O Steaks & Seafood South
An Enjoyable dining experience in the heart of downtown Concord.
Food was delish and service was great!
Our server was great, as were our drinks, calamari app and my salad! Unfortunately our ribeye had the flavor and texture of a sirloin, chewy and lacking the marbling you expect in a great ribeye. Perhaps that particular cut just happened to be poor quality, but when "steak" is in the restaurant's name and you're paying nearly $50 for it, you expect it to be great every time. Mgmt credited us for the price of an app but that doesn't quite measure up to a $50 steak. It's not a price we'd be willing to pay to take a chance again. If we go back it will be for the expertly mixed drinks and lively atmosphere; its a great spot for weekend drinks & people watching. Canoe in Center Harbor is still our family favorite.
The service was impeccable. Unfortunately the noise level makes it impossible to have a conversation in the dining room. Two of our seven had Salmon and raved about it. Those who had beef felt it was ok but nothing special. Have had better steak at Longhorns. We asked for medium rare and received well done. Would go back for a sandwich on the bar but not for fine dining.
Pretty good food.
The acoustics are quite poor and playing the music to be heard was way too much noise. The server was friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. I had the seafood carbonara. I know what ingredients go into this dish and it should be light to enhance the taste of seafood. My dish was overwhelmed with bacon and in a heavy, copious sauce. I ate what I could of the seafood that was fresh and tasty. The spinach fettuccini was well prepared. Overall, I was disappointed and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special night out.
Terrible! Reserved table well advance of the evening and we were seated in a room in the hotel next door. The room can be best described as looking like a Hapmton Inn breakfast area. I asked the hostess for a table in the restaurant and was declined even though tables were empty and available. Waited 25 minites for a server to show up at my table and then ordered drinks. Drinks arrive 15 minites later with ice melted as they must have sat at the bar. The servers cadence was off as a new course would arrive before we finished the previous course. It was a price fixe menue for NYE and food had to be mass produced ahead of time as it was dry or cold. Server was indifferent with any issues we brought up.
Horrible experience. I will take my corporate business elsewhere.
We enjoyed diner with friend for New Year’s Eve. The pre fixed menu was well prepared. Good atmosphere great food
Before I start I want to say we have had great experiences in the past.
This time was really loud and although the server was polite and food was good for the most part
It will be hard for me to go back.
They were offereing five course dinner options on nye and I didn’t get my veg the server brought some out and we were charged 12.00 for it. My husbands filet was well done instead of medium so the took 6.00 off (52.00) dinner.
We didn’t leave all warm and fuzzy but disappointed.
There were four of us and drinks we expected to spend some cash but thought over all overpriced.
Amazing food and service!!
I made reservations for 5pm, when we came in the hostess said we were sitting in a conference room (which is strange) she brought us to the room that wasn't even set up, lights were off, tables were not done... She told us to hang on and they would set it up. I said absolutely not... next we went back to the hostess station and waited 10 more minutes which is strange because the main dining room was wide open. I feel if you make a reservation you should be able to sit in the dining room and on time. To be put in a conference room without ambiance was insulting. Food and service was good but the overall experiencing lead us to not do a New Year's at this restaurant again!
Great food, service and overall experience.
Other than the high noise level which seems to be a problem there, this is a great restaurant that Concord and area is lucky to have.
Excellent food and amazing service. A very special Christmas Eve dinner. Thank you
O is always a great choice it is in the pricey side but I tell you the food is absolutely worth it love this place and I will keep coming back. And there specials are always fantastic I don’t think I have ordered anything except the specials every time I have gone. Except the potstickers because they are amazing.
Food was excellent, nice selection of steaks and the escargot was very good
We went to O Steaks & Seafood because we were catching a show at Capital Center for the Arts. Our app was good ...Calamari. I ordered the Ahi Tuna which was pretty good however it said it had tempura Broccolini Which it did but only one piece of broccolini! My boyfriend ordered a burger cooked medium and it was very over cooked and dry. Our waitress spent more time on the party of four next to us which was irritating. She did remove the burger from our bill and that was nice. It was hard to enjoy being there because it was quite loud and we kept saying “what?” To one another. I am not sure we will return.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere, food, friendly staff. We had a very nice evening and will most definitely visit again.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere at a surprising value. Will definitely return!
Nice meal great service but very loud
We were headed to attend Jersey Boys down the street and had 45 min to eat. Our waitstaff was effiicent and helped us choose our dinner selection to make sure we would be done in time. Thanks for being so attentive and quick to get us served and out of there in time to see the musical. What a wonderful dinner! I definitely recommend the calamari, orange chicken, and oysters on the half shell. DELISH!
Overall our experience was very good. Chelsea was our server and was over the top excellent!! A couple of things not in her control was a bottle of champagne that was no where near chilled. Had to ask for ice cubes to put in the glasses, which worked fine as the champagne did not sit in the glasses long to get watered down ! The mac n' cheese was only luke warm and had to be warmed up. The carrot cake, all 3 agreed had the consistency and taste of dense gingerbread and not light carrot cake.... Other than that, the rest of our meal (8 of us) had great appetizers, dinners and desserts.......We had fun, Chelsea was a hoot and so much fun and the kitchen played along with a joke of ours and was absolutely great !! We would go again for sure... Pricey but it was all worth it ! Just a couple of tweaks to be made to make it really great !
Excellent meal and service! Well worth the money for a special night out.
Food was great came out at all diffrent times and one dish didn’t even come out waitress was awesome but kitchen failed bad this time
Great food. Good service. Good ambiance. We sat in the conference room, which felt a little sterile, but otherwise good. The bar closes at 10:00 on a Friday, so be aware for a late reservation.
Food came out cold sent it back and took an additional 30mins. Ordered a second drink when our food was finally served and never received it, waitress realized once she came to clean up the plates.
My parents made it a rule never to eat seafood except within sight of salt water. I am sorry to say that our dinner at the O steakhouse and seafood restaurant was supportive of their caution.
The oysters from the raw bar were only doubtfully fresh and the flesh of the mollusks all too consistently contained shards of shell. The scallops may have been caught on dayboats but they were not sufficiently cooked to prevent them from tasting a bit stale. The parmesan cheese in the risotto more than covered that, however, overwhelming the scallops.
Too this off with a $200 tab for a dinner for three and you get two stars
Three friends and I drove from Newburyport, MA, to see an 8:00 p.m. show at the CHUBB Theatre on a Friday night First time ever in Concord. Picked the restaurant by proximity to the theatre and parking garage. Had to call to get our reservation pushed back 15 minutes due to an accident on highway. No problem. Two of us each had the 1/2 rack of lamb; one the ahi tuna; and one the seafood carbonara. It was all perfection. The hot rolls were wonderful, and Elizabeth and Donnie the best servers ever. We had mentioned we were going to the theatre, and our meals arrived right away, but we never felt rushed. We will come back and will tell our friends. An asset to the theatre and the community. Thanks so much!
Food was very good but a bit pricey.
Waitress never introduced herself.
Restaurant was relatively Smokey from open kitchen. Need improved ventilation system.
It was my first time at O, and we were celebrating my 37th birthday. It was such a special, wonderful experience for dinner and would come back for a special occasion.
Great food and service, though this restaurant is very loud with the really high ceilings an nothing to absorb the sound.
A reservation was made, but we still had to wait. Upon arrival, we were told restaurant was backed up a bit even though there were numerous empty tables. Once seated, the service was fine with the exception of one order which was a bit over cooked.
I would recommend O's for lunch or drinks/appetizers. Its dinner menu is pretty much limited to steak. Not much else for non-steak eaters. Three out of four of us who ordered cocktails from the menu received our drinks missing a key liquor ingredient. It's not like we ordered something not on the drink menu ….
Food isn’t as good as it used to be. Too expensive for ho-hum.
Everything was great, as always. Our server was AWESOME. He even cut a loose thread off of my dress for me. We will be coming back again.
I was hoping for the best, and came away disappointed. Service by both the hostess and the waitperson was amateur. The hostess seemed surprised/put out that we had a reservation, and the waitperson took longer than necessary, and made rookie mistakes like asking my husband if he wanted a glass for his beer after she brought it, and when he said yes, it took her a few minutes to come back with it. The table doesn't have salt/pepper, and I had to ask for it for my baked potato. (Who doesn't provide salt with a naked baked potato?) The plating was strange - we each had a steak and two sides, which all came on their very own plates. Our dessert, carrot cake, which was unexceptional. And what in the world is up with serving the table bread in a paper bag? That was just silly. And to top it off, we each ordered our steaks medium, but my husband's was clearly rare. He was okay with it, but another person would have sent it back. I expect more from a restaurant that bills itself as a steakhouse. Next time, I'll drive to the Chophouse in Manchester.
Decent steak and atmosphere, but overpriced for what you're getting. Its been a goal of mine to check out every steakhouse in Boston and NH, and I've made it through most. O has Boston prices, but missed the boat on most things
This would have been a 4 or 5 star review if these were $30 steaks, but for steaks in the high $40s/low $50s we expected much better quality, service and ambiance.
I'd go back, but definitely won't be getting the steaks or cocktails. The oysters and potatoes au gratin were delicious, and wine by the bottle was reasonably priced (for a restaurant).
There were two of us dining. We found the selection of appetizers limited.Limited in that they seemed like small portions of meals rather than snacks. We wanted to have a drink and have appetizers. We had French fries , which were good. Drinks were good. My wife had steak and onion rings. The onion rings were excellent. She said the steak was over tenderized. I had scalloped potatoes and a pork chop. The potatoes were ok but the chop was very disappointing. it was very fatty. Service was good .
We had eaten at O’s several times in the past. We thought it had the best steaks of any restaurant in Concord. This time, we were very disappointed. Steaks were very ordinary in flavor. I ordered medium rare and got medium. Our son in law ordered medium and got medium rare to rare. The oysters which previously were in the half shell and broiled quickly, were out of the shell and fried. Nowhere near as good. Very expensive for an ordinary meal.
They were very flexible and accommodating with our last minute reservation changes. The food is always good. The service was a little slow and it wasn’t busy. I think they forgot to put in one of my sides so it didn’t come out with my main dish.
