Pampa Brazilian Steakhouse Calgary Downtown
One of our servers didn't know the difference between 'blue rare' and 'rare', and we got a little attitude from him. Also I don't like that they include the tip to your bill for brunch, especially since
We weren't happy with our service.
it was very good experience they should offer more deals every week or start rodizio happy hour
4 of us from work went to Pampa yesterday. Stale mushy salad and stale cheese bread from day before. We were told this was their anniversary and lunch was special at $19.99. They charged $4.50 for a pop; that's pretty high in any restaurant. One of the meat servers, seemed to be new. He had a "dull" knife and mutilated the meat as he was cutting, dropping grease on the table and pieces of meat of the floor. No one came by to clean up the mess. Quality of meat was terrible. 4 out of 5 meats I tried were tough as nail and had a hard time cutting them with my steak knife. Not sure of the meat was not tenderized or whether it was not cut well. This was the first time I was at Pampa. I will NOT be going back again. Our server was nice but the quality of the food (salad, cheese bread and meats) and the food servers were terrible.
The food was a disappointment but the service was good. The meats were average and the salad bar could have been better for the price.
Overall the dining experience was mediocre. Our first round of meat did not come until 45 minutes into our 2 hour seating, but once management noticed (we were farthest away, close to the front door), they made sure we had ample visits to the table. Multiple skewers came out completely RAW (not rare, not even blue rare, look like it just came out of the grocery store package with barely a sear on the outside). We had to send it away multiple times, asking for something closer to medium rare or medium. This was only for the beef, as the lamb, chicken, and pork were all delicious.
Overall sides and extras were good, service was very good once they knew we weren't getting skewers when we sat down. The manager seemed to save the experience, as otherwise we likely would not have came back.
Overall OK experience, fairly pricy by the time you add in anything extra and going with light eaters. Restaurant is clean and beautiful.
Gary, the Grill master was fantastic. Very attentive in making sure we got all the meats we enjoyed! Great fun atmosphere! It is not an inexpensive evening, but a great treat for us and food was fantastic!
Fantastic. Server was great, and the guys Serving the meat was fantastic
Matthew our server was fantastic and we really enjoyed his friendly style.
It was excellent,
Great service and great food. The server (Matt I believe?) did an excellent job and was they for us the perfect amount and had a great attitude. The food spoke for itself!.
Great ambience, great food, excellent service.
The services we received at Pampa was awesome. Great salad bar with lots options! Meats are all very good cuts but somehow salty. Great place to dine
I paid the same price for my 13 year old as an adult and was really not worth the value for the amount I paid as he ate 1/3 of what I ate
We've been to Pampa a few times and it has always been great food and service. We went again on New Year's Eve and were not overly impressed. Pricing that night was ridiculous, raised to $79.99/person. They had a few extra meats added to the menu, however, we only had shrimp come around to the table twice, so two shrimp each, and the wild boar, one time, only one piece each. Service was not up to par and the frequency of coming around to the table with the different meat options was quite low. All of the red meat options were super rare and bloody compared to the usual. We were a table of 4 and each of us had one drink and 18% gratuity was added to each couples bill. In total, for 4 people we paid $236 per couple which was an absolute rip off. We could have spent the same going to a high end restaurant. Learned our lesson, never again. Pampa is off our list of places to eat now.
Very expensive and the sale bar wasn’t that great nor was the food.
This is my second time going and the service was not as good as the first time. We went for brunch and had a table of 8. We were put at the very last table in the restaurant and seemed to be forgotten. We had to continue to ask for servers to come over with food and often when they finally got to us they only had enough food for two or four people. The food was still great and we did got at noon so maybe because it was the busiest time the service was lacking.
I purchased a groupon - Sunday brunch for 4 and it was a great experience. We really enjoyed the Rump steak, caramelized pineapple, sirloin, lamb and pork belly the most. The salad bar was delicious with so many choices and everything was fresh. The wait staff was friendly and passionate about their jobs. Would definitely be back again soon!
Only my second time coming here but I just say it was amazing. My wife and I had made a reservation at 745 (not realizing they were closing at 8) but it was also very busy but we never felt like we had to finish up quickly. Staff were all super friendly and wonderful
Everything was awesome, food service and price is little higher but with Groupon it was ok. I need clarification about gratuity if you buy coupon from Group on then you need to pay 15% service charge or it applys to everyone. This charge seems like applied on top of GST and not only on price of Brunch + any drink that you add on top.We are group of 5 and we have Groupon for 4 people we buy one brunch onsite
but service charges applies on every thing we bought. please advise
Same meats came around multiple times but the ones we wanted we had to ask couple times. Didn’t see the caramelized pineapple until the end of our meal. If you were lucky and got the meat right out of the bbq, it was perfect, if you were getting the last ones, they were overcooked. Overall, still enjoyed dinner, just hope they can be more consistent.
This is the place to go if you love meat! The salad bar is also great!
There were 5 of us for an x-mas lunch. The restaurant was understaffed and disorganized. We waited at least 15 minutes after getting our sides for our first offering of meat and then the following protein offerings were not timely either. As a result most of us finished our sides prior to getting our protein and got up to get more sides as we were hungry. The result is not satisfying from a value perspective as the price tag is based on the proteins available and we ended up filling up on sides like bread, potatoes, rice etc.
Given that most tables were more than four people it is reasonable to assume that groups had made reservations, accordingly there is not excuse for the lack of service.
We felt rushed, even though we agreed to a 2 hour dining experienced we were asked to leave our table 15 minutes early.
As expected, so met expectations. Lots of variety but nothing special. Meat spits came around regularly at the beginning then slowed down. Not sure all the 11 kinds of meat they suggested were on the menu. They really try to upsell you on drinks, dessert etc whatever they can charge. They try to stick to the 2 hour limit allotted on weekends. Accommodating for late parties. Good outing for the experience but wouldn't be a place we will be frequenting.
Meal was very good, lots of choices on the buffet. The meat was the highlight being very flavorful, fresh and tender. The service from our Waiter was excellent. The young hostess was not very friendly and should consider smiling while greeting customers. Over all very good although a bit pricey.
we took my sister and brother in law to Pampa for their first time and they completely enjoyed every aspect of it we will definitely go again. Outstanding food , ambiance and service.
Overall, a great experience. There are a couple Brazilian steakhouses here in Calgary and I would say this is now my favourite. The meat was fantastic and the salad bar was also excellent. A bit more expensive than other restaurants of its kind here in Calgary but well worth it. The service was tremendous.
Good is always amazing and the service is fantastic.
It was a great brunch but the salad bar was a little weak and the variety of meat presented at our table was limited until we asked for the better cut. We still really enjoyed the day.
The steak was great, chicken was a bit dry, all the other food was excellent.
Food was extremely disappointing. Salad bar selection was minimal and the meet was very well cooked, and typically a bit dry. Nothing for people who eat their beef rare or even medium rare. Waitress sucked. Had to flag her down on more than 1 occasion but the people carrying and serving the meat were polite, friendly and gave good service.
Th food was amazing and the service was friendly, our table was not level and our server fixed it right away.
My first visit. I really enjoyed the food and service!
Tasty meats, I loved the caramelized pineapple and the crispy pork belly. yummy! Food and ambience is very good.
Amazing staff and food. The salad bar was delicious and all the meats were delicious and well cooked. Everyone how served us was amazing. Would definitely go back
Always great food no matter what location, recommended everybody goes here. Delicious
Need some fruits in the salad bar. Overall it was a very good experience.
Each time we go back the service improves to a higher standard than other similarly priced restaurants. This is quickly becoming our new favourite place to go. Food has always been great.
The salad bar was not the one I expected or the way it’s been explained on their website. Scrambled eggs??? It was with basa!!!!! No not really good. I was not impressed at all. I won’t recommend this place to any of friends. The service was awful.
The food services was great!
