Lightfoot Restaurant
Wonderful setting for a fantastic meal out. We were late booking for Valentine’s Day weekend, so had an early seating at 5pm. My husband ordered the special pork belly appetizer and lobster with lobster risotto, and I had the jumbo lump crab cake with tomato thyme rice. So. Delicious. We also shared a fabulous ice cream cake special with cappuccinos and a couple of rounds of drinks. Service was friendly and attentive, Tim was very cool and looked after us well. Atmosphere was buzzy, setting is beautiful, and we will go here every time we’re in Leesburg! Highly recommend.
Loved the rustic elegance of the restaurant. The food and service was excellent. Will be back again for sure. Highly recommend!
Very classy establishment. HasDC upscale feel in Leesburg. Managers are very attentive to the clientele as are the servers. One of my favorite go to restaurants!
Selected it for a special night and was not disappointed, not usually a desert person but they convinced me otherwise and so glad they did.
What a classy place! Love the ambiance. The architecture. The service was top notch. Love that I wasn't rushed through my meal. The food was absolutely delicious! Can't wait to go back!!
My wife and I try to get to Lightfoot every January 21st, our anniversary. We were thinking of where to have lunch on Valentine’s Day. Where else but Lightfoot, of course?
Last we went was a couple of years ago, so we were really looking forward to going again. I will state we went on a Sunday night.... it was not busy at all. Menu hadn’t change from a couple years ago, really. My husband and I both ordered the Braised Pork Shank, it was delicious. Once we both got to the meat closer to the bone though we noticed both of our pork shanks were cold. I’m not talking cooked off from being hot, but just taken out of the refrigerator kind of cold. The waiter talked to the chef and they were willing to heat them both up. No one from the kitchen or management came by our table.
Our waiter, Fred was wonderful. We went to Lightfoot to celebrate my Husbands birthday. Was a great way to cerebrate.
We had high hopes for Lightfoot that simply didn't transpire.
There seemed to be a lag in service and at some point halfway through our meal, our waiter was replaced with the bartender without any notice or explanation. We sat at table near the rear of the restaurant and had to listen to a series of very loud and inappropriate conversations taking place between the bartender and Wait staff. It was so loud that it drowned out the conversations we were trying to have at our table.
We did not go to dinner to hear their graphic opinions on current events or reality television celebrities.
The gentleman who appeared to be the Manager paid no attention yet found it appropriate to poublicly reprimand another staff member for something far less egregious.
The food was lackluster overall. First and last visit.
The server was great but we reserved a stand up at the bar and it was full so we had to sit at a table. We were only ordering drinks and I felt bad that we were occupying one of his tables in his section. It was “happy hour “ but after getting 2 glasses of wine and 2 beers the cost was over $50 + tip. So I spent $60 without ordering any food.
I will check pricing next time for sure.
Great food but the restaurant got too busy and we hardly saw our server. However there was someone on staff constantly checking to see when folks were done their dinner so they could flip the table for the next customer. It made you feel uncomfortable and rushed.
Amazing food, great service! The French onion soup was the best I’ve ever had
Excellent food and excellent service made for an enjoyable evening!
We went to dinner for our anniversary. From the time we walked in the door to the time we left they recognized our anniversary and made us feel special.
The service was on point. Our server was knowledgeable and personable with fantastic recommendations based on our preferences.
The food was gorgeous and even more delicious. The French onion soup is probably the best I have ever had and all French onion soups in the future will be compared against this one. Also the oysters Rockefeller were to-die-for! If you don’t get cotton candy at dessert you should ask for it. This is such a clever extra touch for the meal with a flavor that doesn’t taste artificial. I could not stop eating it. The menu has a variety of options to suit anyone’s needs and the chef was gracious with special dietary restrictions.
The restaurant itself is gorgeous. From the outside it is a very non assuming building but I literally had a jaw drop moment when I walked in. The ceilings-spectacular. The decor-incredible. The tables-not overly crowded with tables.
Do yourself a favor and try this place. You won’t be disappointed.
I went to this restaurant with a date we both loved this place it's gluten-free selections, wine menu, entree menu, and the whole experience was absolutely perfect.
Server was not attentive to our table, food menu did not provide many breakfast options on the brunch menu as the sample had posted on website. Ambiance was okay maybe for a dinner but not for daytime. Despite making a reservation, still had to wait for the table.
Excellent entrees and service ... needs a coat room!
Everything from the service to the food quality was outstanding. The only unfortunate situation was that there was a party of 10 people next to us in the smaller room; many of which were very loud and obnoxious. Our table could tell they were getting on the nerves of the wait staff as well.
Everything was good - it would have been 5 stars but the chef was late to the restaurant and we had to wait because of it. This is not the first time that has happened. The chef is one of the owners and needs to care about things like that.
Creative, delicious food, in ample portions (both my date and I took some home).
Great, fun ambiance; nicely-decorated, converted old-fashioned bank with some impressive bank architectural features still intact.
The noise level was moderate-to-high when the restaurant was full. That said, very much enjoyed the live musical trio (?) who played classic movie-theme songs and similar, a very nice accompaniment to a sophisticated dinner.
Price was typical for a nice restaurant in the D.C. metro area; good value for a very nice evening.
Definitely will return and will recommend to others.
Lightfoot never disappoints. We love the Atomic crab cake, but they have a number of options that are equally good. Great wine list and a very attentive staff.
Jonathan was wonderful. Everything was perfect as usual 🥰
Terrific food, fantastic service and very nice ambiance.
I was disappointed of service and
He was rushing and asked for special, he gave us a held page paper to read.
and no paper towels in men’s bathrooms. Even I mentioned to one of the manager, still no paper towels after 25 minutes.
The service was great. The environment was ideal for our special event.
Lightfoot has been a favorite for my wife and I for years. Always great service and great food.
This is a charming restaurant in a rehabbed Richardsonian bank. The food and serve were excellent and the space alone is worth the visit.
This place was recommended to us, and this was our first time there. Food and service were great, however, we got there at 5:45, and at 6:45 we were told we had to leave. Our waiter said they had the section reserved for another party. Keep in mind I had this reserved for myself at 5:45. We asked if we could get free drink to go to the bar, for being forced to move, and we were told no. With all that said, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth after you spend $125 in a restaurant, then told you have to leave. Because of that I would not recommend this place.
The food was good. The steak was excellent. The only shortcoming was cold potatoes. We were unknowingly seated in an area where our Waiter was also the bartender. That resulted in some awkward and delayed service. I would return because the food was very good with the noted exception above. I would also make sure that your table does have its own wait staff if you are seated in one of the booths adjacent to the bar area. Very nice atmosphere in a lovely historic building.
Recently had lunch @ Lightfoot for Husbands birthday. The place is classy . Our waiter looked /acted professional with a sense of humor :) The prices were good and hats off to the chef, the food was fabulous! Take the time to visit, You wont be sorry! We will return again! LOVE LIGHTFOOT ♡♡♡♡♡♡
Overall outstanding food - great service. Very enjoyable experience every visit. Thank you.
Dominic provided great service. The Lightfoot is always wonderful but especially when decorated for the holidays.
The holiday decorations are worth the trip! The food was amazing! The service was a bit slow but the waiter explained that a large party was going on upstairs and slammed the kitchen. That was fine with us, we were enjoying the ambiance and the beautiful architecture of the room. Great place to eat and will definitely return!
The kitchen took forever with the food. Appetizers took 30 minutes, then main course was almost an hour after completing appetizers. Then, when we attempted to discuss the situation with the manager, he was very rude, dismissive, and not willing to hear that we were not satisfied for the amount if money we were spending. He basically asked for s business card and told us that his manager would put something in the mail for us. Absolutely ridiculous and not acceptable.
Food was very good, especially french onion/mushroom soup
Delicious food fantastic ambience. Couldn't give 5 stars for service because it took our waiter a long time just to get bread out to us. But after this minor goof up, service improved and our dinner was awesome. Returning for another meal in two weeks.
I was recommend by a co-worker to go here for my Birthday. I had never been here, and decided to give it a shot. I thought the food was amazing, and I really like how you put cotton candy with your desserts. This is a great place for a birthday celebration!!!
Ambient decor...warm and inviting...lots of dark wood...built in 1888! Crab soup...savory, chock-full of jumbo crab meat. Lobster and shrimp pasta with rosemary cream sauce....was beyond divine! Miniature sticky buns offered as an appetizer were yummy. Dirty martini...very good! Well worth the drive from Clifton!
Attentive service. Gluten free items are coded on menu. Brunch items fuse Southern with Asian. Bold colorful Christmas decorations were still up in early January. I’ll definitely go back to explore the menu.
The service was great but the food quality was mediocre. I ordered the special of the evening which was steak and crab cake. I ordered the stake medium and it received it well done and extremely dry. Very disappointing.
