Delicious food, superb service! I recommend the Squid Risotto!
A great meal - felt very pampered and the food was delicious.
Always the best. Our go to restaurant for the 20 years we have lived in Santa Barbara.
Superb Italian fare, innovative specials of the day and a raspberry creme brulee not "to be missed!"
We celebrated our 27th anniversary. As always a lovely dinner to be had at Olio e Limone. Thank you Elaine
Food was exquisite and they had an extensive menu.
Favorite Italian restaurant in Santa Barbara!
My wife and I, along with another couple, have been returning patrons of the restaurant for many years for our traditional New Year's dinner and escape from LA to Santa Barbara for a foursome four day get away. Elaine Murillo operates one of the finest dining establishments anywhere. The cuisine, service and ambience are always excellent.
In addition to the above, her husband and I, close friends of almost 60 years, had our annual "Guy's Retreat" this past weekend in Santa Barbara. Of course, dinner was at Olio al fresco. The outdoor dining experience was exceptional. A great deal of effort and expense has been expended to make dining charming and delightful. As always, the cuisine and service lived up to Elaine's high standard.
Our foursome will be returning to Olio this New Year's Eve once again!
This is not the first time we have come here and it won't be the last. We had the fish special with side of Vegetables and potatoes and had sorbet for dessert. First class experience. Definitely recommend.
Great service from start to finish, as we walked in the door to leaving. Such a beautiful atmosphere
Incredible, fresh food. Great service. Generous portions.
You will never be disappointed at this establishment. Everyday dining, special occasion, date, business, they will do their best to make it memorable. The service is detailed, friendly and attentive without being pretentious. The quality of the food is outstanding. We have tried most items on the menu and have never had a complaint. The Dover Sole is always my favorite, with a salad as a first course and pasta second course split between 2 people and then a cannoli for dessert. Their burrata is delicious.
Tiramisu is always a good bet, and of course the gelato for dessert.
Their veal chops are excellent. Vegetable sides are fresh and simply prepared.
The fish and dessert were outstanding. Would have appreciated being waited on by the same individual.
we have eaten here every time we are in Santa Barbara and it has been terrific each and every time! Service is spot on. We had veal ravioli with truffle. amazing plus roasted white asparagus ! Server selected two very nice reds to go with each. Looking forward to our next visit!!
Have always enjoyed Olio e Limone but this visit was exceptional. We went for my son's birthday and the appetizer, white asparagus with pancetta and truffles, was wonderful. I had the cod with hearts of palm and spinach and the fish was cooked perfectly and the dish as a whole was terrific. My son's pasta was also fantastic. I always tell people that this is an example of high quality ingredients cooked to perfection. As always the service was great. I hope they keep the tables on the sidewalk/street.
Always excellent food and the street ambiance works just fine these days
39th wedding anniversary
Overall excellent. Friendly staff, very well prepare fresh food; high quality wines by the glass
Felt safe with the customer spacing. Food was great
We had a lovely time. The food was delicious. Our waiter was delightful. Looking forward to going back soon.
Truly excellent southern Italian food
Greet outside set up. Wonderful service and amazing food
Great food from scratch ! Nice people , quiet , romantic . Food came out hot and fast and was delicious . Took my wife for her birthday and she loved it
The Covid lock downs have left restaurants scrambling for staff when they try to reopen. It shows up in the degradation in the quality and speed of service. It doesn't help that we have to eat outside on the sidewalk where there is constant foot traffic. I have no desire to have passerbyes inspect what I'm eating. Time to open up inside dining and time to hire upgraded staff.
Good food and cocktails. We were seating outside and it was warm in early afternoon but later , when it got chilly, they tried to turn on the heaters , they were dying ( no gas) and it was cold to seat and enjoy the food. It’s my only complain but otherwise I Definitely could see myself going back.
Alberto, where are you? Your restaurant needs you!
We have been to Olio e Limone many times and have consistently rated it as by far the best Italian restaurant in SB, serving exquisite food, expertly prepared. Sadly, for our anniversary dinner this year, we were deeply disappointed. The aubergine soufflé bore no resemblance to a soufflé; it was a rather mealy and tasteless luke-warm "thing" that needed every mouthful of the delicious tomato sauce that came with it. My crab-cake was tiny and massively over-salted. For the main course my wife (who grew up in Italy and knows a thing or two about Italian food) had the Pasta Bottarga. A vast bowl of too-dry pasta arrived, with barely any bottarga. What there was was very mild in taste, and missing the breadcrumbs and garnish of parsley that is an essential part of the recipe. I had the seafood salad, which was ok, but far from remarkable, and swimming in a lake of dressing. A dead giveaway that something was amiss was the fact that every plate appeared disconcertingly fast - in less than 5 minutes from order, something that never happens in a normal kitchen. This instantly signaled that everything was pre-cooked, re-heated and thrown together by an assistant instead of being cooked to order. For the money one pays at Olio, this is disgraceful and we felt as if we were being rushed, and served with sub standard food. Our Argentinian waiter was excellent. The rest of the staff seems rather careless and unmanaged. The topper was that despite my notification in the reservation that it was our anniversary, they completely overlooked the fact. All this cost us over $200. Alberto, get back in there, and save your restaurant. It's a disaster.
I’ve been dining here for over 15 years. Consistently delicious and authentic Italian food, plated exquisitely
and served graciously. I live in LA and on special occasions. I have even driven 2 hours each way for “a trip to Italy”.
During Covid they’ve set up a charming patio for alfresco dining.
First time visiting.....can sit outside or inside.
Food was good.....
brother visiting from europe....and he enjoyed it as well
The food seemed uneven at our recent visit. Also, the menu featured a lot of chicken instead of some nice veal dishes, quail, and fish. I ordered a quail and mushroom pasta. I could taste nothing except the heavy red sauce. Wasn't even a fresh tomato sauce, which would have provided a more delicate flavor. Just disappointed this time. My husband and friend liked their duck raviolis. We will return but we've also discovered even better and more authentic Italian cuisine elsewhere in Santa Barbara.
A person, who seemed to be the owner or leader, was unnecessarily abrupt when I asked him a question.
My friend and I had a wonderful lunch at olio recently I had the fixed price menu with a wonderful creamy asparagus soup that was vegan the salmon portion was so big I took almost half home we also enjoyed the panna cotta for dessert which was delicious.
We had a great Easter dinner at Olio e Limone Restaurant. Food and service were excellent. Ambience was nice and relaxed.
We did not find the food to be exceptional. Pasta was just OK.
Great ambiance, fantastic service, and exquisite food. I will be returning.
Always a varied and interesting menu. Great service and comfortable dining room with great music.
For son’s birthday I took him and his gf to Olio e Limone - one of our first excursions to a restaurant that can actually SERVE you at a table, in COVID recovery stage where businesses getting back to normal. Server was excellent - we couldn’t decide on a wine so he gave us tasting of 3 of his recommendations and we all agreed on the Italian varietal. We ordered a goat cheese ravioli, and 2 of us had the beef tenderloin atop thin potatoes - all were exquisite. Thank you Olio family - you are always top notch!
A lovely meal , on a warm beautiful Santa Barbara night.
Food was delicious and service very friendly and accommodating.
We both had fish; fresh and tasty!
