Amazing service! Great food!
Service was bad, food was poorly timed and not as good as it has been in the past. Great patio and easy location.
Great food choices, lots of interesting flavors and lovely taste. Relatively large portions, also for the dishes marked as ‘small’ so you don’t need as many of them as they recommend.
Not the best food or Service. They brought entrée's 15 minutes apart, and the food wad $20 for just a ton of rice and very little of anything else. The flavors were not very strong, and the tables were so close together. The restaurant was half empty and they sat us in tight quarters when there was plenty of open seating.
Just not a great experience for brunch. Maybe another meal is better. Honestly had high hoped for this place since the reviews are all positive. My boyfriend and I actually went home and ordered chipotle.
Everything was great, except we sat outside and the staff didn't seem prepared to assign those tables to anyone. We were there for 2 hours, for brunch, for 2 people, and were most definitely not the only people sitting outside, so the service could have been a bit better.
The waiter was great! The food was solid and the restaurant itself was very clean and had a great vibe
The food was amazing, the service was was wonderful and we left completely stuffed and satisfied. Will be back very soon. Believe the hype about the burger.
Food out to fast , to crowed and to loud
Food used to be good, but now it's pretty awful. Kimchi mentaiko udon was good, but noodles were overcooked. The cod was good, but ridiculously overpriced for the tiny serving. The clay fish dish was so sweet it was inedible. All 6 of us were unable to eat it. I think there may have been a mistake and someone included way too much sugar but when we asked about it the waiter he seemed pretty ambivalent so we left it relatively untouched. Fried rice was way too garlicky (and I love garlic). Sisig could have been decent if it wasn't so salty. The burger at the bar only rule is inconvenient and frustrating, especially we saw someone that was served a burger at their table but our waiter refused to serve us at our table. Have been to Mott several times and it was one of my favorites. Last time I came, food was ok, and this time, very disappointing. So my friends and I will not be returning and I will discourage my other friends and colleagues from going.
Great spot for my birthday dinner!
No gluten free bun for burgers.
Mott St. always lives up to the hype with incredibly tasty food and drink. However, I always question the portion sizing with my $100+ bill for two — even worse when we both leave hungry.
Amazing unique food and the cutest outdoor decorations. Will definitely be back!
Joanna was our server and made this meal EXCEPTIONAL. She surprised us with a catfish claypot and this entree honestly made the entire meal! They have funky, yet delicious cocktails. If you can, try to get a seat outside and enjoy the meal on their patio.
What a charming bustling place for a fun date night!
Friends get together
Fun delicious food. Great vibe. Helpful wait staff
The burger was def the star of the brunch. I had heard a lot about the burger and it definitely met the expectations I had built up. THe pork jowel brunch dish was also very tasty.
The outdoor seating area was nice. It was communal, but I don’t mind that sort of thing. Our server was helpful and kind, but some of the other staff that delivered our dishes were not very enthusiastic about things. No one explained what we were receiving when dishes were dropped off and people we just kind of unfriendly. The food itself was pretty inconsistent. The empanadas and bone marrow were flavorless and the sisig was super salty. The catfish dish was quite good but that was the only bright spot. Probably won’t return simply because there are so many other restaurants in the area at the same price point but with better food.
Absolutely fantastic all around. Been there multiple times. Had a group of 6 with some out of town friends so was nice try so many dishes since everything is shareable. Burger has always been a favorite and keeps us coming back every time. Can’t wait for the next!
I’m not sure I understand the rave about this place. The flavors were bland, poorly balanced and extremely disappointing.
My favorite place in Chicago.
Mott Street is one of my fave restaurants in Chicago! Great drinks, food, service. My faves are the kimchi empanadas, stuffed cabbage, mussels, burger which is why I bring groups of friends, coworkers when I get a chance.
Overall the dinner was mediocre. We sat outside on a nice night so the ambience was nice and The drinks were good. However, the food was completely bland and tasteless. The only good dish was the dumplings. Very disappointing, especially for the price. Will not be back.
Delicious! Made a reservation but ended up cancelling and sitting at the bar so that we could enjoy the burger. Highly recommend the burger, cocktails and the Boat Noodles!
Had a first date on the patio. Twas perfect. If you are able to eat it, I recommend the bread! So worth it. I cannot wait to go back to try more menu items.
Food came more than one hour after ordered.
Amazing. The kimchi cabbage roll, the broccoli and the cauliflower remain on my tastebuds. One of my favorites
Everything we had here was absolutely amazing! Of particular note are the coconut pancakes — I’ve never had pancakes that were as light and fluffy as these were and have been recommending them to EVERYONE I can think of. The summer melon and soju freeze was refreshing and perfect for the sunny day.
They have the absolute best burger in Chicago! It was actually the best burger we have ever eaten. It’s a little messy, but it’s worth getting your hands a little dirty. If you go, get the burger. You will not regret it.
Have driven by this place a thousand times and finally tried it for dinner. The food is very unique, everything we ordered came out in a timely manner and paced well through the meal. We tried the imperial rolls, scallops, Mott st burger, rabbit, udon kimchi noodles — the rabbit was by far the best thing we tried. Atmosphere is very noisy inside with the windows open so wouldn’t be great for any guests hard of hearing or where you want to visit a bunch. But liked the concept. Food was great, service was so-so. We’d finished our meal and waited about 20 minutes to locate our server and ask for the check, wish he wouldn’t have disappeared on us like that but overall not bad. Unique neighborhood spot.
We came from france to visit Chicago. Mott Street was definitely the best restaurant we went to: thoughtful service, amazing creative food based on quality products, chill and relaxing atmosphere. I definitely recommend
Service was poor. Asked to order everything at the same time and then it all came out very quickly at almost the same time and we had 6 plates on our table. Next time we won’t order all at once because it basically ruined the meal
Food is good the plates are expensive and small you have to order a lot of dishes or leave hungry. My husband was raiding the refrigerator the minute we came home.
2nd time been there and tried more dishes. Stuffed cabbage was really tasty. Didn't care for Steamed dumplings though as they were pretty hard and dry. Other good dishes included Skewers (Shrimp and Pork Belly), Bone Marrow, etc.
Food was all very good; drinks not so much. When you charge $6 for a tiny glass of orange juice, it should definitely be fresh squeezed...we weren't convinced. The Mottmosa was bland and the bloody Mary was very clumping for some reason. The wok-smoked gailan was the favorite dish at the table. Atmosphere is so charming
Best burger in Chicago! We also had the scallops and broccoli which were also fantastic. We always sit at the bar and the staff is always friendly. Mott Street is a must try!
Super awkward service that continued throughout a variety of server changes. Let’s just saw we got two plates before our wine came out... The food was downright bad (we had been before) - the rice was extremely bland and dry, the pork jowl was so salty it burned your mouth, the wings were a flat note of soy sauce and were overcooked (the meat was legit dry), the scallops were the only interesting dish were cooked and seasoned correctly. Then we had the dumplings (fine), and the cabbage that had rice on the top that wasn’t “crispy”, it was actually burnt to the point that you couldn’t chew it/ it was sharp and could cut your mouth if you weren’t careful. The meat inside the cabbage was fine if crock pot pork is supposed to be special. They did the opposite of pace the meal - we felt like we were being blasted with piling plates of mediocre food. I think their reputation has proceeded them and they’re more interested in turning tables than providing a decent meal. Used to be an awesome spot in the neighborhood that has become another Chicago “hot” place to be with crappy food and service.
Great food, absolutely horrible service. So bad that I wouldn't go again, or recommend to a friend. I also had to basically "fight" with the waiter to get him acknowledge my complaints--meanwhile, the table next to us had the SAME complaints, and were given free food, drinks, and apologies throughout their meal.
