One of our favorite places to dine! We love everything about Parkside Grille!
Great food and service every time we go. Highly recommend goat cheese appetizer.
As usual, Parkside Grille was wonderful. Our hostess, Bill, the owner, the wait staff were all friendly and attentive. The menu is great, lots of diversity with comfort food, wonderful salads and great fish entrees like Mahi Mahi, that make you feel like you're at the beach. It's a real go-to place for us to meet friends.
The food was fantastic, but the wine is very over priced. We were a little frustrated because we had a 7:30 reservation. At 7:45, when we hadn't yet been seated, we asked how much longer we would need to wait as we were hungry. The hostess told us another 20 minutes at least and recommended we order an appetizer in the bar. We did that, and enjoyed the appetizer, but thought it was a missed opportunity for the restaurant to treat us well for making us wait. We weren't seated until 8:15. They could have comped an appetizer at that point (or a dessert). The restaurant is very loud - I wonder if they could do something to mute some of the noise with carpeting or something else. Flower arrangements are gorgeous and the ladies room was clean.
Everything was perfect from the handsome gentleman who greeted us to our happy and knowledgeable server. The pomegranate martini and sole special were great choices.
The elegant but understated ambiance reminds one of a
country inn you might find in New England. It’s easy to see why it’s a local’s favorite!
Good food as usual and very pleasant server. This is a favorite local spot for us.
Fantastic as usual!!!!!!
Very intimate place to eat, isolated & far place to dine! But, the food is delicious!
We had a good time, service was great overall the food varied.
The Ahi was terrific
Apricot Pizza was great as was the Parkside Grill Pizza
We also had the calamari and enjoyed it.
Caesar salad needs improvement. The salad was dry and the croutons were poor (too small and not fresh). No cheese shavings on it.
My suggestion would be to use your leftover bread dough and make your own croutons.
The Boston Cream dessert was a disappointment. It really was white cake that was dry and very little cream.
I would recommend the restaurant but warn people not to order a couple of things.
Excellent food served by a very professional staff. More than met my expectations.
This place delivers! It has become the go-to place to create memories with good friends and family.
As usual, good food with good service in a nice setting, but very noisy this visit.
Excellent service and nice cozy ambiance. Friendly staffs
The food was delicious! The crab and avocado salad was fresh with a gracious serving of both. My husband had a steak cooked as he likes with perfectly crisp and seasoned broccolini. It would have been even better if it had all been served together. A glass of wine was offered as compensation which was nice. The evening proved quite enjoyable.
Great overally experience yet again at this Portola Valley institutions. However, the service was challenging. We had a party of 10 and the server had no idea who had ordered what - every person got the wrong item and we had to figure it out as a table which should not be the case
We had arranged to meet some people we don't see very often, so an ambience quiet enough for good conversation was of the first importance. We had often had lunch at the Parkside Grille, but this was our first dinner experience. The noise level was tolerable, but barely; I could hear the person directly across the table from me but not very well the other person across the table.
The food was good, though I thought the portion of pappardelle with meat sauce was rather on the small side.
Service was excellent.
Great food. Unique menu
This place has declined in the last 4-5 years. The price point was far to high for the just adequate quality of the food. Service was ok. Just not very impressed with this place any longer. Some improvements need to be made.
We were seated 25 minutes after our dinner reservation with no one checking back with us in-between. When we asked the hostess about this at our table she informed us that this was not in her area of responsibility. We told her to pass our comments on to the management (doubtful if she did). Hopefully this review will get to them. The food and wait staff service is always fantastic here. They just need to work on the front-end experience.
We live in Woodside and go to Parkside at least once every other week with friends. Such an easy and good place to bring friends from out of town too.
This is a restaurant should be
The food was wonderful, service was inviting, noise level was disruptive. By the time we could really talk to each other, we realized we were some of the last people still dining. We sat towards the roadside of the restaurant, maybe other sections are quieter.
Just a great all-around place for food, drinks and conversation.
Everything was great except the hostess did not know what OpenTable was or have access to an online reservation system but she still seated me graciously
Another great meal with my sister's three sisters visiting from various parts of the East coast.
Not only was the waitstaff non-existent, but our waiter persisted in talking for 10-15 minutes, chatting away about nonsense, while we were trying to order. Even after the chatty neighboring party left,
our waiter was non-responsive. Even more disturbing, I ordered the "tuna"but somehow managed to
get the Mahi Mahi special, which was awful. I realized too late to send it back, and we couldn't find the wait anyway. This is a lovely place for lunch in the summer under the redwoods, but skip the dinner plan.
We come here occasionally because we live nearby and there aren't many very close restaurant options in this area. Prices are high, and the food is reliably... meh. Service is erratic - sometimes friendly, sometimes less so. Once I turned up 7 minutes late for a reservation and they were not pleasant about it. This place wouldn't survive if there were good neighborhood alternatives.
Convenient neighborhood restaurant with pretty good food and nice ambience and service.
We had a wonderful dinner & great & friendly service as well!
Always love it here!
Food was exceptional. It was a fixed price menu for New Year's Eve.
Hadn't been here for a couple years and forgot how good it is. Food was fabulous and the service excellent.
Magnificent fresh fish creations. Goes will with Chardonnay.
We have been here several times and always found the food excellent. This time, other than the lamb chops (thank God that was still excellent), the food was very average and this restaurant did not stand out! Disappointing!!
We had a fantastic dinner this evening. All of the meals were perfectly prepared. And our service was outstanding. Kudos to the staff..
aggressive waiter paying no attention to details or chef hard of hearing !!*
As usual, Parkside is good food and great service. Staff and owner are very helpful regarding special needs.
Parking can be a problem on busy evenings, but the quiet rural setting is beautiful.
Food is consistently good.
Consistently good food and service. This visit, we were seated in the private dining room and it was underwhelming.
We come here often. It's always good food and pretty good service.
Just enough out of the way. A delightful experience.
