Natalie's at Camden Harbour Inn
Wonderful experience, the food was over the top, flavorful and artfully presented.I felt that the staff was attentive to our needs and really paid attention to detail. Absolutely the best meal in Maine.
Wonderful Valentine course menu
Excellent time! Carl was the best and Steve was interesting with the wine pairing! We drank way too much but a fun time overall. I would make a suggestion with the desert choice(there was none). I do so hate coffee or anything that tastes like coffee so the desert was disgusting to me. Carl brought a lemony gelato? He was very nice.
We were celebrating our anniversary so we enjoyed the bubbly! Thanks again... second time eating here, first was Christmas Day.
Would recommend! A bit too fancy for what we’re used to, but good for special occasions! I thought to surprise my partner by going to a high class restaurant, and it ended up being a lot more expensive than I intended, so keep this in mind when considering course meals here!! My budget was $300 including tip, and it was $311 for the bill...so be mindful! I left a 30% tip even so. (Left a dent in my wallet, but my fault for not double checking prices). Definitely leave a good tip as folks are incredibly kind and accommodating here.
Very busy evening, it being Valentine's Day. Much busier than usual with most of the guest arriving at about the same time which put a real crunch on the kitchen and wait staff. Normally, guests arrive spread over an hour or more giving the staff the time to pay close, friendly, attentive attention to the guests, so I'm not faulting Natalie's.
Creative and beautifully prepared dishes. Attentive service. A true culinarily destination and a top Relais and Chateaux dining experience!
This was a wonderful experience, starting from the moment that Sven welcomed us. We had the fixed price menu with the premium wine pairings, and it was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. The wait staff was outstanding. Craig’s (I think that was his name!) recommendations were spot on, and Steve’s wine suggestions provided the perfect complement. We ate and drank things we would usually not have chosen. The food was beyond delicious, and the presentation lovely. The service was attentive without being smothering. We truly loved every minute. Fine dining at its best.
A memorable meal from start to finish. We had the 4 course prix fixe menu which offered ample choice and included several amuse bouche additions and an intermezzo. Everything was perfectly seasoned and exquisitely presented. Romantic atmosphere and attentive service added to the experience. 5 star!!
We had an absolutely lovely time. The staff was excellent and everyone read the tables well. Noise level was perfect and very comfortable, cosy chairs. Decorations very nice and not too much. The food was fabulous. We will be making this an annual event!
Just a lovely experience all around.
The food and drinks were great, the waiter was a joy and a nice atmosphere
Thanksgiving evening, 7 PM sitting. Did not get seated until 8:30. Complimentary prosecco while waiting. Were told there would be a wait, but not told how long. Nothing to munch on. Ready for bed by the time we ate. Women next to me had to leave as it was just too late. Was charged for 2 prosceccos at the table. No other alcohol ordered. Bill almost 300 with tip. Prix fixe. The food was definitely excellent, but the experience was tough. Just wanted to go home to bed.
Dear Mincey, Thank you for your review and we are glad you enjoyed the food. We apologize the delay you experienced which should not have happened the way it did. Because of issues with computer server due to a storm and a fire alarm later in service we got delayed and were unable to catch up. For that reason, we reached out to all our guests and offered a gift certificate. Please contact me in order to send your gift certificate by email or phone. email@example.com m or call 207 236 7008
We were there for Thanksgiving dinner. The food was GREAT! The staff wonderful! The atmosphere warm and pleasing. NOW AS FOR THEIR ABILITY TO MANAGE SUCH AN EVENT - I'm certain the high school children that applied childish strategies of party planning learned a lot and will some day go on to be good restaurateurs. We arrived 20 minutes early. They apologized for being a little behind, jokes were made, they offered us a glass of cheep campaign -- okay. 15 minutes after our appointed time they apologized again -- no worries you told me you were a little behind. 30 minutes later ... we tried to order something just to nibble on (say cheese and crackers -- servers were polite but then disappeared -- nothing ever came). I could go on but net: 1.5 hours after our reservation, we were finally seated. 30 minutes later someone finally took our order. My wife was about to pass out from hunger, I have a medical condition that made things worse, things got so late, we really could not make it thru our meal and took much of it home. I am certain this is great restaurant and I will give them another try. BUT SERIOUSLY if they are reading this, they need to get a project manager, or an event manager that ACTUALLY has a successful track record and not just juvenile ideas about how to manage such things. Summary: Staff, Food, Atmosphere ... ALL GREAT. Management team ... needs some schooling.
Dear Mr. Fielding, thank you for your review. We always strive to offer the best guest- and culinary experience to our guests. We are glad to learn that food, service and staff was great, We agree that a delay of an hour is not acceptable and we sincerely apologize! Our computer system was not working due to the heavy storm. Although we tried to catch up, we were unable to do so with a sold out restaurant. We have reached out to all our guests, apologized and offered them a gift certificate.
The restaurant totally overbooked for Thanksgiving seating. There was over an hour wait
for a confirmed reservation, and when seated, service was exceptionally slow and disorganized.
The restaurant interior is festive and beautiful as befitting the season, seating comfortable, but
waiting over two hours for dinner was unexceptable.
Dear Mr. Moore, thank you for your review. We always strive to offer the best possible guest- and culinary experience. We agree that a delay of an hour is not acceptable and we sincerely apologize! Unfortunately, our computer system was not working due to the heavy storm resulting in delays. Although we tried to catch up, we were unable to do so with a sold out restaurant. We have reached out to all our guests experiencing delays and offered them a gift certificate to use for a future dinner.
We had a terrific experience at Natalie’s. Great service delicious meal!
Everything was fabulous! Bistro menu- had lobster bisque- unique and one of the best I’ve eaten. Lobster Mac-n-cheese was not too rich- very well done. Large pieces of lobster and macaroni was light- absolutely delicious. Steak with blue cheese was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. Ambiance was romantic and warm. Love the decor-red chairs and lamps- beautiful. Great fall decor- service impeccable!! A must try if in Camden!!
Outstanding in every way
We loved our night at Natalie’s
From the incredible preparation and taste of food, to superb service & ambiance, all the way to the choice of hand soap in the restroom.....outstanding! Thanks to Josh for the wonderful wine selections and to Kerry for the attentive service.
So over rated. They want so much to be a 5 star restaurant but aren’t and it’s not difficult to see why. They should stop acting like elitist snobs with courses served in a spoon because that’s not how you get there. If you want to experience the ambience of the fire engine red walls and don’t mind spending at least $300 for the pleasure of saying you ate at Natalie’s go for it. If you want a great meal, a romantic setting and outstanding servers, don’t waste your time and money. Maine has lots of better ways to spend it where you’ll leave wanting more not because your meal filled a soup spoon but because it was the most fantastic experience you’ve had.
The food was presented well, however, we didnt find it was as good as expected, particularly for the price.
Prie fixe menu - the food, service, and ambiance were wonderful. Unfortunately, it was waaaay too much food for my husband and me - so we got full 2/3 of the way through. A little bit of a waste of food and money for us.
Sorry but this restaurant tries too hard to be something it's not. It has a huge disconnect between what it's trying to be (a fixed prix French Laundry fine dining) and the delivery (young kids that haven't been out of the town). Our table of two had a lobster menu and the variety menu with the wine pairing. Food was ok, definitely creative and fresh, but none of the courses were exceptional or delicious. Sadly, it was our most expensive meal during vacation and the most disappointing - not to mention it took over 2.5 hours that we will never get back. :-(
The bartender was fabulous - had we known how the meal would have turned out, a burger from the bar menu would have surely been the better choice.
Exellent food served with dedication and style.
Unfortunately the Manager forgot to inform the staff of an allergy for Grapefruit ( used in a few courses )
Only the fault of the host/manager not the staff
Incredible 5 course Lobster Tasting Meal with wine pairing. It was outstanding in every aspect of the dinner and ambiance.
Fantastic evening of excellent service, scrumptious food creatively presented and the ambiance of a fine contemporary inn. I highly recommend the lobster tasting!
Food and wait staff excellent, most unfortunately the noice level was so high we had trouble conversing with each other as well as staff.
Splendid experience on all accounts. Loved every minute of it.
I was traveling in Camden and this was the restaurant in my hotel. Everything was presented beautifully and tasted great!
Lobster sampling out of this world!
Staff top shelf!
Best damn food I’ve ever experienced!
I will be Back... a must if you’re a foodie!!
Great evening! We were rushing out of Boston to make our 830 pm res and almost did not make it! We opted for the wine pairing menu which was fun. Food was great and inventive, although a little too much (amuse bouches). Overall , a fun culinary experience and nice service .
For seniors, price fixes I'd too much food . A la cartel selections are preferable.
Absolutely Amazing! The food, drink, ambience and service were fabulous! Natalie’s was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary! We were visiting from California and hope to return again someday! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Perfect dining experience for our anniversary! We had a wonderful time, food was elegantly prepared and delicious. The entire experience took 2 hours so be prepared for that, there was also some “surprise” courses which was really fun! Highly recommend, worth the money!
Flawless experience from the impeccable service to the scrumptious creative culinary
delights, Natalie’s never disappoints. This is a must when you visit Camden, Maine.
We went for our 50th Anniversary, everyone congratulated us, that was all. My husband had the lobster course menu. He found it to be delicious and beautifully presented. I ordered from the prix fix menu. First course was a tomato salad, the tomato was not ripe, quite firm in fact, and not very much flavor. The cod course was a beautiful piece of fish with a marinated bean that tasted like soap. Tyler said, "yes, there are people that have that experience with the Japanese herb". It flavored the whole course and spoiled the following courses. Why use it if it's an offensive flavor to some? My pork entree was not well developed in flavor with 5 gnocchi?? Cheese course delicious. Waiter seemed disappointed in our choice of wine.
We had higher expectations for Natalie's. The ambiance was very nice, service excellent but the food did not deliver. The presentations of the 5 courses was lovely however, the flavors on some of the courses were lacking. My husband had the five course lobster dinner and definitely would not recommend. He enjoyed a good ole lobster roll much more a few days later.
Overly attentive wait staff, who interrupted conversation to explain each course . Quite unnecessary. Still, each course nicely prepared.
I had the 5 course lobster tasting menu, and my husband selected the pork tenderloin entree from the 4-course side of the menu. Everything was attractively prepared and tasty. Wine list and recommendations from the sommelier were extensive. Service was attentive. The dining room is small but lovely. We enjoy fine dining, so this was a good evening for us. However, I would only recommend it to well-heeled friends willing to spend more than $400 on dinner.
The service and presentation was amazing and that’s about where the compliments end. It was a classic high-end, large-white-plate-but-small-colorful-portion restaurant. The problem was food was generally terrible so we left both hungry and unsatisfied. All of the food combinations did not make any sense and seemed like a toddler randomly selected everything (one offering was basically lucky charms). While the wine list was fantastic, everything on the list where we had a comparable sense of value was 10-30% over-priced. Again the there was a tremendous level of service and all-around great staff but just a horrible food product at an even more horrendous price point. I could not recommend this place to anyone, even if everything were half the price. We have never had a worse meal relative to expectations ever and will never return.
