Visited Akira for my Bf birthday and he loved every dish! The quality of O-toro was excellent very fatty & melt in your mouth. I was very impressed with their sushi rice & soya sauce.. seasoned perfectly I say this because I’m usually a sashimi person as the rice usually takes
Away from the fish. Their Hokkaido scallops appetizer was super
Fresh and sweet & paired nicely with the tanginess of the kiwi. The most outstanding dish would be 48-hr Wagyu short rib! Super juicy, marbled and flavorful with an Au jus glaze. The potatoes purée was buttery rich and smooth. For the hungry fella out there some forgot
To order the Wagyu fried rice.. very savory with caramelized chunk of sweet onion. Our server was awesome and made very good recommendations. Well definitely come back 😋
Great food, great place for patio dining during covid19
The food is NOT good. It’s oily and deep fried. Been to a Michelin chef’s restaurant and this was not it. They forgot about one of our food items so 4 others were served then we sat for 45 min waiting for the last item. Absolute waste of money. The “Waygu beef” tasted like full fat ground beef. I could have had the same meal at my local sushi spot for $45. Server was awesome though.
Very disappointing. Workers not even wearing proper masks .. when I had to use the washroom they charged me for a mask. Food is over priced
Food prices went up. Quality went down. Service was mediocre at best but we were charged 20% auto gratuity for covid
2nd time dining at Akira Back, and again, it was incredible. One of my favourite restaurants in the city! The food is amazing. And again, the service was great. It was nice dining on the patio.
My second time coming - the first time I was blown away however this time I thought the fish was less fresh. Service was amazing though!
Everything is wonderful, because of the virus. Customers have to sit outside the restaurant, but that’s totally fine.
Very beautiful and joyful night 🙏🏻
Excellent service and food! Definitely will come back!
Excellent customer service.
The wagyu steak was unbelievable. The fried rice was wha
Gorgeous restaurant, amazing food & amazing Service. Our waitress Elizabeth was the best. She knew the menu well. Made great suggestions. Will definitely go back.
Amazing, highly recommend!
Mostly personal preference - every dish we ordered overwhelmed me with the taste of mayo :(. I much prefer the fresh taste of the fish which was always overpowered by the mayo.
My friend and I received the best service one can ask for! and one of the most tasty restaurants in Toronto! Highly Recommend!
Just Awesome! Will go back many times and would recommend the restaurant many times more.
I had an amazing date night at Akira Back. Incredible atmosphere, very tasty food, and our server was very knowledgeable on the menu and funny! My boyfriend and I don’t usually do date nights at places like Akira Back downtown, but Our experience that night was worth every dime. After dinner we went to the rooftop bar called Kost, and the manager Elijah was welcoming, friendly and made it a fabulous experience for us. Highly recommend!!
Great party place and food was perfect
Vibe is awesome. Our server was fantastic. Food is incredible. Loved the tuna pizza, crispy rice, wagyu tacos, and magic mushroom roll. SO good.
The food is excellent. We had the chef tasting menu and it was prepared to perfection.
The noise level is a little bit loud.
Did not like Omakase at all.
Wow, we really loved the food and service here. We are big fans of omakase, and this place has a really interesting menu.
We did the omakase with the wine/saki pairing, and thoroughly enjoyed all. Service was fast, pleasant and efficient, and the decor was pretty cool too.
Will DEF be back for more...
The food is delicious but I for the value I always leave hungry.
Gorgeous design, hidden gem. Delicious food and presentation. Pricey but memorable.
Mini tacos are great!
The food was amazing! The wagyu tacos are to die for!!!
Excellent food. Amazing service - some of the best we’ve experienced. The noise level was really loud and difficult to hear the servers and other diners. Overall I would highly recommend eating here
Good was incredible and our server was super informative. Highly recommend and definitely returning.
Skip the wagyu tacos, but everything else is amazing.
The saketinni is amazing for cocktails.
Both scallop dishes are ridiculously delicious, the tuna pizza is awesome, but the best dish is the wagyu - don. So good!
Great food and a spectacular staff. Best restaurant in Toronto.
Birthday - amazing service, amazing food. Wonderful atmosphere. Overall a great memorable experience
Not a great front of house experience , once we were seated everything was okay
Great ambience and excellent food. The starters were fantastic. We had a taste of many salads and hot share. The sea weed salad was exceptional. A must try! The sushi, rolls and sashimi were great but note that they are small portions. My ribeye was incredible and everyone else thought their main was excellent.
It was the most wonderful meal with a great server, would definitely return.
My girlfriend and I had dinner here on Valentines Day. The restaurant had a fixed 6 course menu. The standouts were the bass and wagyu beef. I was disappointed with the portion sizes. I think the issue was the fixed menu. Typically I would just order more to compensate but didn’t have the option because of the Valentines Day menu. I understand that it’s a busy night for the restaurant but it felt too much like an assembly line. Everyone did their job but no one went above and beyond to make it a great experience. Overall, Akira Back was okay. There are better options in the city.
