Chefs Patrick Pham and Daniel Lee have over 25 years of combined experience in Japanese cuisine and sushi. They established their culinary careers in Houston where they worked together for years before creating their own restaurants.

Pham and Lee teamed up to bring new curated dining concepts to Houston’s food scene and kicked off a series of omakase pop-up dinners called Secret Taste. Pham and Lee then opened Kokoro in the Bravery Chef Hall in Downtown Houston followed by Handies Douzo in the Houston Heights.

Aiko is the newest concept from the team featuring a sushi bar and seated dining.

Unbelievably delicious. Second time eating there and it was awesome. The edamame and peppers are our favorite starters. The fish is so fresh. Love it all.

One of the best sushi experiences in the South. Staff was engaging and friendly. Standout staff members were AK, Jesus, Steven, and Dung. Super knowledgeable about not only their menu items but about sushi in general. Ticket times were quick and every dish I saw go out were consistent. Now on to the food. Definitely coming back because we didn't eat enough this time around. Every bite we had was balanced mand flavorful. No overpowering components in any dish. No dish had underwhelming flavors. We had the mid version omakase, the chirashi bowl, wagyu toast, and some additional nigiri. I can't articulate well enough just how great of an experience our dinner here was.

My boyfriend and I had a great date night here! We’d recommend sitting at the sushi bar and ask to be sat with Jesse! He gave us the best recommendations!!

This place cannot decide what kind of restaurant it wants to be. Tries to imitate some other better know Japanese restaurants but fails miserably. It is also grossly overpriced for what you get.

A wonderful evening with our chef Steven preparing one surprise after another. The quality was exceptional and one of the best custom sushi meals we have had. If you are adventuroius and want to try a more authetic experience this is a great choice.

Aiko is easily one of the best sushi restaurants in Houston, blows most out of the water with the exception of their sister companies Kokoro, Himari, and Handies! All amazing—great staff, fantastic dishes, fun atmosphere! 🤍✨😊

Truly the most exceptional sushi experience we’ve had. It is on par or, dare I say, even better than Uchi in Austin and Dallas. Super fresh and original sashimi and nigiri and seasonal items; King Trumpet Mushrooms and Japanese River Crabs. Amazing!

Aiko is the best sushi restaurant in Houston, bar none. The staff is exceptionally attentive to guests, and the food is spectacular. Also, the decor offers great photo opportunities. Do not think twice if you are in the mood for great food and ambiance!

Another great experience at Aiko. We always enjoy sitting at the sushi bar. Steven was the sushi chef taking care of us this time. I will say that his enthusiasm for the food he prepares and ability to anticipate what his customers will enjoy is phenomenal. You can tell that he really enjoys preparing food that satisfies his audience. Every time I visit Aiko, it is a personalized experience. My husband and I enjoy engaging with the chefs and trying something new and ordering past favorites. This is by far my go to sushi restaurant. The quality of the seafood and ingredients is always fresh and high quality. We will continue to frequent Aiko as long as we can sit at the counter and watch and engage with the hospitable chefs!

I'm not sure who is writing good reviews about this restaurant, but they must not be a real foodie. We went to this place because of their reviews at Opentable and because their menu looks interesting. Well, the flavors of their food did not match the description of the item. Not enough quality and flavor of any dish we ordered, and their prices were high for what you get. Definitely not coming back!

Food was definitely quite enjoyable. I was expecting good, but did not expect to reach into my top-10 meals. While all of the fish pieces were very fresh, the mushroom, crabs and uni were all quite amazing. The chef definitely highlighted the protein, but also was able to highlight all flavors when putting it together for a dish or a bit. We had a krudo, about 10 to 12 nigiri bites, a couple of handrolls and sake. We didn't order Omakase, but did order a variety throughout the menu. Enjoy it on a date or amongst a few friends.

We sat at the Sushi bar and it was an AMAZING experience! Steven the sushi chef was attentive, engaging and his crudo creations were MAGNIFICENTLY DELICIOUS!!! This is THE BEST sushi restaurant in Houston right now! A must go. So happy we live minutes away! Cheers!
