I think this is a great restaurant. Usually go for business lunches and I just wish they had more customers because the food is excellent. Hummus is delicious, pita warm and soft. Love the octopus salad, chicken kabobs and Greek salads. All really tasty.
A menu filled with extraordinary flair!! Where else can a diner find grilled sardines so tasteful or a watermelon salad only a desirous pallet could be fulfilled. But don't stop there as the Grilled Branzino might be the best dish tried though one might go for the Spanakoptia and end up in heaven..I know the delights are plentiful but bring your's and you will find yourself wanting to be back again as do I.
This restaurant is always great. Wonderful food, nice staff!
Enjoyed another delicious meal at Agora. Great food and good service. Especially enjoyed the watermelon salad.
Great place to eat a meal where you can hear your friends talk!
food was not good. too expensive for amount and gyros were bad.
This has become my family’s go to place in San Carlos. Food is always amazing, and it is warm and welcoming for groups large and small. Comfortable and relatively quiet which is great for the older members of the family.
Great restaurant! We love the friendly service, great food, and amazing warm atmosphere
We had a lovely dinner and would come back again. This was our second time coming.
We very much enjoyed our dining experience at Agora. Wonderful service, good food and kid friendly! Will go back again!
We wanted to check out Agora because of some good reviews and Greek food can be quite tasty. This was a dismal experience on a recent Saturday night. One person seating people and taking orders and bringing out food. We were basically ignored for the first thirty minutes after we sat down. When the person taking your order asks you if you are in a hurry and you look around at other tables and see that no one has any food, it's probably best to get up and leave. We didn't. The food eventually came and it was also disappointing. I had a greek salad and my date had falafel. Wilted lettuce leaves (and small portion) and overly cooked falafel with a little bowl of grainy tahini. We had to ask for some pita bread and a one pita cut into four triangles was brought out. And it was expensive! We would never go back. San Carlos certainly has better options. Can't imagine this place will be in business a year from now.
The food was good, but the restaurant was almost completely empty for 7:30pm on a Saturday, which was slightly off putting.
I have been to this restaurant before but if this were my first time I would not return. The long wait was inexcusable since the place was practically empty. We were told that my original order would take 40 minutes so I had to order something else. We had to pay more for some extra pita bread. The food wat not that great. We will not be back.
I will recommend it based on the food. It is really GOOD, but the service could improve. They were not that busy, on a Friday night, and yet we have to wait long for our requests, like spoons for the soup; or more peta bread. They served the soup without spoons...uh? Needs a little more finesse and attention to details. Too bad, because the food is DELICIOUS!
The place was almost empty, still we got a table at the door, alone, pretty isolated from the other guests. It was very cold.
We asked for a cup with hot water to warm up some baby food. We had to wait very long and got it just after we asked several times.
The food was delicious but we were not able to enjoy, as it was so cold at that table next to the door and the baby was cold too.
We didn’t feel welcome with the baby, and where the baby is not welcome, we are not welcome.
We‘ve been there before, without the baby and that was a great experience.
Good food good service
40 miles is too far to venture just for dinner, but we had an event to attend on the Peninsula, and I searched Open Table to find a restaurant that had an appealing menu for all in my party. Agora fit the bill. What I was not prepared for was how special this dinner was. I prepare Branzoni at home occasionally, but I have never had a more perfectly prepared and absolutely wonderful whole fish as this one was. Even though it was Saturday night, there wasn't a lot of traffic, so the quietness also was appealing. Other menu items were also topnotch.
As to whether or not we would return, despite the distance, we have a Greek couple with whom we socialize, and we have already made plans to return in the near future.
Agora is a restaurant gem in San Carlos and was a great place for a get-together with friends. Our party of four ordered and shared four entrees and loved all the dishes. Service and ambiance were great. I can't wait to go back.
Nice dinner. Wasn't aware of the prix fixe for valentines day, but $50 was fair and included a bottle of wine. My wife is vegetarian and it's nice to have a high end mediterranean restaurant in San Carlos.
The food was awesome, our host was great and we'll be back
Very good quality Greek / middle eastern food. More of a dinner location than the lunch/delis you may be used to, so more quality, less quantity, and a bit more price. Definitely going on our places to go more regularly.
Excellent meal. Super tasty and great service.
The outstanding pomegranate kabob was our group's favorite. The lamb kabob was also very good. The fried cheese saganaki was only fair, otherwise I would give Agora five stars, and I would like to try other dishes on the the restaurant's large menu. The service is efficient and friendly, and the quiet ambiance conducive to conversation.
Our meal was delicious. Our host was very nice. We had a great evening and definitely will be returning.
