Parkers' Restaurant & Bar
Great food and service!
Great food. Excellent service. Recognition of my wife’s birthday. Noise level is a bit high. Overall an enjoyable experience.
We had an excellent dinner and outstanding service
Had a birthday dinner for my wife and our 11 month old granddaughter was with. They took good care of her and us in a quite area which was great. No complaints about the food either, alway enjoy this restaurant.
The food and service was excellent. We were seated in a long area pretty close to two other tables so that wasn't that great. It was also on the expensive side. I would recommend it.
This dinner with friends from out of state was so enjoyable. We weren't isolated, but the noise level was perfect for conversation. Our waiter was informative, helpful, and provided just the right amount of attention. The food was delicious: oysters, bisque, bouillabaisse, salmon, halibut, and short rib -- as was the wine. Not a first visit, and not the last. It's pricy, but with such good quality.
We sat in the bar. Late in the evening. Service was exceptional. So was the food. You have to try the cotton candy dessert!
Great food, service, and atmosphere but the noise level in the back room was very high. It made it hard to hear conversation just across the table without shouting. I don’t know if I’d go back on a Saturday night.
The main dish of Lobster Linguine was just ok. The asparagus overwhelmed the dish. A server comes to your table and sets the 5oz lobster tail directly on top of the pasta. The lobster was not seasoned at all thus, very bland. The presentation looked great but it looked way better than it tasted. Again, the asparagus over powered the dish and covered up any "creamy taste" that was there.
Dessert was great. We liked the tiramisu a lot.
Very frustrating dining experience. Service was slow and the food was not great. Something was way off. Then... the birthday desert debacle. Bush League.
What a lovely and cozy dining room. The whitefish was beautifully prepared. The server was very pleasant and skilled. I look forward to going back.
Took my daughter here for her annual birthday luncheon. The oysters were great, but the Shrimp and Lobster soup was average, though nicely served. The main observation I took away from this restaurant was that the ambient noise level was very high and it was difficult to converse with the person sitting next to me. Add that to the cost, which I considered out of line for the items served. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable.
Food was excellent here and our server Brittany P was outstanding. Very knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive to my wife and myself.
It was my wife's birthday and she made our evening out together an even more memorable one!
We've enjoyed dining at Parker's many times, and the food is always top-notch, but our last Saturday evening visit was far less enjoyable because the restaurant was either overbooked or understaffed (or both). The waits for our drinks and dinner were uncomfortably long and the restaurant was far noisier than we are accustomed to.
Great options, good vibe. Delicious food.
The service was extremely poor. It was clear that for a completely full restaurant the there was not enough wait staff. In 2 hours we only got two drinks. For the price, the quality of food was extremely poor. No flavor to any of the sauces. For a menu that is 50% seafood and for a restaurant to pride itself on its seafood it was a very disappointing meal. Only two things that are any good ate the clam chowder and polenta fries. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone anytime soon.
One of the best meals we have had since moving to the western suburbs from Chicago. Crab cakes were all crab and our steaks were literally melt in our mouths good. We will be regulars.
We are frequent diners of Parkers! Always great food and service!
Bouillabaisse is amazing!!!
Waiter Nick was awesome. So attentive!!
My “go to” place for a business lunch. Food is always excellent and the service, courteous and efficient.
Great dinner! Definitely will come back😊
Wonderful dining experience! Thank you Sarah for making our evening so special! We so appreciated your outstanding service throughout our dinner and making our evening so special! Five star culinary compliments to the chef as we all agreed everything we ordered was amazing!! Thank you to the entire Parkers House Staff for the memorable evening!
We had a family celebration and were very comfortable and able to talk to each other without getting laryngitis by the end of the evening. The crackers and bread served at the beginning were really enjoyed. We all loved our entrees and the one person who is hard to please loved his bouillabaisse because the broth was perfectly seasoned and it had ample fish and seafood. The Maple Spun Sugar was the best surprise for those who never had it!
Food average. Service excellent. Menu OK. Wine list way over the top expensive and complex. Minimum moderate, quality wines.
Our server was outstanding. She really made our evening special. We asked for a quiet table and were seated in a rear room. It was just what we needed - quiet. It wasn't the nicest decor, but we were able to talk to each other comfortably.
Glad we went. Very elegant and cozy. Competes with the likes of Shaws, Mortons, Ruths Chris, Eddie Merlots etc but is a standalone in an eclectic are of Oakbrook but literally Downers Grove. Our server was as good as they come, the atmosphere was warm and comfortable wife's food was better than mine. I had swordfish for the first time in many years presentation was superb but, it didn't knock my socks off .
Wasn't bad now I know why I stick to Filet or Ribeyes. Not a chain and well worth the visit.
Beautiful restaurant with excellent food and great service. My go to whenever in the area.
Excellent food and attentive service. I hope to be in the neighborhood again soon so I can dine there again.
No waiting for table. Hostess suggested location to dine where the noise level would quieter. Excellent food choices for lunch.
Service, drinks and food were all terrific. Great seafood menu but lots of other options are available. The main room(s) seemed a bit noisy but we were seated in a side room that only had about 8 tables so it was a bit more quiet (which I prefer).
Our party of four had a lovely dinner at Parker's on Saturday night after seeing a play at First Folio. My small plate mussels and my husband's short ribs dish both delighted. Our server Andrea was attentive and pleasant.
My only complaint is that I had specifically requested as quiet a table as possible, so I was thrilled when we were seated in a small private room in the back that had only 4 tables. Unfortunately, just 15 minutes into our dining experience, another party of five people were seated at an empty table in the same room. Their voices and laughs were extremely loud, such that we found that OUR party of four had to almost scream over our table to even be heard. I realize that the noise level of people who obviously have no idea they are being so disruptive is not really Parker's problem to control, but unfortunately it did affect our overall dining experience. The small private room also had a mirror on one entire side of the room, and such a hard service does not absorb sounds. I don't think I will likely return to Parker's on a busy weekend - just too loud for my taste, including in the main dining room and certainly in the bar area. A quieter weeknight , yes.
Great place with an amazing piano bar on Saturday night. It was so entertaining they actually allowed us to push our dinner back an hour to enjoy the music and drinks.
Everything from checking in to the bar staff to our waiter and meal was fantastic. Well done Parkers’
Dale was our server and he was excellent! We started with the Oysters Rockefeller and the lobster and shrimp fritters! Both were delicious! Our entrees were Crab Cakes, Lamb chops and the Filet. Every item was excellent! Dessert was excellent too! Thanks again, Dale! We will be back!
We ate in the lounge area, which I found more comfortable and less formal than the main restaurant. The oysters were a delicious selection of three varieties. The sancerre was excellent but obviously at restaurant price. The pork chop (which we both had) was as excellent as ever. For dessert we shared an excellent cheese board with some really interesting choices, accompanied by an excellent, almost prune-like port. Service was attentive and just the right side of friendly. The live piano music was unobtrusive and really added to the atmosphere. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary & once again Parker’s provided an excellent venue. As usual the calamari was exceptional, our salads were crisp & fresh & our main courses (filet mignonette & lamb chops) were perfectly cooked & tasted wonderful. I also have to give kudos to our waiter, Nick. He was wonderful - courteous, attentive & an excellent server.
The food was amazing. i had the superior whitefish and my customer had the filet. Outstanding. The Tiramisu Baked alaska was off the chain.
What a phenomenal hidden gem! Literally everything on the menu was outstanding. We tried the VPN pizza, and s fee appetizers and food was ridiculously good
Parker's is always wonderful... Our waiter was excellent. The food is always exceptional.
This evening was supposed to be my birthday dinner with my parents. I selected birthday in the open table reservation and made a special comment about wanting to sit where we could hear the piano. Neither of these bits of information were noticed by the Parkers staff. It took a good while for our server to attend to us, and then she was so distracted that she told us the specials twice. We seemed to be an after thought to our server as she had a larger party of 12 who was seated right behind us. This was not the special occasion I expected of this restaurant.
