. Holds itself out as a bistro when it’s really just a diner, with a bizarrely eclectic menu. Bread and butter was great. But beet and endive salads were truly not memorable — boring and no creativity. The hanger steak was a beaten flat sandwich steak smothered in a room temp, gloppy mushroom sauce. The salmon was basic while the sole almondine tasted like boring sole with almonds. On a bed or risotto that was an odd combination of almost creamy and crunchy. No flair anywhere. We skipped coffee and dessert so maybe those were better. What a bummer.
Had read about this spot for quite a while but it is not on my beaten path when going out. I wanted a nice spot with hubby and BFF for a New Year's brunch, and to my surprise they had available tables. SO - off we went and we had a great time. Staff is so friendly, cozy seating but not on top of each other. Eclectic menu with breakfast till 4 PM so almost like a high-class diner! Food nicely presented though could have used more seasoning . We enjoyed it so much overall that we will be looking for reasons to return.
Fresh food, great service, very friendly environment . Will always be your customer
Our neighborhood gem! Happy Holidays to Joe and all of your terrific staff!
An old favorite. Never disappoints
Birthday Waiter was lovely. Food was delicious.
Food was amazing! Great atmosphere.Server was excellent!
Love this place
Interesting menu. I had the curry mussels, huge bowl and very tasty. Delicious Cabernet. We were the last ones to leave. Staff was very attentive and didn’t rush us out.
Great food. Great service. A little noisy and tight
We went for a family get-together. Our meals were excellent.
Great as always
We went for restaurant week. It was ok. Not worth another trip from New Rochelle
I was expecting a French bistro. I didn’t see much of anything French and the waiter had no idea what pastis was.
We stopped in for restaurant week. My fiancee has mentioned wanting to try Le Jardin du Roi several times so I figured now was the time to go. We both started with Escargot, and also both got Bouillabaisse as an entree. Solid escargot, and not common enough to find around so that was a delight. The bread it came with to sop up the butter/sauce was warm and really nice. The Bouillabaisse came loaded with seafood and we both enjoyed it. For dessert, I got a decadent chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, while my fiancee got Apple Cinnamon Bread Pudding. I was jealous of her choice, which wasn't overly sweet or rich and finished the meal nicely. We did not drink this evening, but the wine list had many good options and the cocktail menu featured a variety of classics. Overall, a really positive experience.
We love this special place in town. I would like to appeal to the diners to stop planting yourself there all day/night. The restaurant is not your parlor to spend the evening in. So many times we go here the women talk for a long time, don't look at the menu, then shoo the waiter away saying they are not ready. It's really rude! There are customers with reservations behind you. Please be more respectful , and talk in a lower tone of voice. The tables are close together and not everyone wants to hear your life's story. It ruins the experience for others. Thank you!
This is a fabulous restaurant that is consistently awesome. Both the food and service are great. I will continue to recommend this restaurant.
I was disappointed in the two classic French restaurant dishes I ordered: snails and Coq au Vin.
What can I say?
The chicken roast was very dry and not of good quality. This quality could have been found for $4.99 in a supermarket. Why should one pay $28 for it? The place looked very tired and the waiter was very unfriendly. His attitude was as if he was angry with something. Not going there again or recommending anyone.
Felt rushed, aside from that it was very good.
Always great food and service!
the menu is not very French. had the hangar steak. it was greasy and tasteless. The french fries were bland.
Had lunch with a good friend - Service was delightful - Salad nicoise with fresh tuna very good
Outside seating delightful in nice weather
Outside location is great except for ongoing road work that seems may continue into 2020.
Excellent food and service. Very consistent over the years.
VERY mediocre cuisine. For a restaurant with a French name it offers hardly any French dishes. French Onion soup with no flavor. $35 fresh Tuna main course very bland.
Skip this one unless you’re going for a weekend Croque Madame, then again anyone can grill a ham and cheese and put a fried egg on top.
