Great food! Great service! Inside, the ambience is suitable for a dinner with discussion. Outside, dining is festive with white lights and music.
Food was outstanding and wait servers were knowledgeable, efficient and friendly!!
Love the food. Service was a little slow but that is to be expected now.
I’m giving them a 3 but last night was more like a 2, maybe a 1. Hostess was nice.
The seating situation was bad from the jump, sitting walk-ins before reservations, but that was what it was. That was followed up by having a number of tables on the sidewalk and half the heaters didn’t work so it was very cold.
When we finally were seated we ordered all of our dishes at once out of fear they were too crowded and we’d never get our food, and the server was pressing us for our whole order. We were then brought our appetizer and soup at same time, so we had to decide what to eat first as the sitting item would surely get cold (everything did). So we were racing. Before we were done eating soup they brought the mains, and tried to take our unfinished soup because there wasn't room on the small table. We crammed everything onto the small table, and now the mains were becoming colder by the second because of the weather.
I decided to get The ‘famous Ragu’ and it doesn’t do well cold as all the noodles bind together. Plus you can’t really see the bones if eating outside because the lighting was bad. The dish was underwhelming warm or cold, but it was cold, so who knows.
Server then offered us ‘a wonderful glass of Sangiovese on the house’ because he at least recognized this. And even though we didn't want more to drink and were nearly done with our meals, we accepted. By the time the Sangiovese arrived we were done, except it wasn't that... it was house Cabernet, which we both found to be borderline un-drinkable swill-level wine; not Sangiovese which we love.
They don’t have the kitchen capacity to double their dining room which is what they’re trying to do with the outside area, and we suffered because of it. I don’t doubt you can have a great meal there on a different night. But for the wife and I, our first night out together in almost two years, it was a bad experience all around. Don’t go on a weekend is my advice and order the food as it comes, not at once.
Great food which is always consistent. Great, friendly staff and service.
Authentic Southern Italian.
Lovely restaurant. Goo outdoor seating with heat lamps. Yummy food (i got the salmon and great fries. Would definitely recommend. I have already.
The entire experience was ok. Walked by the restaurant a few times. It was always packed. I must be missing something.
The experience was very good. Excellent food, good service. Noise level a little higher than I like. All in all, a most enjoyable experience.
Friendly staff and yummy food. Great place to celebrate with friends & family or a quiet dinner for two.
Food was ok - as expected for home style Italian. Wait staff was under trained, not professional, and not attentive or responsive.
Love this restaurant. My husband and I come frequently (before pandemic and when restaurants reopened). This time I brought my friends visiting from Latin America. Food is delicious. It's pricey so service should be better, but owner Angelo is graciously on top fixing any mistake. I always have a great experience.
Food was average, service very slow.
worth waiting for- so much appreciated and so much fun.
We are outside at in what was parking. So, noise was moderate and ambiance more of the street scene vibe.
Service was fair all around. Young waiters (it is a pandemic) and lots of enthusiasm but we were left on a bit of an island outside.
Third visit to Agrodolce and it gets better each time. Last visit we took two other couples with us and everyone had a great time and enjoyed the drinks and food.
Two in our party ordered the sea bass and we all were completely shocked went the platters yes platters not plates arrived at our table. Each had a whole sea bass which was deboned expertly table side and was cooked to perfection. All the other dishes were very generous and tasted great.
Planning at birthday party this month for eight and can't wait to get there again.
The food was a total disappointment…we arrived at 5, so it wasn’t hardly busy, but our server was inattentive. We won’t go back. Too bad, we’d been once before w some friends and although the food wasn’t fabulous, it was an enjoyable experience. This time, pushed us toward the “not our place” rating.
We were there for my husbands birthday. At first it seemed like the waiters were going to be attentive enough however after awhile not so much. Barely saw them except for walking around to the patrons outside
Long waits for food. I will not be back
Didn’t like the tip that was automatically added on to the bill they did not deserve it. I love to tip big. however in this case it was not warranted .
We arrived on time for our reservation. The "Maitre 'D" in a flannel shirt and jeans waved over to three tables and said, take your pick and he walked off. We were given no menus for ten minutes and when we were given menus they were typed white paper, well-handled, spotted and stapled together backwards. It was 18 minutes before the busboy walked over with water and that was our first greeting--no drink order was ever taken. By the time the water showed up, we had called two other restaurants and walked out. The bare tables, rolled silver ware, lack of any service, period, and the prices were completely out of line. We will never try it again.
The outdoor patio was so lovely with all the heaters and rosemary and lights. It was cozy and the food was on point.
good to to back in a warm atmosphere with good food
At AgroDolce, the food is always outstanding, the service is warm and personable, and the entire experience is life-affirming! I can't go there often enough.
Little disappointed. The food was not as special as we expected.
We always went to their other relative's restaurant...Trattoria La Siciliana...but with the shifting of priorities during COVID, the merger of both familes'restaurants at Agrodolce is outstanding. We will always make this a stop when visiting the Bay Area. Very personal and welcoming family and staff at Agrodolce!!
On The night we were there , the service on the part of some of the staff was a bit too casual (some might say inattentive and gruff). We were in the room with the kitchen which was quite noisy.
The food was good but not outstanding as we remembered it to be.
We have eaten there before and had much better service and food.
Disorganized service, mediocre food, high prices, limited Covid protocols.
Always the best food and the best wine! That's why I keep coming back!
nice dinner al fresco. the food was good and the service efficient. Wines are not cheap.
The food and service at Agrodolce is top-drawer. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The availability of outdoor seating is excellent - the only problem is noisy traffic. But we enjoyed it so much that we will be back soon - just maybe sitting a little further from the street!
As soon as walking in we were met with a warm welcome. Seated within a few minutes since we had a reservation. Was even greeted by the owner I assume. Very clean and decorative restaurant giving you major Italian vibes. Lighting was perfect for a date night. As for the food, it was saltier than I liked but the portions were all worth it. The waiters and bartenders were awesome. Definitely will be back.
We waited over 15 min outside the restaurant to be even acknowledged. We even called the phone twice to see if someone would come up from the back and no one did. We just walked to another restaurant instead of waiting any longer.
Delicious authentic Italian food, something a bit different from what you usually see.
Super attentive service. Thé boss watches and checks in on you too.
And to too it off, some very nice live jazz music. We sat outside, it was absolutely lovely.
Chicken was disappointing, it should have come with pasta or potatoes on the side, and the sauce/broth had pieces of chicken bone in it. The clams in the seafood pasta were not fresh and tasted spoiled. Still love this place though. Mushroom ravioli, lamb shank, pork ragu are amazing though.
Our friend treated us to dinner for my husband's birthday. We had an early dinner so few people were inside the restaurant. All three of us had main courses that were good, not great. We split a couple of salads which were even better than the main course. It was decided that the tiramisu was the best part of the meal.. In fact the tiramisu was the best ever.
Never fails to disappoint! Outside seating creates wonderful ambiance and we were lucky enough to be there for the small jazz ensemble that often plays at Agrodolce. Food was fantastic, timed perfectly and service was excellent.
We had the BEST meals. And that means 12 people out of 12 people had amazing meals!!!! What a fantastic restaurant. We will make it a staple. Angelo is such a darling man too!
Sitting outdoors was beautiful in his outdoor seating. I haven't been there in 2 yrs and was so excited to come back. The food is the BEST!!!! Their garlic dip and bread is something I crave the next day haha. We had calamari mista, salmon, ravioli, & puttanesca, and a bottle of sangiovese wine. No one can do puttanesca like this place. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. And Angelo is always entertaining! Great place to share a birthday or anniversary. Memorable food and service.
Very good Sicilian food and excellent service. We used the outdoor facilities and it was very enjoyable. Always dependable for a good meal.
The terrible service overshadowed the good food.
It was almost 30 minutes before a waiter showed up and that was the last time we saw him until he brought the check. The servers were running around in chaos for no reason.
We were really excited to try this restaurant since it was really well reviewed and the food sounded amazing.
Not only it took forever for a waiter to take our order or even bring us water, but the food took a really long time to arrive. Most the dishes were ok, but the salmon “cooked to perfection”, as advertised, was so overcooked and dry (and the potatoes that came with it were absolutely undercooked) that I had to send it back, which I rarely do. The replacement was better cooked but very salty (and the potatoes were bad again), but I ended up eating it anyway since by then my whole family had finished theirs.
Really hope this was just a bad night, but it was just a really disappointing evening.
