Really nice! Everything we tried was excellent, and they have lots of space to keep tables socially distanced.
Came for dinner; seated out on the patio. We had the prime rib and the roast chicken. Chicken is brined and a little too salty for my taste (at home my brine is more balanced sweet and salty). Serving generous of half a chicken; brought leftovers home. Prime rib + Bordelaise was excellent, but spouse loved my mashed potatoes so I took his roasted fingerlings in trade. The mashed potatoes here are very flavorful, and not overrich with butter/cream so you really taste a good potato, instead of just dairy mush. Always love the fried cheese curds (housemade fresh cheese) and service is excellent. Desserts are on the sweet side, just okay. Outstanding beer list!
Our 3rd time at Longbranch total, 2nd time for brunch. It is always fantastic! Love the food, the outdoor, heated patio, friendly service. A definite hidden gem
We love this place. We've eaten here three times and each time has been fantastic. Good energy, good drinks, great food. A little pricey but that's the Bay Area now.

Delightful server. Delicious meal. We had brunch out on covered area. Could have been a bit more on the plate or a slice of toasted baguette. We’ll be back.
The service is limited. The server did not visit our table very often. But, the food is usually good and the kitchen is consistent.
First time and what a pleasant surprise. Great tasty food with large portions. Service was wonderful with Aeishsa. She gave us great recommendations. We will for sure be coming back.

Longbranch saloon is our favorite brunch place at the moment. Plenty of great choices on the menu and a cozy spot to hangout.
Longbranch is a hidden gem. Went for Berkeley Restaurant Week 2020 and was totally blown away. Started with deep fried homemade pickles. Amazing batter and dip. Course 1 of the prix fixe menu: Warm Brussels sprouts salad (generous enough to be an entree!) and Brioche tart with ricotta-goat cheese and marinated wild mushrooms. Course 2: Wild mushroom with homemade herb linguine and Duck confit risotto with goat cheese. Dessert: Bananas Foster (bread pudding with caramelized banana, banana ice cream and bourbon caramel) and Caramelized pear cake with cardamom-buttermilk ice cream. Service was relaxed, attentive, and friendly. Saloon decor, like the other half of the place, with lots of wood and twinkly lights to brighten things up. Comfy romantic... Definitely going back!
Excellent food and value. Scrumptiously delicious. I had a warm brussel sprout salad oh, wild mushroom pasta, and banana bread pudding with two special Manhattan's. Everything was out of this world
One of our favorite spots for casual "date night." The space is warm and inviting. The drink menu is creative and seasonal changes keep things interesting. The fried pickles and cheese curds are to die for! All the servers we have had have been friendly and knowledgeable. Service is quick. The food is elevated comfort food, with options to accommodate a lot of different interests and preferences.

I love coming here for brunch. The service is consistently excellent. The porch is a nice place to eat no matter the weather. I am especially fond of the fried chicken benedict and their bloody mary. The fried pickles are very good, but I wish they were sliced instead of spears and that there were more of them.
My partner and I went to Longbranch for our 10th year anniversary. The waitress made us feel special and comfortable. She was attentive to our needs and did not overwhelm us with checking in and she did not leave us wondering if she would ever check in. We had oysters, the shrimp flan (delicious, with hints of lemon). I had the trout and my partner had the prime rib which was also delicious.
So yummy. Particularly special was our server who came from behind the bar (we are at a communal bench) and made our evening excellent. They were attentive, personable and knowledgeable. I should have gotten their name. Bad on me. Next time.
We love Longbranch. The food is delicious and prices are reasonable. I loved how diners were casually dressed on New Year’s Eve. A very comfortable space, with an indoor patio, long bar and a dining room. One of our two favorite restaurants in Berkeley.

Very good meal. Great service. Experience only marred by a break in to our car which was parked out front. Not that it is the fault of the restaurant but vandalism has become more of a problem in Berkeley.

Brunch was good but not great this time. The Reuben, which had been outstanding on a prior visit, had too-salty pastrami, minimal cheese and pickled cabbage, and no dressing so it was dry. It was the only big fail, however; the steak and eggs, grits, and fried cheese curds were excellent as always. Service was okay but a level below what we've come to expect here. Still, Long Branch is one of our fav places and we'll hope to see it back to its usual high level the next time.
We were a party of 4 with reservations on a Friday evening. The place was hopping but we were seated in short order even though one in our party had yet to arrive. We enjoyed a ling cod surrounded in beans and chorizo, a pumpkin risotto dish, and a pork chop served over a unique bread pudding. Each dish was not only delicious and filling but each was a distinctive take on common dishes. The wine and the drinks were also top shelf. The wine has a great price point as well. We will be back soon.
We have been to this restaurant many times. The only recommendation is for there to a few more vegetarian choices on the menu. I usually order one of the salads that are very good, but a few more possibilities would be welcome.
Our feelings are that Longbranch is a great place to go for a nice dinner. The restaurant is much bigger than it looks from the street. We were seated in an area that might be outdoors in warmer weather. There were heaters in the ceiling that kept the area toasty. We split the unusual gem salad with persimmons & smoked paprika dressing, had two mains and split the apple tart dessert. The salad was adventurous and would be good for people who are interested in unusual flavor combinations. I had the orecchiette pasta with chard & beef - fabulous, generous serving, and my partner had the pork chop, also quite tasty. We decided to split the pasta and take home the pork chop for sandwiches. If our apple tart was any indication of the desserts, you would be shortchanging yourselves not to order one. The tart was heavenly. We will return and would recommend this place to anyone. Didn't rate five stars, as I think those are reserved for the top top restaurants. It was a good experience, nice & efficient servers, and unusual/delicious food.

My small party had a couple of people with hearing issues, so we hoped for the enclosed, outdoor patio (where it's a bit quieter). Longbranch had a server out there who needed to go home because she wasn't feeling well, so they were going to close the patio and concentrate people in the restaurant. When they understood our situation, they seated us out there anyway, got a great waiter to serve us, made sure the heat lamps were keeping us warm -- and brought us a complementary dessert with a candle for our birthday person.
AND the food was amazing. Simply delicious.
We can't say enough good things about this restaurant and its wonderful staff.
Had a great meal but you have to pay too much to feel you’ve had a satisfying one - i.e., paying over $32. for a steak that has no side dish. Sides all have to be ordered. Okay - except a burger. You get fries with it. This was particularly hard to “swallow” after being in the south of France last month and getting incredible meals that included sides of bread and vegetables. But we’re not in France and that’s the reality in these parts these days unfortunately. I would love this place to be my neighborhood go to but ain’t gonna happen. I’d recommend it for special occasions only or if you have deep pockets. As it is places near me in Emeryville and elsewhere - as we know - are dying fast given the high cost of running a restaurant these days. A most sad state of affairs.
On our third visit to Longbranch for brunch we had another delightful meal. The enclosed patio lets in lots of light and tables are not too close. Our server was helpful and fun and the breakfast choices are elevated beyond typical diner fare without being too out there. Recommend the short rib hash, the fried chicken benedict and an extra side of house-smoked bacon with anything!
