Palm Court Restaurant - Arlington Heights
Service was very slow. Very hot, need to turn up A/C.
Always a winner!
I took my family for Father’s Day the food and service was perfect. Give it a try appetizers r great food was Wonderful.👍👍👍
Great food, great service, great drinks (bar). Best pork chops ever.
I've been to Palm Court many times. This restaurant is a sure hit when I take my mother out for lunch. All the customers are usually 60+ but that just means the meal is going to be good and at a reasonable price. Good noise level too. Service is usually great.
Very nice ambience in a dinner club setting. Excellent high quality food (prime aged) meats.
I have been dining at Palm Court for many years.
Under new ownership since December 2018.
The new owner is very cordial and accomodating.
Lot more items on the menu. Prices a bit high.
Cocktails priced well. My wife ordered a long island and said it needed more liquor. She had better elsewhere. Meat portions enough but very stingy on rice, vegetables and small baked potatoe.
The manager over heard my comments to the waitress. He was accommodating to give more.
He also mentioned that he was going to discuss with the kitchen staff.
Has all 3 factors, good food, service, and ambiance.
This is one of our favorite restaurants
Always good food and the prices are reasonable
I ordered the lamb chops. They were very dry and had no taste.
Love this place. Reminds me of the old supper clubs. 6 of us had a couple drinks at the bar. Drinks r great. We sat in the bar area for dinner. love the piano music. Our waitress Terrible. Rude in fact. We asked for water took forever to come. I asked for a Coke never got it. Wanted some extra lemon for my Dover Sole I’m still waiting. I think we might have been bothering her. Food was very good! The 2 Dover Soles excellent. 3 prime ribs ordered at 3 different temperatures but all came out rare but delicious. Pork Chops were very dry left em after waitress saw her tip she ran after us n gave us the doggie bag. Might have asked why he only ate one bite when she bagged em. I would come back but never have her as our server. A Waitress can make bad food good, or make good food bad.
It's a lovely restaurant that has been around for years
We love it
This old timer still has some great steaks, prime rib and other entrees. Definitely the geriatric crowd. Reservations are a must on weekends.
Food continues to be high quality and service good
My wife and me have eaten here for years.New owners are trying to modernize menu, which is a great idea. But not at the expense of Qaulity and service which is exactly what’s happening.
Host and wait staff were super friendly and attentive. Our lunch was delicious (and portion was generous enough for take-home meal). Attractive surroundings, convenient parking lot. It's a 15-mile drive from my home but well worth the trip.
Even with a reservation they tried to squeeze us at a table with all the chairs back to back! Had to ask for another table. Food was mediocre at best and the service was hurried.
Food was good. We waited over 45 mins to be seated.
The ambiance was nice. Food was passable. French onion soup - piece of bread was so hard it couldn't be cut in the soup. Service was terrible - server was not attentive. She was rushing off after every contact with us. Not friendly. It was for a birthday. She came with a tiny piece of red velvet cake lit the candle and left. Did not ask or bring menus for the rest of the table to see if we wanted dessert. We had to wait to get her attention.
Overall good food and service. Some dishes not as good as in the past. Service a bit slow but attentive when present. Quiet atmosphere and comfortable seating. Value OK. Paid $50 per person with minimal wine.
Consistent excellent service (Barbara is always on point!!) and good food. Great for business meetings.
Palm Court is one of my favorite restaurants and a go to when dining with friends! Food is good and the service is goo, too!
As always,,” fabulous. Perfect dinner club. And the entertainment (Saturday’s and Thursday’s) piano player is unbelievable.
Great special dinner and a very nice touch with the personalized printed menus! What fun!
Husband’s filet mignon was perfect, grilled to perfection. My prime Rib was amazing as well. Classic place.
Some of the best meals we have had. The Filet was outstanding and my wife's prime rib was as equally exceptional. Service was great. Pricing is on par.
This new reservation made the going to the Palm Court easy.
Slow service, ditzy waitress, had requested booth in bar only to find out it was closed, normal dinner is 1.25 a 1.5 hrs. This was 2:15. Pink steak wasn't, no support from management. Have been eating at this restaurant for 30 years.
A wonderful dining experience, and they were so accommodating in seating us to deal with hearing difficulties.
We had a 645 reservation and arrived at 635. We got seated at 8PM. We waited another 10 minutes for the server to acknowledge us. Rolls were served and were burned. Our side orders were sold out so we got hard baked potatoes instead. The shrimp were overcooked and tough, steaks were not cooked to order. They gave us free dessert but what we ordered was sold out by the time the server came back. This was a Mother's Day dinner and I expect it to be busy but they truly didn't seem to care. It was $250 wasted. I will never go back and would not recommend.
They overbooked the restaurant!! They were 1 to 2 hours behind. We are NOT going back!
Docked 3 stars from my rating 1 each for the following:
-1 There was a piece of plastic in one of the soups. Notified wait staff and was told another soup would be provided. Once main course was served without the replacement soup being served, that person elected to skip the soup.
-1 One of the steaks delivered, while prepared as requested, was not the same/correct cut as ordered.
-1 When check was first dropped off at table, there were additional charges on it for beverages that we neither ordered or were served. Someone who might be less attentive to checking the bill would have been out $20+.
Mother’s Day. Had a reservation and had to wait an hour to be seated. Not one apology. Not on staff. Totally on ownership/management
Food Quality has increased along with the prices but still enjoying
The food was great and the price was as expected. Loved the dinner club atmosphere with Frank Sinatra music
But the business is run very poorly. Everyone has to make a reservation, but they do not have a table waiting. You are put on a list, first come first served. And then there is no limit to the reservations that they take.
We only waited a half hour with reservations at 4:30 but the crowd behind must have waited much longer. The waiting crowd spilled down the isles close to our table. They watched us as we sat waiting, waiting at the beginning, middle and end of the meal.
It was torture. I do not blame the waitress, I think the owners just over tax their whole system and it broke.
We went to Palm Court on Mother’s Day. While there were many people there, we were seated right away and the service was great. I had the lamb chops with mashed potatoes. They were cooked as I ordered and were delicious. Took the leftovers home and couldn’t wait to enjoy them the next day. A delightful experience. They gave the Moms a complimentary rose and lollipop cake as well. Palm Court is one of our favorite restaurants.
Nice meal, excellent service
I recommend, with a caveat. We've been coming to Palm Court for many years. It's always been very consistent- good food & service, but not this visit. First, with a reservation, we waited over 35 minutes to be seated. The hostess seemed very confused & disorganized. Finally, after telling the new owner, we were shown to a table. (He did offer a free appetizer to compensate, which was a nice gesture.) It took at least 20 minutes to get water & the attention of our server. She brought stale bread. Bread was sent back 3 times- never really great, but we figured that was what we were getting this night. Again, not their usual. When we asked the server what the problem was, she said she hadn't tried the bread, so didn't know. Appetizer (scallops) finally came. It was ok..... Then we sat, at least 40 minutes more until we could finally get the attention of the server to order meals. Meals came & were Luke warm. We were so hungry, we didn't send them back (but should have.) We'll probably give it one more chance, after that, adios.
Although a very busy evening, the Saturday before Mother’s Day, we were greeted with a smile and seated only 15 after our reservation time. That was fine with us as we were able to enjoy a delicious old fashioned and a Manhattan (made the way they SHOULD be) at the bar.
Appetizer: prince Edward mussels over angel hair with beurre blanc sauce.
Entree: Dover sole fileted tableside with a delicate almondine sauce on the side.
Served with soup/salad potato/vegetable!
I had the cream of asparagus soup.
Entree: Veal Oscar topped with real crab, asparagus and a delicious bearnaise on top.
Our server was very busy but never made us feel rushed or burdened.
Brandy ice for dessert!
Piano player in the lounge that could play anything!
A wonderful supper club right here in the suburbs taking you back in time with great food and great service!
My husband and I took my elderly parents out for an early 6:15 dinner on a Saturday. I made reservations and asked for a quiet table. We did not get seated until 6:30 and our table was next to the speaker for the piano player. When I mentioned we asked for a quiet table, we were told it would be “sometime” before a quieter table was open.
The music was lovely and the player took requests, it was difficult to hear one another. Our poor waitress was as efficient as she could be, but was running around like crazy. The food was quite good, no doubt one of the reasons the place was so crowded. Next time I will try on a weeknight.
George and the entire wait staff are marvelous!! The menu is varied and flexible, and the food is always fresh.
