We dined on a weeknight. Restaurant was not too crowded. Service was wonderful, very attentive, but servers did not hover, which I greatly appreciate.
Great way to celebrate my husbands birthday. Great service and food.
The food is fabulous as always. The wait staff was phenomenal! Thank you.
Delicious!! Excellent service!! Would definitely return for a special occasion.
Always can count on a great meal and outstanding service.
Meal was wonderful. Our waiter Zach was equally wonderful!
Wonderful experience. Dinner was excellent. I was able to order a vegan dish with no problem. Have never had a problem at this place. Love the friendly atmosphere.
We have been dining at Luciano’s for 25 plus years, on average 10-12 times a year, and this was our first less than perfect dining experience. We were walked through most of the restaurant to a table for 2. The table was so wobbly they had to put a wedge under it. The noise level made it challenging to have a conversation. Most of the adjoining tables were for larger parties.
The food as usual was wonderful. The selection was extensive. The seafood ciopino was fresh and flavorful. My husband’s chicken scarpiello was delicious. We were very disappointed to see the dessert menu changed and the limoncello bomba was gone.
Our service was poor. We waited for drinks, the server never stopped back to see if everything was prepared as we liked. He often would be at adjoining tables and not even glance our way. The glass of wine and soda we ordered when we ordered entrees arrived as we were finishing them, after we had to flag him down to check on them. He plopped a tiramisu on top of our to go containers and said sorry you had to wait for the drinks. This is not usual service for Luciano’s. We are hoping the next time our visit is similar to previous visits.
Great food and great service. Highly recommended!!
My husband and I went, for the first time, to Luciano’s. It was a phenomenal experience from beginning to end. Everything we tried was amazing! It was my husbands 50th birthday and we have six children so we do not get out too often. This was a wonderful choice for us to have an exceptional dinner where we felt like family. We will absolutely be going back.
The service was excellent from when we pulled up in our car until the time we left. The food was all prepared to perfection and I can’t wait to go back.
large menu . food is good, veal dishes are pricey but portions are very large
We arrived early but were sat almost immediately, which we very much appreciated. We ordered appetizers of muscles and calamari, both were very good. They seem not to be sure whether they want to make Rhode Island calamari (with peppers) or traditional, as there were a few peppers but not a lot. Service was great with the exception of our bottle of wine taking seemingly forever to come out, but otherwise the service was very attentive. The specials were many and sounded awesome, but we knew they are usually very expensive ($40-$80) so we ordered off of the extensive menu and were not disappointed. Portions were on the larger side and quality was very good. Desert ande also very good. A very good experience, overall!
Our server, Craig, was phenomenal. He knew the menu and the specials without a look at the menu. The description fo reach special was very specific. I happily ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with shrimp, not on the menu. We also ordered the Apple tart dessert, not on the menu. Both delicious. Extremely happy with service and the quality (quantity) of food. Five stars!
Excellent food. Service was a bit slow and forgetful. Server never brought grated cheese for salad when requested. Black coffee came too late after other diners cappuccinos were done.
We had an excellent time celebrating my Birthday lunch as we were wined and dined!
The entrees were delicious and the service was excellent!
Can’t wait to return, Thank so much:)
The food is outstanding. The homemade bread is delicious, food quality top notch, dishes creative, and proportions large. We both had veal dishes that were great. Portions were so large we only ate half, but they were almost as good the next night.
Atmosphere was bad. The conversation from the next table was dominating as we heard every word. I was seated next to two closed doors opening to the dishwasher and heard clanging dishes. Tables in the bar were more quiet.
If we go again, we will request a quiet table.
I was really impressed with the food at this restaurant. Large portions and unique items. Will return again.
Food is always excellent. Sat at bar for a drink and the service was terrible! One bartender and a server. Bartender took our order and never came back.
I was very disappointed from my whole experience. From the food , to the server , and even the manager . Everything was very much below expectations and I’ll never be back .
This is a tough review for me to write. In the several years that I have been a patron at Luciano’s I have always had an excellent food. But alas this past Sunday two things were disappointing - I was in the mood for Eggplant so I ordered the Eggplant and Chicken Parmigiana with penne pasta. The sauce was fair to mediocre... it was pale, very acidic, and had no body to it.. must have been a bad day because as I said my dinners there have always be excellent. The eggplant and the chicken were good but it was the sauce that was the problem. And secondly a minor thing and unfortunately didn’t know it until we finished our drinks.. we ordered vodka martinis with cocktail onions. The onions which I ate at the end of the drink were spoiled and had a very bad taste. BUT I am still a huge fan and will be back again. Luciano’s is one of my favorite restaurants. The overall experience was wonderful and as usual we had a pleasant and fun afternoon.
Food was delicious, we had a lovely table for two, our server was very attentive and nice to talk with. However we both ordered a special which of course the price is not mentioned. We don’t drink alcohol and did not order dessert and the bill was $175. My grandfather used to say “if you have to ask the price, you can’t afford it.” But it was a special occasion (anniversary and Valentine’s Day), and everything was wonderful ... just be prepared.
Parking was a mess. No valet parking. Lot was full so had to wait for open spots.
Lovely, leisurely dinner.
Enjoyed the staff and the food !
Always enjoy Luciano’s! The food is great, reasonably priced for fine dining. The atmosphere and ambiance is also very nice. Quality traditional Italian dining that competes with the North End.
Excellent service and deliciously prepared food in a great atmosphere! Can’t say enough about how friendly and personable all the staff were. We had a great meal from app to dessert! We will be back soon!
One of our "go-to" restaurants for special occasions (in this case Valentine's Day / Anniversary), and the food and service are always consistently good. We were unable to find a lunch time opening, which was a bit of a disappointment, as I find their lunch menu to be more of a value with reasonably sized portions, whereas their dinner menu is a bit pricey, but having left-overs was nice. Still one of the best spots for Italian food in the area, and there are members of the staff that have been there for several years, which is always a sign of reasonable management.
Not bad, but not the best I’ve had. You pay more for the environment than the food. Not that the food is bad, but not worth the price you pay.
The place is fantastic, best food in New England by far. The people make you feel at home and the food is unbelievable!!!
We have visited Luciano's for special events for many years and the experience is always outstanding. The consistency with which the restaurant welcomes and accommodates its guests is unprecedented in my experience. Outstanding food, attentive service, quiet and comfortable setting, generous portions of well prepared and hot food. You simply can't beat Luciano's for a nice quiet dinner or special occasion.
We have had lunch at Luciano's many times and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is quiet elegance. The lunch menu has many choices and we have tried many of them and enjoyed them all. The portions are generous and well presented. The bread and bruchetta that are a prelude to the meal are excellent as well.
Always a wonderful experience at Luciano's. Our favorite restaurant.
Food and service were excellent as usual. Good place to meet up with friends
The welcome was warm, we were seated against the wall in a very pleasant wood-lined room. The menus is large, the menus are enormous — they could take less room and still be legible.
Bread came very quickly. Be warned: it’s delicious. Do not eat all of it. Not even all the focaccia. Really.
We had salmon garnished with a lobster tail, asparagus and sauce béarnaise, with whipped potatoes, and veal francese on pasta. Both were outrageously delicious. The veal could be cut with a fork. The side salads were dressed with just the right amount of a house balsamic that was perfect.
Limoncello sorbet was superb. The cheesecake with strawberries also very good, but not my favorite (that would be Junior’s, from Brooklyn). The desserts came with excessive whipped cream, which was wasted, sadly.
Service was what it should be, with attentiveness without hovering, specials clearly described, a little gentle humor without cracking jokes.
We hadn’t been for at least 20 years, but will be back in summer for our anniversary and subsequent celebrations. It’s a special place. Our check, with 3 glasses of house Chianti was about $110 before tip.
For a good value and a quiet meal, go for a late lunch, served until 3 PM.
As usual this place excellent food which also plentiful. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the preparation.
Complimentary Bruchetta and bread are are enjoyable. Veal Frances is to die for. Red pasta sauce is nice and little tangy.we had enough food left over to take home for another full meal.
We were celebrating my wife’s birthday and at the end of the meal they provided complimentary Tiramisu which was a bonus.
We have been there several times and it is our place for dining for any and all occasions.
Outstanding service. Thank you Craig.
After waiting for 20 minutes at the table (restaurant empty) decided to follow up with the Manager. His defensive and lack of customer service response was “you are not waiting for so long”.
One of the server not assigned to the area decided to take action and reached out to us. We were ready to leave, but she insisted on us to stay. Her name was Maryellen and she was excellent.
I don’t think we will go back again, but if you decide to visit this restaurant please ask for her to be your server.
I celebrated my birthday today and couldn’t have chosen a nicer place. As always, Luciano’s shines in everything they do: great ambience, knowledgeable, friendly waitstaff (thanks, Zach!) and of course the wine selections, appetizers, entrees, desserts are wonderful. Truly like being back in Italy...Luciano’s will not disappoint. Excellent! Buon appetito!
