Really great dinner. The food was fabulous. Any of the pastas are to die for. The halibut was delicious and the tuna tower should not be missed
Rene, our wait staff was excellent. Food was very good.
Awesome service, food and vibe. Thanks for a great night
Terrific dinner celebrating our son’s 13th birthday! The dinner and service were top notch. Very comfortable outdoor table and everything was very COVID-19 compliant, but the staff made it all look easy.
This is always a favorite spot for brunch. The atmosphere is perfect to enjoy ones company and dining. The food is always good. The service is always good and people are very friendly.
The outside seating was great, felt safe enough separation. Server was very friendly, helpful. The paste came piping hot and the sauce was excellent.
Food was good. Not haute cuisine but nice. The outdoor covid setup for dining was very nice.
Great outdoor dining with live music that wasn’t loud. The food was great and the presentation was beautiful.
Very nice and safe outdoor setting! I’ll go back for another Sunday Brunch!
The food is always good and the staff is friendly and competent.
Moving outdoors for the pandemic means diners sit in the outdoor part of the busy market next door. It’s not a relaxing environment and the clattering of shopping carts was loud and disruptive. We left without ordering.
Fun pizzas and entrees that are good for the price. I will definitely go back.
Good service and nice menu. Staff is friendly and great place to sit outside and enjoy a meal with your friends and family.
The entire experience was quite nice, the only thing which may have been better is if the power outage had not happened during our meal, or if the pandemic ended. All in all a wonderful meal. Our server was excellent.
Great experience.. always good food😊
Great good and great service.
Food, service, ambience - all good - and we love seeing friends and neighbors there. Bring in more varied performances in the evenings and a larger selection of pinots.
A local dining treat that's sure to please all comers. Glad they're back!
Great service and food while dining outside safely distanced from other diners.
Really good pasta
Portola Kitchen is one of the best restaurants and experiences on the Peninsula. Great food. Great ambiance. Great menu. Beautiful outdoor (and indoor) setting. We eat there frequently and have never once been disappointed in the slightest. We have had larger celebratory dinners as well as couple dinners, and all have been excellent. The owner is friendly and personal and a fine gentleman and greets and welcomes people warmly. Stellar service. Live music outdoors is a special treat.
Amidst this pandemic, Portola Kitchen offers a quiet, quaint and deliciousn night out! We sat on the patio and had lovely service. All of the tables were spaced apart, bread was served in these paper pouches so you knew no one touched them with their bare hands. Likewise, grated cheese was also served on the side and everything seemed well thought out. We were given enough time to relax and enjoy eating out, but also had attentive service. Would highly recommend! This place is a gem with delicious Italian food (try the pizza!) and a great variety of hand crafted cocktails along with a tasty wine menu. I love this place!!
Good food but needed fresh ground pepper not the packaged kind. Limited menu due to Covid. Wish for more seafood!
PK just reopened and they nailed sanitary precautions - with a smile (behind their masks)!
We miss you!
Can you let me know when you will be reopening?
The cost of a glass of wine over $20 was a bit steep.
Also, the caprese salad was not good at all. The tomato was so hard and so thick that you could barely cut into it.
We took our nieces for a birthday dinner. Due to COVID-19, there were very few people compared with how busy it usually is on a Friday night. The food was very good with large portions and a wide variety of choices, which was great since our nieces are currently on a "clean eating" diet. They both had salad and enjoyed them very much. I had delicious osso bucco and my husband had fork tender savory short ribs. The two items that prevent me from giving all 5's are: (1) the service was quite slow for there being so few diners, and (2) my husband asked for roasted garlic broccoli as a substitute for broccolini...at first the server said he couldn't make a substitute, then he checked with the kitchen and said he could. But the funniest part was that I asked for a side of broccoli and they brought me broccolini that wasn't even a sides option. I sent it back to get the broccoli I asked for. We felt like we were part of a comedy routine and wondered if they were trying to get rid of their broccolini.
As always, the food at Portola Kitchen was excellent. Great service, low noise level. Great evening.
Service and food at Portola Kitchen are always great.
Always good food. Kind of noises, but I put up with it because the food is always so good.
We recently returned to Portola Kitchen after not visiting it for several years. We live up the Peninsula from this restaurant so it is a bit of a drive to eat there.
But since returning to Portola Kitchen last year it is now become one of our favorites for a weekend brunch or lunch. The staff is sure attentive and friendly and Rose the hostess could not be more accommodating. The menu is extensive and the food is excellent.
We’ve been going to Portola Kitchen for a couple of years, because we can always depend on receiving wonderful service, delicious meals and ever changing inventive specials.
Food is still good - but prices have jumped recently. Good place for a drink and snack but getting expensive for a family to eat there.
Always a lovely dining experience. Rose runs a tight ship and execution is flawless!
I frequent Portola Kitchen often. The food and service is always good.
Great place to meet friends in relaxing casual atmosphere with good food.
Always a pleasure to eat here. Twice at lunchtime and will try the Brunch and a dinner for future visits. Lunch is noisy inside but quieter outside.
we have been going here for years, ever since mike went italian, normally 2 times per week. the food has been great but we have seen him raise the prices so dramatically that i'm not sure we'll go back and we will sure spread the word to our friends. the other night 7 people. two fish dishes, i pizza, one beef dish, 3 pastas. three mixed green salads, no desserts. 3 glasses of wine, one cocktail and 1 beer......with tip...over $500.00. not quite your neighborhood trattoria anymore.
