60 State Park at Inn at Morro Bay
This place is awesome! The scallops are to die for! Exactly what we wanted and the staff is so nice! Our curly haired busser was so cute and sweet and very authentic and accommodating. We will definitely be back when we’re in town.
We live near this restaurant and frequent the happy hour, as well as having dinner there occasionally - 60 Park State NEVER disappoints in any way!
The view of the bay is what gives this restaurant a value added.
Unfortunately, it is winter and at dinner, it is now dark
So the focus becomes the food and service.
The food is average, no spark here. The service was a little above
It was a slow evening and there were only two couples left for dinner. The staff were closing down for the night and so we felt like we should leave, but our guest wanted dessert and coffee.
I felt like an unwanted guest with people pushing me out the door.
The view and the ambiance of the Inn is special. My recommendation to guests is go here for breakfast and Happy Hour. it is unfortunate that the Inn does not serve lunch.
If I was the owner, I would emphasize the location and get a good breakfast/ lunch chef. Take a break and then deliver excellent pub grub for Happy Hour and call it a night at around 7-7:30.
There are too many excellent foodie places on the coast for this restaurant’s dinner to compete.
Use the view, to keep people coming. Focus on breakfast, lunch and Happy Hour.
If you want something for late night, keep the bar open and serve
Charcuterie and bruschetta/ flatbreads.
this Inn is a jewel in the rough.
Lots of waiting and then everything arrived at once. Then was lukewarm. No salmon and the substitute prawns were terrible. Seasonal veg was not seasonal!
The food was just average, which is too bad because there is a lovely view. However, it was so noisy that I won't consider going back. Maybe they should think about separating the bar from the dining area.
My husband and I wanted to try their restaurant month prix fixe menu. We made a reservation. When we arrived we were sat in the bar area and given bar menus. We sat there for quite a long time watching the two servers very busy with customers. No one came over to us to give us water or tell us that they would be with us shortly. We noticed that there was only one table filled in their dining room and it was lit up like a cafeteria. Not very appealing. We ending up walking out and not eating there. Will not go back.
Wife and I were there to celebrate our 45 anniversary, when we arrived we were seated right away and noticed there was only one other couple in the entire restaurant. We soon discovered why, The waitress, took our drink order right away, but it took a long time for them to arrive at our table. After ordering from the limited menu, we did not see our waitress until she was serving our meals. when the meals arrived I was amazed at the portioning on the plate, I had ordered hanger steak with Parmesan potatoes, the meat was approx. six ounces cut into two pieces and charred on the outside beyond recognition, the potatoes were just a large pile of french fries with no Parmesan cheese in sight. The wife had herbed chicken w/scalloped potatoes and grilled vegetables. Same problem a small serving of chicken with the rest of the plate filled with grilled vegetables. Each of our meals cast thirty dollars. Well needless to say we were very disappointed. The only positive was the fantastic ocean view from the restaurant. I do not recommend this restaurant.
We arrived for our 8.30 pm New Year's Eve reservation and it was a long line of people waiting. We finally were seated 45 minutes later. Some people complained that there were waiting over an hour.
Their advertised Prime Rib dinner was sold out. The place had no festive decoration and the food was totally overcooked. We have been coming here over the years for NY Eve but this will be our last.
We had a reservation but the Host treated us as if we didn’t. He asked if we would be good with sitting in the lounge or we would wait another 15 minutes. It was New Year’s eve and the restaurant didn’t seem to be ready for it. They were running out of food at 6:30. Our server tried hard but was running hard. The scallops we ordered were overdone. The live music was very good. Overall, I would say it was an average experience.
Waitress was nice, but extremely slow on everything. She stopped by once after meal was served, no water refills, no desert offers. It seemed like She would purposely walk the other route to avoid her tables in our section, I would see her turn and choose the other route.
Had to ask another waiter and bus boy to get our check. We weren’t only ones in our section waiting, just we waited the longest.
Extremely slow service. Meal ordered was not prepared with all ingredients noted on menu and flatbread was hard and tough. Waitresses were kind and courteous and did not charge for the meal I ate. However it appears there was a lack of sufficient staff to handle the number of customers they have to contend with during holidays. I've eaten there before and found that same item scruptous, prepared with excellence. That is why I stated I still would send people there and will go there again.
Very small portions!! Especially when a 20% gratuity was charged “automatically” due to it being a special occasion.
Excellent customer service, however.
Great breakfast in a great setting overlooking the bay. Will definitely return.
A little noisy due to sound bouncing around the room. Difficult to carry on a conversation. Great Happy Hour, awesome drinks, and VERY GOOD service.
The view is great. The food was just ok for Thanksgiving dinner.
Was very impressed with the themed menu. The descriptions hooked me in. 3 small bite appetizers were fun & tasty. Butternut Squash soup & Apple wedge salad were very fresh and tasty. Only 2 entree choices, ham or Turkey & we had turkey. Nice mix of dark (our preference) & white-w/white very moist & flavorful. All side’s good. We were comfortably full so Took apple dessert to go and added vanilla ice cream at home. Was really good too. Would definitely come back.
My daughter and I had dinner Thanksgiving Day. The ambience and dining room quite impressive. View spectacular, but service
needs a little polishing. We were a party of two and had reservations for 1:15pm. Only a couple of tables occupied and a few at the bar. We ordered our entrees and I ordered Turkey Entree and my daughter ordered Ham. Our waitress was accommodating and friendly but we both were served Turkey. It began to get a little busier and once our waitress returned to discuss the entree discrepancy my daughter chose to eat the Turkey but asked if she could get just a piece of ham, no sides, no worries! She said ok and returned twice saying I’m working on it, and took a order for more drinks and incidentals. When she returned she was in a hurry and we were in conversation so it was overlooked again. The third time I confronted the waitress and she then said, Oh, well the chef stated he/she can’t do that. M Miya daughter reiterated that she had only asked for the ham no sides. Our waitress returned with a piece of thin breakfast ham cut in half. We let it go being Thanksgiving, but the disservice is getting breakfast ham & not the Apple Glazed Spiril Ham presented on the menu. We both gave the waitress a 20% gratuity. Our bill was $202.01 I was appalled that this occurred. The waitress wrote it down correctly but my daughter had to eat Turkey. Who wants breakfast ham with the lining still attached? Very disappointed, although I’m sure the waitress was new and not assertive enough to please a Holiday customer. A restaurant that isn’t consistent will fail. I would hate to see this, as I live in Cayucos and I know good food and good service. Also, the Apple Cobbler was delicious but not in proportion to my large piece of pumpkin pie with relatively no flavor. As I already mentioned, it’s imperative that the Ambience compliment the menu and vice versa! Thank You! Robin Riordon
Thanksgiving dinner was excellent. View of the Morro Bay estuary. Server took care to explain and recommend options. The host, alas, seemed overwhelmed.
Loved our Thanksgiving meal by the Bay- tranquility for all!
The noise level was very high and unpleasant. They don't seem to have enough servers and/or cooks as the meal took a long time to come out. The servers were friendly but overwhelmed. We made this reservation because we were attending a concert on property, and it seemed it would be convenient. But we will not be returning.
Singer was much to loud for us to hold a conversation at our table. We were told she would end at 7:00 and at 7:15 she finally ended, 30 min into our meal. I am a non-fish eater so very limited choices. Much better deals elsewhere in Morro Bay.
The crab hash was not hash for sure. Huge chunks of potatoes, onions, and peppers were raw, barely cooked so it was chunky and plain. The crab was sparse and plain. One of the worst meals I ever had. The server was professional and accurate though.
Food was delicious. But teenagers and younger we're allowed to run wild through the restaurant.
The room was very loud and service was slow.
We were seated in the lounge even though there was no one in the main restaurant. Very disappointing as we used to enjoy this place.
Yes for the view, but the food was just ok and the service was forgetful, but friendly. Very inexpensive for the experience - but the kitchen needs some help.
The food was delicious and very fresh. Tthe view overlooking Morro Bay was beautiful. We will definitely go back.
What an amazing view! Great food, great value, great service. What a hidden gem with a breathtaking sunset!
The food was great and the staff was personable, but we did have some problems. We made a same-day OpenTable reservation, but they didn’t have it. Staff communication was a bit off that night. Once we were seated it was a good 20 minutes before a server addressed us, despite it seeming pretty slow. I’m not sure of the restaurant capacity, but I would say there were no more than 20 diners at any given point after our arrival with availability for at least double that. Once we ordered, we received our salad in a timely fashion, but it was about 40 minutes before our entrees arrived. My steak was cooked wrong and had to be sent back. It returned no sooner than 20 minutes later. Our server was delightful and kept saying they were so busy...but that’s not a great excuse in a half full restaurant. I was a server for a long time. When you have guests who are cool with your kitchen being slow, it’s nice to offer them a perk like a free dessert. We ended up asking for a check before a dessert me u was ever offered because sighings of our server were so few and far between. It could have been a magical evening, but it was only sorta “meh.”
Worst service I’ve ever had. Food was mediocre and cold. Bar atmosphere was ok and appetizers were ok but dining room unsatisfactory.
Ate in the bar. The music was great but the noise level was impossible. We couldn’t hear each other talk and the waitress had to literally scream to be heard.
Great view, perfect for sunset.
Food was okay, but choices in Morro Bay are limited
Loved the service, and the portions were plentiful and the food very good. I recommend the restaurant! (Just stay somewhere else - the Inn is very "tired," at best.)
Service was fantastic and great view. However, $30 steak entree should come with more than two small slices of meat and french fries.
Tracey our bartender and server was terrific! The scallops were awesome!
Super nice staff... a little unorganized, wasn’t waited in immediately, but compensated our bill.
Great food, beautiful view, attentive service. Would go back again
The restaurant was not staffed efficiently. There were gaps in the service. The waitress brought us a bread basket but no plates so we could serve ourselves. We waited and waited and then finally one of us got up and asked for them. There was long gaps again after receiving our food and then the waitress realized she had never brought us our check. She was either overwhelmed or under trained.
The noise level was high for dining and the guitar and bongo music was too loud for easy listening. I had brought out of town relatives there for dinner. Was disappointed...has management changed? The food quality was good.
On a Tuesday evening, not crowded; wonderful view of the water and the birds. Food was tasty and quickly delivered. Service was lively. AND they do have binoculars to look for a otter or bird nest.
Slow on getting service. Food was okay. My chilaqules were terrible. The only thing that was good were my daughters pancakes.
Great location - beautiful view of Morro Rock and Estero Bay. Breakfast Food is ok and service is slightly above average.
