Mon Ami Gabi - Oak Brook
Did not know we would get 0 points for this location. 2nd restaurant recently. Open table is making an enemy of us.
Enjoyed the atmosphere here--quieter and more reserved than the other Lettuce restaurants at Oakbrook Center. Service was superb. My only negative was that the 3 mini tenderloins entrée was a bit dry and overcooked. Small pieces of meat like that only need about a minute of two under the broiler. This meat was cooked too long or was, perhaps, not a good cut to begin with.
I felt like I was enjoying steak at fritz in a Parisian bistro! Everything was wonderful. A special thank you to our waiter. He was so professional and his recommendations were spot on.
We made the right choice for dinner before the theatre. Everything was wonderful and, as first time visitors, we were given a free dessert! If you like a traditional serving of escargot in garlic butter, this is the place. And try the skate - it's great.
A great mix of suburban mall convenience and elegance. Customarily fine LEYE professionalism and service. Very tasty food. It worked perfectly as a "special occasion" dinner close to home, and at a fair price.
In all the years we've been coming to Mon Ami Gabi for celebrations, casual dinners or appetizers in the bar, we have never had a bad meal.
The service was friendly and fast. The steak frites were delicious. We had an early dinner and it was quiet and sexy. The manager thanked us on the way out. Love that they don't overwhelm you with the menu.
Menu seems to be getting smaller. Having a 7:30 pm reservation, I did not expect to have run out of the daily special. Food was very salty. Service was good, but distracted. Restaurant was exceptionally noisy.
Not the best date location any more.
Wonderful salads and the best French onion soup. One of my favorites spots for a fancy lunch!
Excellent choices, excellent advice, excellent wine and excellent service!
Had lunch with a friend, and as always the service and food were fantastic. They allow you to sit and chat, no rush. And they are great at suggesting wines and specials.
outstanding on all fronts--from the staff to the food. it was a delightful dinner
It was Bastille Day and there were decorations. Steak frites great as usual but by 7pm Sunday was the only thing left to order. We got the Facebook notification so someone remembered but didn’t order enough specials or fish. Love this bistro and hope owners aren’t giving up on this iconic mainstay!
Our server was fantastic
11:15am reservation seated immediately, friendly front staff. Great ambiance dined outside on patio, took advantage of the nice weather. Good food, great service from our waiter Javier. Most enjoyable dining experience.
You guys ROCK....
Thanks for an awesome experience.
My girlfriend and I will be dinning with you again. Thanks once again
Been here several times over the years. This visit was one of the less memorable ones. Some items came out cold (French fries) and some overcooked and dry (trout almondine).
Service was not bad, but nothing above average either.
The service was good. The food was nothing special, the salads were especially mediocre. The steak was fine, but not worth the price. Room was loud, table was super tippy (unbalanced), impossible to park near the restaurant. In general it was not a place we would bother to visit again.
The menu was a little small this visit. I enjoyed the food and menu more last time I went.
The service and quality of food in not to be surpassed. Always an enjoyable evening and good food. We brought a French from Paris and she thought is was terrific.
Very elegant place for a lunch. The food was great and it was the right portion. Service was very nice too.
Steak was dry and over cooked. Service saved the day
Great food, great service, great wine. We will for sure be back.
Always reliable for great food, but even better when you go for Happy Hour. With drinks and appetizers being half off, we saved $104 on our bill. Appetizers were steal tartar, escargots, duck confit, and pate. The duck was new for all of us and proved to be an excellent choice. Mussels (appetizer portion), French onion soup, steak tartar (again appetizer portion), and the halibut special started as our entrees. With wild abandon, we opted for crime brûlée, profiteroles, cognac, and sorbet for dessert. Especially delicious was the buttermilk sorbet. Perfect dinner.
Excellent food and service as always
Food was great, fun time in their outside dining section surrounded by flowers. Service was excellent!
Mon Ami Gabi is one of my favorite restaurants. It's always a good experience. The Beef Wellington was scrumptious.
Great food! Great ambiance! Good service! Can’t expect anymore!
Consistently excellent steak frites and stellar service.
This is our second Anniversary visit in so many years. They made our evening special and memorable.
We were seated near the door to the kitchen, which is swinging door. The wait staff us constantly going in & out. Unfortunately, the door squeaks badly & loudly. Takes away from the experience when you hearing squeaking all through your meal.
Food was delicious as always, our server was not bad, but not great.
We sat in the bar area, which allows nice light from the outside, but the cool air of the inside. Most tables there are for 2 or 4. Wednesday is half price appetizer and bar drink night. Good value. We had mussels and steak frites, both were excellent.
Great food, staff and service!
Mon Ami Gabi is a superb restaurant because of the food and service. Any time we choose to go there, it is usually for an occasion or celebration, and we end up having such a great experience!!! This restaurant is great for any occasions, as well as every day dining (but a casual meal could end up feeling like a special occasion due to the excellent food, service, and ambiance!).
We love this restaurant. The food is always excellent, the service impeccable, and the noise level low enough that you can have a conversation. The onion soup is our favorite but we always forget to just order that and a salad and we will have our meal. However, the left-overs that we bring home are always delicious.
Yes, It is a bustling restaurant. Yet it is a great place for Sunday brunch.
The service is good and the wait staff is cheerful and accommodating.
Great gluten free menu! Food and service were perfect!
