Love this place. Even in the Portland foodie scene, MK stands out. Menu, wine beer and cocktail choices are all great and the food is top notch. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly but the service is impeccable.
The food was exceptional.
Server was attentive without being overbearing.
Can't wait to go back.
We both enjoyed dishes off of their Restaurant Week vegetarian menu. MK Kitchen never disappoints. 💕
We had a great dinner with friends during Restaurant week. Most had the RW menu but a couple ordered off the menu. It was nice to have a choice. The drinks menu had good offerings across all categories.
One complaint: I had the pork loin with mac&cheese and brussel sprouts. The pork was overcooked. Disappointing. Nothing worse than overcooked pork. Everything else was very good.
Service was friendly and attentive, not rushed.
I'll give it another try one day.
Always a wonderful time and meal at MK Kitchen. We went with friends who were experiencing their first meal at MK. The staff were all friendly and had a great sense of humor.
It was very good. The menu was reasonable and varied. I can't wait to go back.
The dates stuffed w/blue cheese were delicious, it would be a great dessert as well! Salmon and pork were perfectly done. The sauces were really amazing, and just enough. The roasted vegetables needed just a little more time. We highly recommend and will definitely return.
Excellent food and experience. Our sever Jess was extremely friendly, food was amazing, drinks were perfect. Overall amazing experience. The restaurant week menu was fantastic!
Very low light for over 40. Had to use the flashlight on my iPhone to read the menu.
Food was very good, service was awesome!
The chatter from the lounge is innate to a lounge and pretty much unavoidable. other than that, it was a great dining experience, with big thumbs up to our waitress and floor staff as well as our food.
Excellent food and equally good service, as usual!
Restaurant week and we’d wanted to try MK Kitchen for awhile...
We were greeted bu charming hostess, our waitress was discreet and very knowledgeable and our food was creative and delicious.
We look forward to more wonderful evenings there with friends!
The restaurant week menu was good and we would go back to try their regular menu.
Excellent service. Delicious food. A bit pricey but over all I would go back.
Delicious food! excellent service! Had great choices for Maine restaurant week.
Rigatoni dish was disappointing in lack of flavor and portion. Macaroni n cheese needs more cheese. Clam chowder wasn’t rich and creamy and spice was have handed. Pork was cooked perfectly, bread was yummy and chocolate mouse was amazing. Loved the atmosphere and service was great. I’ll be back to try other dishes.
We had another great meal at MK on Friday evening with friends. The drinks, apps & entrees were all amazing! We all selected different items & everything was delicious! My husband & I shared the chocolate mousse which was delicious!
My Wife and I had been meaning to try MK Kitchen ever since it opened. Great meal and service! We will definitely coming back to enjoy more of the menu!
Excellent food...love the ambiance and will be back!
Food was fantastic! Lobster cones are to die for!
It was our first time and we’ll definitely be back! Absolutely delicious! Everything!
Great place,great staff.
Awesome food.Nicely dressed people.
Will come again
Overall a nice experience
The parking is challenging
The food is good but a bit pricey
The service was good but it is a little on the noisy side
Four of us went on Valentine's Day. Service and food were excellent. My only complaint was the noise level. We sat on the bar side and had difficulty hearing each other at times.
How do I love thee? The grilled romaine Caesar? The spinach pesto cream sauce on the handmade ravioli? The chocolate mousse? Of course... but I’m still recalling fondly a kale slaw. Kale?! Yes, kale. That is some next-level wizard skills. Our favorite restaurant. Obviously. ☺️
What a fabulous find! From the moment we walked in everything was amazing. Great ambiance, and it was warm and cozy. The good was out of this world. We had ravioli, beet salad and crab cakes for appetizers. The crab cakes had large pieces of crab meat in it. The ravioli and beet salad were also great. For diner we had the paella and gnocchi primavera. Both were so good. The portions were plenty. Creme brulee and tiramisu with coffee for dessert and we were in heaven...Such a great meal.....
Good as always. The filet was very rare but the server noticed and offered a dessert.
Sarah was our waitress and she was excellent! Very helpful with suggestions and always attentive.
Excellent food. Well worth the wait. The ambiance is too loud to have an intimate conversation on a date. Think - sports bar during a ball game. Service was exceptionally slow. Great wait staff. The food took 1.5 hrs to get to the table. Long wait times with an environment where good conversation is hard to have is why the ambiance only got 4 stars.
Great food! Great service. We will continue to go back again and again!
Service was slow, but friendly.
Food was stuck to bottom of skillet, but still good.
This is a difficult review because I know MK got great
reviews from others.....
We will DEFINITELY give it another try.
Fantastic meal! I always request a quiet table and so often we are seated in the thick of the action. This place met my request and more. Our server Sara was a ray of sunshine. Very knowledgeable, friendly, happy and professional. The food was exceptional from the lobster cones to the short ribs and salmon. The Mac and cheese gnocchi was just delicious. A wonderful evening. We’ll be back .
Perfectly prepared Manhattan to go with our baked date appetizer was how our evening started. Entrees were delectable and our server was attentive without being intrusive. The only thing I wished our server paid attention to was the flash of headlights through the windows; simple enough fix, we just untied the drapes, but this is something staff should monitor. Thank you for a scrumptious dinner!
The pesto cream sauce and cheese ravioli was amazing!
Magnificent experience. Period.
We were greeted in a timely fashion and seated at our reserved table in the main dining room near the window. The noise level was extremely loud. My dinner companion and I yelled at each other throughout our meal. At one point it was easier not to speak!
We ordered wine which was adequate.
The staff brought us bread and dipping oil. The bread was indistinguishable and the oil tasted flat. It had no flavor.
The dinner options were multiple. We started with mussels. These were undercooked and tasted fishy. We ate a couple and discussed with our waitress. At our request, she removed them from the table.
Our entrees included half portions of rigatoni bolognese. The sauce tasted burnt, like it had been brewing for days longer than it should have.
We also accompanied our meal with a side of Brussels sprouts. These were cooked appropriately and the tastiest on our plates. But who wants a meal of Brussels sprouts?
We were anxious to leave as we were exhausted yelling at one another over the loud noise from the restaurant.
Our waitress was very attentive during our meal. Our water glasses were constantly being filled and we were checked in quite frequently.
Because of our dislike to the mussels, they were removed from our bill. The total came to $55. We left a generous tip.
We will not be returning to this restaurant.
Love this restaurant. The food and service is always top notch! Has many items that are gluten free and DELICIOUS! Such a wonderful place to eat.
Everything we had was so delicious. Mac and cheese gnocchi, fondue, mocha martini! They even accommodate my picky 8 yr old with pasta and butter.
Service was prompt and friendly. Table was ready on time - even a few minutes early. Salads as starters were excellent. I can vouch personally for my grilled Caesar with anchovies, which was very nice. And the paella was nicely done, the seafood still tender and fresh - not overcooked at all. A shared chocolate mousse was a good way to end the meal, though it would have been fine for one, and all the portion sizes were reasonable, neither too much nor too skimpy. Just about what I would have expected for this kind of restaurant. Really nothing I would change; the only thing I'd note is that off-street parking is quite limited, so don't be surprised if you have to park on the street and walk a bit. Not to worry, though. It's worth it.
