You can always count on good food and service.
Perfect as always, the food is superb every time me and my wife come. A true favorite for us! On top of the food the staff is also really great!
EVERYTHING WAS OUTSTANDING, WE HAD A BRITHDAY GATHERING, AGAIN EVERYTHING
WAS MOST OUTSTANDING......
We were celebrating my birthday. We had excellent service by Harold.
Nice, vintage restaurant. We were there for a storytelling event that was held upstairs, so we had dinner before the event in the restaurant. Very good value special was running (soup, steak, potatoes, asparagus, dessert) for only $25. Food was great. They let us take our second glass of wine upstairs for the event, which was super cool. Would definitely come back, even if just to eat.
Birthday and food was great
Very limited brunch options. No specialty coffee. Not a great variety for vegetarians/vegans.
Great atmosphere, good food and exceptional service.
The Menu is limited but the food and Service are Always Great! I wish the Brunch was a larger selection.
Birthday dinner, service was great as always and food was delish!! Always a good time here
Great service plus a delicious meal (my husband had the pork, I had the chicken schnitzel) made for a wonderful dining experience.
Went to Public Landing for a holiday dinner. We had a very nice time - great food - wonderful ambiance - enjoyable altogether!
Birthday dinner which was free and they brought a dessert too.
Very nice place for a special occasion. Very nice historical ambiance.
We have been going to Public Landing for years. We always have a good meal, and the setting is lovely inside and out. We also have had a waitress that we particularly like most of the time and that is a nice feeling also.
One if my favorite restaurants in the burbs. You know it's a good restaurant when you see some of the same wait staff there year after year!
We were meeting friends for a night out. We often choose The Public Landing because it is in the middle for all. The women ordered Pot Roast and the generous portion allowed for Doggie Bags. The men had ordered The Sea Bass and a Fillet and both cleaned their plates! Sorry to say that we did not leave room for dessert but their menu was tempting! Our server, Jeff, was patient, pleasant and efficient. He has waited on us in the past so we were pleased to be assigned to his table again. We had a lovely night out catching up with good friends in a very relaxing atmosphere.
This restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Even tho it was extremely busy we were promptly seated after a well crafted cocktail at the bar. Our server was efficient and knowledgeable with a dash of humor. We enjoyed a trio of appetizers ( calamari, crab cakes and smoked salmon flatbread) all 3 were exceptional. My picky wife ordered the spicy Buddha bowl and loved it, she commented wow this is spicy but that’s what she likes. I feasted on a perfectly cooked piece of prime rib, it was amazing. To cap off a wonderful evening we shared a pecan cobbler and paid our bill. What a treat the Public Landing is.
Excellent atmosphere and very good food but nothing special for service. Three of the four meals for our group were brought out and it took another 15 minutes for the last meal to arrive. There was no apology for the delaywith the last meal - not cool.
The atmosphere at Public Landing is relaxing. Our server was awesome and the food was very delicious. We have been dining here for 10 years and love it every time.
Wonderful birthday dinner! Beautiful decorations for the holiday.
great drinks - some things that come out of the kitchen are better than the others
This was our first visit. Been meaning to visit for a long time. The food was good as expected and the space was cool. Really felt like we got value for our money. However from the time we sat down we felt we were a total inconvenience to our server. I don’t know why. I know everyone has bad days. But the constant being treated badly certainly affected our evening. That said I have the service three stars because the support staff was very helpful and polite.
Wonderful food ,server and atmosphere , loved would recommend!
I've eaten at the Landing about a handful of times, none of which were deserving of a below-average review. However, this past Wednesday, we had lunch and I was almost in shock at what I was served. I ordered smoked salmon on Nan with capers, sprouted something or other, and substituted extra red onion instead of the capers. What I was served was one of the most unappetizing meals I can remember. My friend ordered the southwest chicken sandwich, which was much more appealing than my plate and she graciously shared both it and the side of homemade chips, both of which were pretty tasty.
But, back to my plate. The smoked salmon was actually so chopped up and mixed in with the vegetables that it was barely there. And, everything was chopped so incredibly small, it kept falling off of my fork. It would have been impossible to eat on what they called "NAN", anyway, since the "nan" was so hard and dry that I had to cut with a knife. I should have sent it back, but we didn't have that much time and the place started to get busy. I didn't want to wait for another meal. Had I taken a picture, you would definitely wonder how a good chef could think this dish was remotely appetizing.
As for the service, Jeff (if I recall his name correctly) totally dropped the ball on this one. A good server would have wondered why the plate was not even one quarter eaten and was I unhappy with the meal?
I'm not trying warn anyone off from eating here. It's been in business a long time and, I'm sure, for good reason. But, they should take this item off the menu or at least make it a presentable one. We must have been there on the regular chef's day off, I'm thinking, but I doubt I will go back.
There were 6 of us for my moms birthday. The food was amazing, the building is beautiful. Sunday they have their dinner menu all day, so we’re looking forward to going in the summer with our dogs and sit on the patio to try their lunch menu.
It was a beautiful setting and the service was wonderful. Unfortunately, the food was just OK versus the price. I will not be visiting this restaurant again.
Loved everything about our dinner out at the Public Landing food was very good the waitress was awesome and of course you could always wish for lower prices but I guess you
get what you pay for and it was well worth it
We really liked this place, parking is a challenge, but it’s worth searching for. The historic building and warm atmosphere was just the beginning. We sat at the bar, greeted by veteran master of the bar Mary Jo. Expertly made cocktails, attentive service and the food was great definitely heading back soon!
A beautiful building made better because of excellent Christmas decorations. A wonderful setting! Service was spot-on as usual- friendly, fun, knowledgeable. Both Jeff and Harold working in our section are great servers. The food was tremendous as usual. I had the duck and my wife had the chefs weekly special airline chicken arribiatta. Both were excellent, the duck crispy on the outside juicy on the inside, the chicken has a sauce of tomatoes and other vegetables over a cheesy polenta that my wife raved about. You can't go wrong no matter what you order.
Had a great time tonight with my family. They sat us in a room adjacent to bar area and it was perfect. We didn’t know it was there before. It was beautifully decorated and quite enough for my family to have conversation. Food was outstanding and our server Diane was exceptional! Great job!
Overall good food. Maybe not quite worth the price, but it is a nice place with good service.
We had dinner at Public Landing with friends and were a little disappointed in the food. We ordered calamari and it was "fishy" tasting. I order the whitefish with crab and the whitefish was dry and a bit "fishy", and the rice was a bit tasteless. The gentlemen had the salmon and perch and loved their entrees.
I guess I just made a bad choice.
Nice building. Average nicer restaurant. Tried to adjust our order to accommodate a diet preference, and they couldn't. Hadn't been here for years. Probably going to be the same for next time.
Great food and service!!
Delicious food and excellent service. This was our first visit and we will def be going back!
First time and will definitely go again. Loved the atmosphere & service from Debbie was fantastic
As always food was delicious and bar tender was friendly and helpful. Truly enjoy visiting Public Landing , ambience is great. If you haven't gone , you need to.
Ladies night out for dinner and a comedy show! Service was great. We thought we may be tight on time but we were fine and didn’t feel rushed either.
