We had a beautiful dinner for 6 on New Years Eve. It was a set tasting menu, but everything was delicious. We all loved it and look forward to returning.
Great food and service. My rib roast was served with gongorzola, very different and tasty. It was noisy because of Christmas dinners with large groups, but not the fault of the restaurant....nothing they could do about it.
We had never been there before and we took our friends from LA with us for dinner. The food, service and ambiance was amazing! We will definitely be going back, as well as recommending this restaurant.
Lyle and Karen are awesome hosts and run a great restaurant. The food is always amazing, the prices reasonable and the atmosphere perfect for a dinner date or with friends.
Excellent food. Great ambience
Stopped in on our way to Stratford. Elegant setting but somehow casual with very good food. Only complaint was food came out too fast between courses. Need to allow a bit of time to have conversation and eat. Great place!
The food, dining room and service were all terrific. We look forward to visiting again soon.
Good service and good food. An excellent place to stop on the way to or from the Stratford Festival.
My guest and I were very pleased to see an updated menu. Food was very good - we both enjoyed our meal; starter salad was a little small and I prefer a "traditional Romaine Caesar" but lovely dressing. All in all, the best meal I've had at Puddicombe!
This was an unexpectedly excellent meal. Beautifully presented. (Mains were steak and trout.) Recommended for an early dinner at 5 or 5:30, to get to Stratford for 8pm play.
We were quite disappointed. Warm plates would have been good. Asparagus was “stringy”. Dessert was lovely. Overall we found it a bit over priced. Our server was lovely. There was noise from workmen at front. Maybe we picked a bad day
Excellent eating experience in a historic ambiance. Great place to relax and meet with your family/friends. Very attentive and friendly staff. We'll be back!
The food quality and food temperature as well as its presentation were excellent. I enjoyed the scallop appetizer but found the portion size small relative to the price.
The server was friendly, helpful and attentive.
It was an excellent evening; food, servers, and ambiance were excellent.
Great burger and excellent blonde beer brewed in house
Ambiance was very delightful . We enjoyed our lunch. I had the soup, delicious. Serving was a little on the small side considering it was my main dish. It was perfect size for an appetizer. Would have been ok with paying a little more for a larger serving.
My husband and I have dinned at Puddicombe House dozens of times, and have always had a great experience - ambience, meal, and service. The menu is seasonal so it does rotate. I highly recommend the burger, or any pasta feature they have on the menu! Always delicious. It's a beautiful relaxing restaurant in a fantastic historic building that is full of charm. If you are stopping in for dinner, or simply for a cocktail on their great patio, you'll be sure to have a wonderful time. Be sure to check it out!
Other than our service being a little slow....(coffee was finished when we got our desserts) everything was fine!
Fabulous meal, great atmosphere, thank you Puddicombe !!
We had a very enjoyable meal with family on the patio. Great atmosphere, great food and great service!
Food and service were excellent. Because of the fact that the restaurant is broken up into smaller rooms due to the fact that it was once a private home the noise level is very low and the ambiance terrific. We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant.
The service was very friendly and excellent. We chatted with our server and she helped make our experience there exceptional. Our food was so very good. The chicken and peach dish is something I have never tried before but would definitely order again.
Our table was in the bar area with another large group; the noise level in other areas of the restaurant would probably be lower. The food was well prepared with some interesting specials and the service was attentive. This was our second experience dining here; we'll be back.
This is a small restaurant in a historic house in a quaint mid-Ontario village. Would be a good experience for someone looking to celebrate a special occasion or immerse in history.
Yet another wonderful meal! We went to Puddicombe House for dinner Saturday night, party of 4. We sat on the porch as it was a nice evening and they provided warm blankets for us if we got cold, so thoughtful. We ordered scallops and the bruschetta, both were amazing, 3 of us had the short rib, meat was so tender it was falling apart and so tasty. The other person had the special which was the salmon which he said was excellent. Desserts were all good and the owner Nick always finds time to come over and chat. It’s a charming place, food is always amazing, well priced, friendly attentive service and a Victorian era house beautifully decorated. We’ve been here so many times and enjoyed every meal. Always a pleasure to dine at Puddicombe House and well worth the drive to New Hamburg.
I was there with my girlfriend and everything was awesome. The vegan food and fish both were delicious and we liked them. Also all the staff were so welcoming and kind. The patio on that great weather was just like heaven! Thanks Puddicombe.
The food was different than that available in most restaurants. The waitress was attentive. We were pleased with the cost of the meals.
Amazing dinning experience and ambiance! Great date night!
We have been staying here for years. Part of the reason is the food is fantastic. We were there on Wednesday for Date Night and had the steak and wine special for $60.00. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the accompanying vegetable medley a warm welcome from the usual most places serve.
I would highly recommend Puddicmbe House for a unique dining experience in a small town country setting! The cuisine was VERY GOOD as was the service. An evening that will be remembered as a truly outstanding country inn with superb SHORT RIBS!
Absolutely delicious. Our second time here and no doubt we'll be back again. Thanks so much!
Excellent food, lovely, restful background music at a pleasant level. Service was adequate, but staff seemed very busy.
We went to the Puddicomb House to celebrate a birthday with friends. Our main course and dessert was delicious. The only disappointment was the selection of beer on draught. No wheat beer available and the fact that they were out of all premium liquors.
One of the best restaurant meals I have ever had. The short ribs were fantastic as well as our server Emma
Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Our server was very personable and efficient. The food was very flavorful with unique ingredients. The presentation was beautiful. Everything was delicious. I would certainly go back again.
Once again, the food was excellent, the service amazing and the ambiance wonderful! There were 8 in our party and we sat on the veranda. It was relaxing and we all enjoyed ourselves so much we are sure to return again and again!
Love the ambience and history. The food was excellent and service was efficient and friendly.
Food and service were excellent. We love the ambiance of the restaurant and the fact that there are several, small rooms which helps to reduce the noise level. Also they do not have any background music which can be annoying. Overall an excellent experience at a reasonable price.
Olivia our server was excellent. Knowledgeable with a good sense of humour
I really enjoyed my visit to Puddicombe the food and service were excellent
