New Rebozo Oak Park
Amazing food and experience overall! Chef Paco is one of a kind!
The best food in town. Paco is great! Service and atmosphere excellent.
Chef Paco has been creating original and delectable dishes for twenty years in Oak Park. Our children have grown up tasting and making yummy guacamole in Chef's restaurant. 10 or more years from when they did these "field trips" with our Apple Award winning gym teacher, one of our children says it was the most memorable field trip ever!
Chef Paco pays special attention to all his guests. His personal touch can be felt in the ambiance, food, and service. If you haven't tried it, the jicama salad is a must have appetizer in the summer months. It's a tangy, citrus-filled, refreshing salad medley of jicama, mango, tangerine, cucumber, lime, and spices. Delicious!
Very disappointing. They had our reservation because I got a phone call from them to confirm we were coming. It was a Saturday eve, 7:00pm reservation for 3. It was busy. When we arrived at 6:58pm, there were 5 people standing in line at the check-in desk (party of 2 and one of 3). Soon, there were 2 other parties lined up behind us (party of 3 and one of 4). All of us had reservations through Open Table. We chatted, frustrated, in line. The line was out the door onto the sidewalk. A very cramped space. We all were squished together and had to maneuver to allow diners to squeeze by to leave the restaurant. We waited 12 minutes before anyone acknowledged our existence. The young woman hostess (19 to 22 years old?) who seats the guests was also cleaning tables and taking salsa and chips to the tables. No one greeted any of us in line, saying, "welcome" or we will be with you soon"... When it was finally our turn, the hostess never asked if we had a reservation, what our name was (in order to mark down our reservation with Open Table). I had to ask her twice to take our name to verify we had shown up for our reservation. When she seated two other groups that were standing with us, she just asked "how many in your party?" and never asked their names. The restaurant is cramped. The food was pretty OK, nothing terribly special. If we ever go back, it will not be on a Saturday eve. My husband reminded me that when we had come here years ago it was just "average." REALLY POORLY RUN. Unpleasant eve.
Chef Paco is an outstanding chef and host!
This place is a gem in that you get excellent drinks and food hat is interesting and innovative at a very reasonable price. Chef Paco makes everyone welcome, and his ebullience and enthusiasm sets the tone for all who work for him.
Excellent as always.
Food, drink and the service was wonderful. We really enjoyed ourselves!
New Rebozo Mexican Restaurant was great, I liked the idea that the chef came out to great us and announced the type of menu and explained the different courses of the menu. The food was well prepared and it was hot. This was one the best Mexican cuisine that me and my family had.
The food is excellent. Chef Paco is one of a kind. His moles are unique and delicious.
Chef Paco is the best no matter what you order has wonderful flavor This is a must great outdoor seating as well resversations recommended
Friendly, lovely, great attention to detail in every way!
Love this restaurant, great Mexican food. Chef Paco is the best!
Lupe is an amazing server and can always anticipate our needs
We love this restaurant. The owners personalized sharing specials with each table is a nice feature. The food and drinks were both very good
Unfortunately this place has gone down in quality of food and service with prices going up. Love chef Pavo- however the service was awful. Had reservations. Were seated at a table with water already poured with melted ice. No menus given. About 10 min later chef came to explain specials. Waitress came and brought menus. Ordered guacamole appetizer- not fresh. Other places that make it table side are better. Ran out of chips and water. Had to take water from nearby table. Food ok. Used to be my ch fresher. Waitress never asked how food was. Finally came and ordered a margarita but it took over 25 min and arrived after dinner. Horrible service. Combined with Chicago downtown prices and low food quality there are better options with creative Mexican food elsewhere. Sorry- but honest.
Paco is the best and the food never disappoints
The food was delicious & seasoned perfectly!
Delicious food and wonderful service. Chef Paco personally explained the special menu.
Outstanding meal, some of the finest Cuisine we've had in over a year. Treated like we were visiting family. The chef comes out and explains the menu and why he loves each dish so much. A great experience.
I love this place! Food is terrific and the service is great also. The owner comes to each table and explains the specials of the day. Unfortunately for me I only eat tacos but Paco's Tacos cannot be beat. Oh my God!
Great moles Chef Paco was awesome and does a great job at his place.
One of our favorite spots and the best mole restaurant in Chicagoland. Chef Paco is the best!
Great! The chef was amazing and came by our table to explain the main dishes.
Just not impressed. I’ve tried many times. Gave up and tried once more. Won’t be back.
The Fiesta Mole is still wonderful! New Rebozo is consistently good.
I so enjoyed the Cinco de Mayo menu.
The lamb dish was outstanding along with the pork tacos. The value was outstanding as well.
Excellent authentic Mexican food experience. One of the best! OMG Chef Paco knows how to cook up great tasting food. The chicken fajitas are amazing and so is the rest of the menu.
Also innovative food, great service and tasty cocktails
Excellent food - fresh, creative and delicious. I will return!
I love this place. Paco makes the atmosphere. This is one of my favorite restaurants.
Easily the best food and service in Oak Park. You should go-again and again and again.
We had a reservation but still had to wait 40 minutes to be seated. It was a busy Friday night. We are regulars and this usually does not happen. We love New Rebozo!
Amazing and friendly services? The mole sauces were phenomenal, and fun drinks
All the specials were amazing. Tamarind margaritas were very good.
We've not been here for a few years, tried it again and were not disappointed. The food, ambiance and people watching were very satisfying. So often a "Mexican" restaurant will serve a generic menu that a general clientele has come to expect. The menu at New Rebozo is unique, with ingredients and flavors specific to indigenous regions. Also, we notice a lot of people of Mexican descent dining at the restaurant, another indicator of the quality and character of this restaurant. On a Saturday, it was quite crowded of course, with wait times even for those with reservations, but nobody seemed to mind. We also liked the express service of being able to pay our check at the table with the server scanning our card into his phone. Very convenient.
The best Mexican food out there. The fiesta mole is amazing and I can’t pass up the tortilla soup. From Chef Paco to everyone that works here, the service is great.
Chef Paco and his employees were amazing. Great customer service. Best restaurant I’ve ever been at. Food is great and authentic. Definitely going back to this place.
Chef Paco is such a sweet, talented man. Fiesta Mole had cashew, hazelnut, sunflower, poblano, pumpkin, chocolate and a magnificent almond! Wow! Worth the price, the trip, everything!
Chef Paco loves food and loves his guests. The special empanada appetizer with corn did not disappoint. The mole special sauces were amazing--I had two that I'd not tried before, including one that was Paco's creation. My boyfriend had skirt steak, which was grilled to perfection. And I told him that my taking him to New Rebozo was a test of his taste...he passed. He loved it as much as I do, so now it can become our place! As always, delicioso.
