1913 Restaurant & Wine Bar
We are regulars go all the time. Enjoy the specials. However there’s a smell in the middle of the dining room. Don’t know what it is or origin but it is offputting.
Love this restaurant, my favorite in the area. Good and service are always exceptional.
The food was excellent. I had the duck and my wife had the rib eye. The sides were great. The service and atmosphere were great.
Great food and great service. And, plenty of free parking.
1913 never disappoints. Between the regular menu items that we love, to the specials that are never the same but always awesome. Service is always friendly and informative if you need it. They always make us feel at home. I like to think of this as “our”place. This local neighborhood restaurant is a 5 star gem.
Very good app, worth returning for.
1913 NEVER disappoints! We enjoyed a romantic NY Eve dinner and as usual the food and service were outstanding. This is our favorite local restaurant and I would recommend 1913 to anyone looking for a special place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary etc. Also, a great first date spot! Ask to be seated with Eunice.....you'll be happy you did!
Always good food and friendly staff.
We had dinner at 1913 to celebrate New Year’s Eve. We had a very nice evening.
Excellent choices of beer and wine and the food was outstanding...thank you!
Cute place with exposed brick and original wood flooring. the lemon ricotta appetizer was delicious. Nice cocktails and wines.
Excellent food and service. The drinks are a bit pricey. But, the 1913 restaurant is a great place for a great night out.
Varied menu items. A little pricey. Good service, above average food.
Charming staff and impeccable cuisine! The decor and feel were conducive to a relaxed and meaningful meal while visiting with friends and even our server Eunice (I believe was her name). Shrimp pizzette, Shells n shells, baked oysters, and Lynfred wine! So yummy
Split the hangar steak and it was delicious, mussels and pasta special were great too!
Third time we’ve been here and they consistently deliver . Love the little powder sugar donuts for dessert!
I would recommend 1913 to a friend but I would caution that friend. We will try the restaurant again sometime but I found the level of salt in almost every dish I ordered to be way too high. I get that seasoned foods are far more delicious than under seasoned ones but my steak, my soup, my brussel sprouts, and (albeit to a lesser extent) my cauliflower gratin were almost too salty to eat. The service was outstanding and the drinks were spot on. The value is OK but prices are not all that low. As I say, we will try again, but if the salt isn't dialed back, then our next visit will be our last.
The menu had variety and special creations that you don’t come across everyday. Service was attentive and not intrusive. Good wine selection !
Our 2nd visit, it was just as good as the first time.
Always great service. Tyler explained the menu perfectly and was very helpful in helping us choose. Delicious foot. You are my go to restaurant.
Always a great time with amazing dishes.
This is the best restaurant in the burbs.
Lobster Mac and cheese was fantastic as a starter, did the fillet medallions with double spinach(instead of cauliflower) no problem with that request and the medallions were perfectly cooked and salted. I’ve done the zeppoli’s here as well and they are always a treat. Prices are not cheap but are reasonable. My old fashioned was perfect and the wine selection is different and always very good. The ambiance is spot on chic without the glitz of gold or glitter or huge chandeliers, lighting is perfect. The crowd was large but the room is never too loud, even full. If you haven’t been before, you’ve been missing a gem.
Very good food and service.
Great food, outstanding sharables to start. The entrees were very good and the wine selections and pairings rounded out the meal. Desserts were home made, the pecan pie was incredible. The only issue was timing. We specifically noted we wanted proper spacing between the sharables and the entrees but ended up with the entrees brought out while we were still enjoying the sharables.
4 stars for ambiance due to a cooler room. Service and food were amazing.
Great restaurant. Highly recommended. Food, wine and service were all amazing.
I ordered the line caught black cod. It was superb! The fish was served on a bed of perfectly seasoned fresh vegetables. Everything at our table was wonderful. Filets and short ribs were the other dishes. Delicious food.
All I can say is incredible...from the food to the service to the prices. Our waitress (Kim) was outstanding and spot on with her recommendations. Our bartender (Pete) makes an incredible Old Fashioned and the owner (Paul) made us feel at home. We will definitely be back.
I found the food to be very lacklustre and not justified by the high cost. Very bland and poorly executed.
Waiter was not attentive. The food was ok. I ordered the shells on shells. The seafood was all shell fish which was horrible. 2 shrimp, mussels which were smaller than the size of a pea and clams as well. For the price of the dish, they should of had the decency to add in good sized shell fish. Huge disappointment.
Good food and great service once we got served. The Horseradish pork chop was worth coming back for. Alas they no longer make the port wine cherry chocolate bread pudding that would have us coming back frequently.
Great food, great wine! Love this place.
Great place for any occasion I have been there many times and definitely recommend to friends
Went for birthday dinner with family. When I made reservation on Open Table I noted that it was a birthday dinner. No acknowledgement. Food was delicious. Waitress was pretty good. She seemed busy so there was longer wait between appetizers and dinner. Would recommend.
I am allergic to all seafood and it was enjoyable to know there wasn’t any cross contamination. The waiter was very good as well.
Had terrific service and avery good meal . Terrific whiskey! Fries olives were outstanding!! Butternut squash ravioli with sage butter were good but a little bland. My husband’s french onion soup was terrific! The combination of service, drinks and food yield a highly recommended rating!
Great food and great wine list
For your money ......................................th
Always delicious food, no matter what we’ve ordered. Excellent service.
Great food (creative options) and atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Outstanding as always. Best restaurant in the western suburbs. The owner,Ron, is always engaging and making certain that the food and service is top notch. The servers, especially Tyler, are what one would expect from a great restaurant. If 1913 were in Lincoln Park or the west loop, the critics would give it rave reviews.
Favorite place, great everything!!
