The Conservatory - The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay
Love this place! Our favorite place to eat in the Bay Area. :)
Jeffrey, our waiter, was excellent. Provided good suggestions. Food was fabulous. Enjoyed the whole evening, no rush, just sitting and enjoying a good meal and view.
Very average food for price (resort). $75 steak and halibut both were bland. Very disappointed came for 60th birthday.
We were called 2 days prior to our reservation and told the restaurant was closed. No explanation, just closed. Alternative was another restaurant in the hotel and we accepted that. Food was good at the other restaurant but not Navio’s. It seems that the hotel and restaurant catering groups so don’t book it if you really want Navio’s.
WE always come here Mother's day , my favorite spot to celebrate and of course always request to give me the table by the window with a view i love taking a picture the views, the ambiance the food. our servers were good...
We had a awesome experience at Navio's celebrating my mom's 94th birthday. ..all the staff were so friendly attentive and knowledgeable....The food was amazing...
birthday for wife. They gave her a special chocolate plate with happy birthday candle
Navio is awesome!!! From the moment you see the resort off the ocean it seems like you are in a different world. The food was amazing and very delicious. We where lucky to have the best server “Maria”. She made sure our dining experience to be memorable.
The only downside was the valet fee of $40.
We will be back soon.
lovely views awesome food with so many choices to select from
the buffet was epic
every year we celebrate mother's day here till we get old...:)....my hubby and son loved the food mostly the caviar and lobster....
we had another reservation on Father's day and we will enjoy to the max and we also recomment to our good friends.
a bit pricey, hope it will stay the same amount till next year...
Service was amazing. Dean was our server.
Our waiter was extravagant the food was delicious the ambiance is lovely
Service has taken a nose dive here at Navio. Staff was very “rough” and unsophisticated. Did not know how to properly place utensils and placed our used utensils on the table between courses instead of bringing us new ones. Our main server would check to see if we liked our courses way after they were served, past the point of usefulness. Our secondary server had a permanent scowl and would roughly clear our plates without asking us if we were done. Drinks were brought on trays alongside dirty drinks picked up from other tables. Acceptable for Applebee’s, not for a restaurant of this caliber.
My $80+ steak was horrid. Thin, tough, over cooked, and over salted. At times I felt I was eating a piece of beef jerky. This was after the waiter assured me I would be getting the best piece of meat in my life. The waiter didn’t check in at all to see how our main course was, so I didn’t get the chance to send it back. I was celebrating a special occasion with my wife so I didn’t want to get up and make a big hubbub.
Pair this with the $40 valet fee, making Navio one of the worst values in the area. I would heavily recommend skipping it. This used to be a ~2-3x per year staple for us, no longer.
Real shame, their pastery chef deserves much better. Bread and desserts have continued to be inventive, beautiful, and very tasty. They should quit this burning mess and go somewhere where they’ll be noticed.
the environment is wonderfule, especially the severce, excellent!
Just eh valet is a little expensive,
but overall, it's worth going there
The experience at Navio is so far one of the best ever for us. The manager and servers were superior. The food was great. Everything is excellent!
There is nearly no competition that meets, let alone beats, Navio. We got married on Saturday and spent our wedding night at the HMB Ritz Carlton. Having our wedding-night dinner at Navio was not only five star on every measure but also creates an instant and indelible memory. I can well imagine us celebrate our anniversary there for years to come!
Beautiful brunch service, high end staff, beautiful presentation of food and the view says it all. A wide variety of foods, and the pastries were amazing as well however I felt it was overpriced for the majority of the items for farmers market brunch, given that there were fresh oyster, cocktail shrimp, and mussels, but the majority of the other items were not the main stars and more could have been added like a create your own omelette station, crepes, Belgian waffles , oats, etc. It’s great for a one time experience, I would like to try the Sunday brunch to compare, but besides that it was very relaxing and very nice.
Amazing food, service and view! Perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.
Best Sunday Brunch in Bay Area!
Early Mother’s Day Brunch. Was top notch; the waitstaff was phenomenal.
We have stayed in many Ritz hotels across the world including this one and this was disappointing. Firstly it is shocking that the parking fee is doubled at the weekend and you have to pay $40.
The seat for my wife was dirty and had not really been cleared since the previous people. The food was mediocre for the amount we paid and limited in options. Service was flaky and not at the level we would expect.
All in all cams away disappointed.
NOT Fine Dining at VERY Fine Dining Prices
Hugely disappointing given the amazing setting and not nearly as good as what is available at the Conservatory next door. Dishes were extremely minimalistic. Hiramasa appetizer was almost flavorless. Dover sole entree was more like a large sardine than a Dover sole and entrees come with no sides so fill up on bread. Cheese plate was a shocker with a few wafer thin slices of a type of cheese that tasted like nothing. Even if you're staying in the hotel, there are way better places to east in Half Moon Bay.
I went to a Saturday brunch buffet, it was great.
I made a reservation for it but I forgot to make a note that is for my birthday, so that could have at least a little flower or something else for myself.
The food choices quite a lots, the cheese choices are fantastic but the ice cream choices wasn’t that many, or like sorbet is too sour, the other ice cream is too hard. Definitely love the desserts, they are beautiful, but the bakery wasn’t that soft or maybe it too dry. So everything are good with that price.
Cannot day enough! Outstanding in every way.
This is for the Easter Brunch at Navio. It was absolutely exquisite and blew my mind. Thank goodness, because at $265 per person, the price is mind-blowing as well. But the artistry of presentation was absolutely amazing, and the food was delicious. The most beautiful desserts ever, and so many options, plus seafood- lobster, crab, sushi, caviar, and of course egg dishes and various meats. I didn't want it to be over and I left reluctantly even though I wanted to keep eating despite my full stomach and the 2 hour time limit. I probably won't do this again because of the price for a family of 4, but I am glad to have done it. I think they should have thrown in a glass of champagne for the price, just to be festive.
Crab and oyster is awesome. But without seafood, not much foods to deserve.
This was my fourth time dining at Navio and it has gotten progressively worse. It used to be awesome service and food but not any longer. I would expect outstanding, professional service and fabulous food for the price.
Server was friendly but not well trained or professional. Food was marginal, vegetarian pasta option was served very salty with just pasta, no vegetables. Other seafood meals were nothing special and very small portions.
The window seats are amazing but very difficult to obtain no matter how far in advance you make a reservation.
Overall, I will not return and am disappointed that this special coastal gem has slipped so far in service and quality.
Excellent service and also good presentation.
The cheff's choice menu with the pairing wines was excellent.
Our main waiter was very knowledgeable and also entertaining.
Service is good not too much hot food I like deserts
The second best brunch in the San Francisco Bay area for still goes to the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. But the views are breathtaking of the golf course in the ocean love the place the food is outstanding this service is impeccable just go there you’ll love it
Oysters non stop! Only one alcoholic drink is included with Saturday brunch, which is not how you would usually expect all you can eat and drink when you pay $100 pp.
Best buffet in the Bay Area 🙌🏽
Special thanks to our servers: Sonia & Maria 👯♀️
Thank you for giving us a window table as requested 😄
Thank you for making my bday brunch deliciously outstanding 😋
The scenery is beautiful, but underneath our table was filthy. There was a dirty spoon and I asked the waitress for a replacement and she did not bring me one. The food was limited and the price was high at $129. There was no listing of allergens. There was only old bacon, runny eggs, warmed over egg benedict. There was an asian station with slim poor choices for dim sum, no rice, and sushi appeared old and the sushi rolls fell apart. There were two roasted meats, no sides, crab claws, shrimp, cheao caviar and fish eggs, and a small tuna dish. There was no omelette station, no fresh toast. It all tasted relatively okay, like something from Hometown Buffet back in the day or Sizzler's buffet. There was no salads or veggie options. The fruit was fresh. The desserts were similar to what you would find in the Ritz Carlton club section of any Ritz. Then the security was stalking everyone in the halls. There was no room between the tables and chairs and food was oddly placed near the entrance of the buffet. It was rushed and rude. It was so loud you couldnt hear yourself speak and every child there looked sad and bored and was not eating. So disappointed . Nothing like the buffets in Hawaii, even SF Fairmont buffet is much better.
We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. The food was excellent and the wine chosen for the pairing complimented the food completely. The service was impeccable. It was my birthday and after the dessert was served the restaurant presented me with a small box of chocolates as a present for my birthday. They were delicious and so much better than cake and ice cream.
My fiancée and I celebrated her birthday with an array of delicacies while watching a beautiful sunset view. The ambiance was mood setting, the staff attended to our every need and the location was set for a perfect night.
The food is very good. It is a well presented selection of quality dishes. Everything I had was very well prepared. The quality of ingredients is excellent. Don’t expect traditional fare. You will get familiar items done with excellent levels of details. That’s not to say that everything tastes incredible. Everyone’s taste is different and I gravitated towards some dishes that my wife did not. That said its going to be hard to be disappointed. Service is great with food and views to match.
Location and service gain my recommendation. Food was not at all to level expected for the restaurant and chef @ the Ritz-Carlton.
Expensive and elegant
