We have dined here several times over the past few years but this time our food was not of the quality in the past. Two of our friends ordered fish and chips and the fish was so tough it had to be cut with a knife. Another’s lake perch was over fried and curled up. Overall we were disappointed in the food quality.
Our server and assistant were terrific. The food was really good particularly the Reuben. As usual parking is a problem (great problem to have). The restaurant was 75% full for a weekday lunch, but the a/c was too much. I luckily had a jacket. No such luck for my 2 dining partners.
Been wanting to try Public Landing and finally did. Worth the wait, but should have tried it sooner. It was just marvelous! Staff, service and food were outstanding. In fact, received a delicious mousse from the chef to celebrate our anniversary. Noise level is a little high, plus we had a gentleman next to our table who was exceptionally loud. Would not let that keep us from returning, though.
Without hesitation I would recommend this restaurant for its ambiance in a historic building. As a vegetarian, the menu, food and service are passable.
Really nice atmosphere. Service was very good and waitress gave us plenty of time to catch up with old friends. Restaurant closes a bit early on Saturdays (9:30pm), which we didn't realize, so we were the last ones finishing our dinner but staff was really nice about it while waiting for us to finish. No one tried to rush us out the door. Very good food and dining experience.
Food was good – nice ambience
The only problem we had was parking because they had a wedding there. Otherwise everything was great.
Great food, wonderful service, pretty setting. Couldn’t have been happier! Our waiter was outstanding! We had 7 people and he didn’t miss a beat!
I have a friend who makes better filet minion, but the dinner was better than average. Love the old building, park, and atmosphere
We were dining outside and I had really been looking forward to eating on the patio for my Birthday. Everything was great until the table next to us showed up with an obnoxious little yappy dog in a stroller and they were oblivious as to how annoying it's constant yapping was. You might as well have put 10 crying babies next to us. Is it really necessary to make the patio dog friendly? I know I won't be back there because it ruined the whole outdoor dining experience.
Table cloths, good and affordable wine list, exceptional food that tasted great with fresh ingredients, showed that each dish was “made” when served. Would definitely go back and highly recommend.
The food and service were excellent!
I recommend that you make a reservation if you plan to dine inside or on the patio.
We travel an hour each way to dine with them. That is how special a place it is. Both at lunch, dinner, and holidays we have never been disappointed and any friends and family we bring say the same.
Excellent food, wonderful service, but extremely too loud in there!!! Also, how do I add my receipt to my account to accumulate points.
Everything was very good to excellent! The only thing is, we wished there was a wider selection on the menu...we had a party of 10, and there were. O real complaints, it was all of our 1st experience dining there! We’ll be back!
Service was great. There were only 4-5 other patrons there. So not busy.
Parking was full so we had to find public parking. Negative.
Food was good. I had the salmon cake on arugula bed and husband had a burger.
Drinks, appetizers and meal were all delicious. Noise level was very high but then again it was a Friday night so I really can't complain. Will definitely be back.
Their summer menu has so many fantastic choices. My wife loved her fish and chips and I thoroughly enjoyed my filet medallions. Your menu has something for all to enjoy. We sat on your patio and it is definitely the most scenic patio in the burbs. We are glad we called ahead for patio reservations because it was completely full during our visit. Thank You for a wonderful meal. See you soon.
We had a lovely time at Public Landings for lunch. Chicken salad on croissant - amazing - with a blue cheese salad. Looking forward to having our bridal shower there in less than a year.
Improvement menu wise over the last 5 -7 years has been astonishing. Service is unmatched in the area.
This historic spot was really a treat to the eye as well as a feast for the stomach. We left with our souls refreshed. Will go there again.
Food was very good. Would probably return.
Service was great. Clean and good lighting (not too bright not too dark. Food was good and they were great about substituting my vegetable.
Love the atmosphere and the upscale feel of the dining room and bar.
The ambience at Public Landing is very good because of the age of the building and the use of the space, but the food is only adequate. It favors quantity over quality and would benefit from some better recipes with more delicate flavors and more artful presentations. It's a nice place with decent service but the food doesn't rise to the same level as the rest of the experience.
Overall great dinner at Public Landing. My husband had duck and really liked it. I had pork with mashed cauliflower. Really liked the cauliflower! The calamari we had to start was very greasy. Great ambiance!
Our dinner was amazing!! We ordered the pork special and it was cooked to perfection!! Loved it!! Can’t wait to come back here!!
A birthday celebration and the waiter brought out a dessert!
Good food, a good value from the wine list and excellent service.
It’s all good! Nothing like being outside on a beautiful evening!!
The ambience is great but the menu sucks. It’s Lockport, not the city! Let’s get a decent menu with quality food!
Our server Pam was perfect. We let the manager know how pleased we were with the service she gave us. Attentive and friendly, knowledgeable about the menu. Great evening. Always love the ambiance.
Great food and unique atmosphere. An enjoyable dining experience and highly recommend it
Public Landing is a hometown gem! We typically visit once or twice a month -- and we never tire of the atmosphere, the excellent service, and the beautifully prepared and presented food. The staff is very friendly and welcoming -- we have always experienced wonderful table service. Pam and Diane, the two servers whom we regularly request, are both delightful.
Great food and service!!
Excellent food and place to dine you won’t be disappointed!
As always, a very pleasurable dining experience. Great food, service, and ambience. Thankful that there is such a quality establishment nearby.
A very enjoyable lunch, with outstanding service by Debbie. It was difficult getting to the restaurant on the day we were there due to work being done on the railroad tracks, but free drinks from the restaurant made up for the inconvenience.
Always great service and food.
Always welcomed here and the Food is very good!!!!!!!!!
As are the servers.............
