La Quercia Prosciutto Bite
Mozzarella House stracciatella, whole wheat fried dough
Roasted skate wing and pear salad were amazing, very good!
Highly regarded restaurant, but must have been way off game today. Short staffed, food disappointing, long wait for food. But wonderful seating outside.
Great experience. Chicken sandwich is fabulous. Wonderful service. Thank you.
We love alcove! Great food and wine, always a fun experience. Our server was great and very professional. Thanks so much for having us and showing us a great night.
Good and service were great! I wish the menu was a bit bigger. It was also a little cold inside.
A “nice” restaurant with a view and attentive staff overlooking the Boston’s Zakim bridge and a short walk from the Boston Garden and North Station. The food was mostly tasty but the the portions stupidly small. The “crab claw” appetizer consists of a single claw the size of your pinky finger for $4.00 apiece. Not fresh. Served spaded like little gravestones in a cup of ice. Accompanied by a simple mild aioli, otherwise tasteless and dry.
The pickle-of-the-day was a tangy string bean. The brine was lively with a hint of spice. The beans were tender and crisp. Again, the portion was modest even for a pickle appetizer.
Haddock sandwich featured a deep brown over fried 4 inch square piece of haddock on a drink coaster sized brioche bun. A tiny sad thing. No tartar, just mayonnaise and catsup. My guest loved the fries.🙂 how about that!
I thought the best entree was the chicken. It was served boneless, and grilled to a gentle crispness. There was a nice spice mix on the outside that went well with the accompanying lemon. Nice and moist.
Compared to the haddock sandwich, the chicken was a meal for a family of four. I was the envy of the table as thr portion was very reasonable and satisfying.
The staff was attentive and polite. The view outside memorable. The location a perfectly located meeting spot for a drink or small-small bite to eat.
Service not the best, but waiter was training in a new employee
Very friendly staff and the manager came over to say hello
We ate outside any you get a choice of a heater or umbrella
I would recommend and return again
First time visiting. Nice open outdoor space. Half chicken with crispy smashed potatoes was delicious! Burgers looked great. Will definitely visit again.
Waitress was fantastic and very attentive.
Our waiter was lovely and very tasty food.
Spectacular outdoor dining experience for brunch, dinner, or whenever.
This time we did BRUNCH-- the egg white frittata was served hot, and was light and flavorful. The ever-changing cocktail list impresses and surprises every season.
The staff is first rate-attentive, but not intrusive, and very friendly.
Good food. Friendly staff. Very close to TD Garden. Good outdoor seating.
Had a reservation for 12:45pm smack in the middle of walking the Freedom Trail. Online the menu looked like a good lunch spot. Arrive a few minutes early and noticed the host seemed flustered. The restaurant was mostly empty. The tables were very spaced but even of the few tables and bar seats inside, I would say half if not less were being used. Outside was busier but even then there weren’t that many tables and most of them only 2 people. We’re finally sat after being blatantly ignored by the full spectrum of employees. I’ve done my time in restaurants and it would have never been put up with for a waiter to not at least pause and say hello and that the host will be right with you. The phone rang several times and the same workers also totally ignored that. You’d think with a host clearly under distress someone would jump in. For the handful of tables there were plenty of staff, but no one helped. We sat without even waters for about 10 minutes before someone took our drink orders and then another 10 before the bartender came over and asked if we wanted any drinks like yeah the ones that have been sitting on the edge of the bar forever now. We ordered a few apps for lunch to pick at so we weren’t too full to continue our trek and even those took at least 30 minutes to receive. Watched as several tables were sat and ignored, ordered and waited and waited, and a few that didn’t receive all or part of their meals after waiting forever. I don’t know how you don’t realize that a table of 8 only received 7 meals but they did it. I don’t think the same waiter/runner/host/bartender ever approached the same table twice. Multiple times we were told “sorry for the wait, we’re really busy!”. Not sure what this place normally looks like but for a Saturday afternoon I was surprised we couldn’t hear crickets with the vast emptiness of this place. Otherwise food was fine. Prices ok.
Decent menu with raw bar options and specials. The food was just okay and service was good, but not anything special.
I’ve dined at Alcove multiple times, but the service was terrible on this occasion. It took 45 minutes to get our first round of drinks.
Perfect spot for a scenic outdoor lunch in the TD Garden/North Station. Food was excellent, service was attentive, but not overbearing.
Our waitress was awesome from the start.
surprised us with a glass of wine for our anniversary
Would love some heat lamps to keep us outside longer
We had a lovely afternoon sitting in the patio at Alcove. We enjoyed the seafood platter and a variety of other appetizers and sides, as well as dessert. An amazing way to spend a Sunny Saturday afternoon.
recommended for creative, quality cuisine
Came here for a friend’s birthday. Service was inconsistent, but food was good as usual.
Worst service I had in Boston. Food was ok, cocktails were mediocre. There are plenty of good restaurants in Boston, just skip this one.
Good food, healthy options, a bit overpriced for the portion sizes.
The grilled octopus with eggplant was absolutely delicious! Our server was very attentive.
We went to Alcove for a girls dinner to celebrate my friend's upcoming wedding. The night started as a total mess with us not being able to find parking due to a concert at the Garden and then it rained on us. However, our waiter Lee saved the whole night, he was soooo nice and attentive. All of his menu suggestions were delicious!! The food and drinks were good and the view is gorgeous!. How the night started was enough for me not to want to try the restaurant again but Lee's amazing service has changed my mind! I definitely recommend this place, I just wouldn't go on an event night.
The zucchini fritters were amazing. And as soon as it started to drizzle the staff immediately brought out umbrellas for those eating outside which were big enough to continue dinner, even with the rain.
Excellent food and atmosphere.
The time it took to order and receive our food was inordinate. We
Took a chance on Alcove from out of state, attending the Eagles at TD Garden. Excellent choice. Delicious drinks, great food, and outstanding service.
I was not super impressed with Alcove. The service was extremely slow and our waiter didn’t check in with us lunch. The zucchini fritters were delicious I didn’t love the main crab Noreen roll and the salmon wasn’t very good. See potatoes in my dish were hard. Cool location and great drinks though.
Wonderful patio setting with a great view of the Zakim Bridge to one side and the North Washington Street Bridge to the other side. The view will be even better once the construction of the Notrh Washington Street Bridge is completed. The traffic on the bridges was somewhat noisy but it did not ruin the experience, and there was good people watching as the North End section of the Harbor Walk went right by the patio. We loved the broccoli salad with the chicken. The chicken was a very generous portion perfectly cooked with a very tasty barbecue sauce. The sangria was also very good. Great place to go to especially if there's not an event at the TD Garden.
Everything was fabulous, except for the peach compote. We are recreating the dish with a lesser cheese using uncooked peaches because we loved the concept. Chef, you are superb, thak you for a wonderful meal. Server and host, you were very attentive. Thank you.
Alcove will always be special to us.
Great for drinks, appetizers, and desert. Didn’t find much that stood out on the entrees, so we ordered the special, pork tortellini, and were underwhelmed.
The view and ambience were really nice. Food menu options were limited. The serving portions were relatively small compared to the value. Cocktails were awesome.
The patio is nice, the food (chicken sandwich, fish tacos) was not good
The grilled cheese never fails here. Also, there's a black pepper tequila drink which is fantastic!
Always good food, creative drinks, helpful staff.
