Terrible worst food I’ve ever had in Dublin
Great service and great food! Will be back :)
I booked a table for 7 and called the restaurant an hour before to increase & they accommodated us! Food was good especially the Caesar Salad! Service can be improved - quite hard to get the waiters attention on a busy night. Also, we ordered an espresso shot and they forgot about it. When we asked for it there was the usual question of “did you not get it yet”? Overall, I would still go back for the food and good drinks!
I really enjoyed it and my friend did too, will be coming again
Adored every moment of my visit here
Upon arrival, we were met by very apologetic staff who offered us a table upstairs whilst waiting for a table to eat, due to delays. Had the staff not been so kind, it would have been a different experience.
The mojito I drank was somewhat lackluster, I would have preferred the sugar to be mixed into the drink better. The craft lager I drank, although somewhat fruity, was not the usual soft foamy crisp taste one expects from a lager. Drinks from me gets a brutally honest 6.5/10. Now we come to the food. Starters. We shared the buffalo popcorn chicken. I must say it was absolutely stupendous. Well cooked, well coated, well presented. For mains, we both went for the tower burger. It was more of aground floor apartment than a tower. Taste was excellent, presentation was great, but the name gets hopes up, only to be let back down. Food overall gets an 8.5/10. I’m not sure what his name was, but the tall, handsome and slim man with glasses was extremely amicable and great all night, as was the hostess !!
Alfies, you have most definitely lived up to the many positive reviews i have read. I would happily return again.
Price for me was, not expensive, but not what I would call reasonable. The burger in my opinion, although delicious, is overpriced.
Cocktail price are fair, however my suggestion would be to use sugar syrup for mojitos, rather than actual sugar.
All in all, very impressed. Will recommend to a friend, and would happily elaborate my negative points to a member of management if posible!!
In terms of what is needed, I don’t think change is correct, only improvements!!
Overall Alfies gets a 7.5/10. Loved it!
We really loved it, but it was so loud it was difficult to talk. We’re seniors, so that was our problem. The servers were great!
This was perfect for a casual lunch with friends. The staff were lovely. The food was tasty & we all loved the lunch box idea - there were so many options to choose from - all 4 of us were very happy with our choices. Will go again.
Service was absolutely brilliant, our waitress ( really sorry can’t remember her name) was really friendly and polite. The food was also great, the yellow curry was very tasty. Will definitely recommend to friends!
Trendy, funky vibe, this place is excellent value just off Grafton Street
If you're around the Grafton Street area of Dublin and you're looking for a reasonable place to eat that wont break the bank, go to Alfies. It's just off Grafton Street on South William Street, about a 3 minute walk from the centre of Grafton Street. It's a quirky restaurant full of young people. It serves great food and amazing cocktails. Five of us long time friends went for dinner on a Monday night and all cocktails are Euro 5 all night!!! Early bird Menu - Apres Work Menu is 19.95 and you choose on a 1, 2,3 basis, 1 - The Starter, 2 - the Main, 3 - the Side accompanying your Main.. Between us we had starters of tempura prawns, beautifully cooked, satay chicken with amazing satay sauce Mains chosen were, Thai curry, totally wonderful (choose your own protein, chicken, beef prawns), sesame salmon, cooked to perfection, served on mashed potato, and seabass wonderful. Sides chosen ranged from sticky rice, to fries and sweet potato fries and side salad. Everyone thought their food was delicious. There is also a full a la carte offering is also very reasonably priced. House wines 23 Euro to 27 Euro a bottle. Service is excellent, place is spotless, well worth a visit. Be aware, as it does say it on the menu, that all starters mains and sides all come together on the same plate
A fantastic day, the staff are phenominal!
Food great. Atmosphere great. Only sticking point for me was drinks were a little slow and staff were pretty quick to take starters away. Noone asked if we were finished them before they were cleared away. Other than that. Very good.
Great food and lovely cocktails
John was excellent! He really made our evening- such a lovely guy with a great personality so warm and friendly. Thanks John 😊
Great food and friendly, efficient staff. Would definitely recommend.
Myself and my boyfriend had a great meal for his birthday, I’ve been a few times now and would definitely recommend it.
Alfie’s is always a great place to catch up with friends. Good music, nice vibe, great food and even better cocktails 🍸
Food was good but expensive for what it was and the wine was poor quality.
Really poor service and food was bland. Starters and mains were mixed up and we were over charged when presented with the bill. Meal quality was extremely poor for the amount charged per dish. Would definitely not go again or recommend to a friend.
Will definitely be back. From the staff to the food it was fabulous. They couldnt do enough for us. Delicious cocktails just another reason to go back!!!!
Fab food and our waitress was extremely helpful and nice. The only complaint I have was the host as we entered the premises was extremely rude
Issue we had was no kids menu, we had 3 adults and 2 kids. We were told that although no kids menu we would be given child's portions however we were charged full price for all 5. 2 Cocktails included and 3 course meal for all 5 cost 220 euro which is ridiculous for 5 people. I said nothing as just won't return. This was our favourite restaurant up until now but value for money shocking.. The Lasagne was like a brick. Rest of food was nice but again telling you kid's portions and charging you full whack is not on.
feel free to reach out to me if any further questions
Great, waitress was nice and the meal was tasty
A really cool place to hang out and to grab some food and cocktails with your friend! I definitely would return to try more dishes as I've only tried the Chicken Caesar Salad in my last 2 visits. Staff were very attentive but not over-bearing. I booked a table for an advance surprise birthday dinner for my friend who was already seated when I arrived. However, as soon as I got in they greeted me with a Happy Birthday - I wasn't able to correct them as they brought me to the table and I didn't want to ruin the surprise to my friend about it. I think they assumed it was my birthday and asked for my ID to check if it really is and never mentioned anything about my request during our stay. I was the only one they asked for ID. It would be great if they are more attentive on requests such as this, and more subtle when confirming too but overall, we enjoyed the food and the service even though the people on our next table were very loud and disruptive.
It was my first time in Alfies. It's a very nice place, decor etc and it was very good for a nice meal and chat. Staff were attentive but not overbearing.
Very bad service, rude staff members. Wasn’t happy with the way I was treated.
Food is so tasty and nice sized portions. Service was very good and really nice atmosphere. Favourite restaurant in Dublin with the most delicious brownie I have ever tasted.
Food was delicious, very tasty. Drinks were lovely and the prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be back again
I really enjoyed the menu & lunch options - its quite different but works very well and the server explained it to us as we advised it was our first time going there. I will definitely be returning. The food was delicious and the vibe was really nice
Would highly recommend the food from alfies. Was absolutely delicious
Valentine’s Day 💕 - the staff are lovely and want to do all they can to make sure your okay. It was Valentine’s Day so we were all crammed into the back of the restaurant and we were against the wall where the servers walked by so we got the odd knock every now and again. Little bit over priced for soft drinks - a coke is 250ml bottle - smaller than a can €3.30 a bottle - my potato skins were really hard at the bottom and were a little tasteless and my Mac and cheese was cold - I’ve been to Alfies before and I could not fault the place - that’s why we went back for Valentine’s - but it just seemed like it was a bit get people in, get them fed quickly and get them out, environment. I would go back on a normal day but never on a day like Valentine’s Day again.
Amazing food and cocktails, great venue for catch up with friends, excellent service.
Fantastic food and service. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive
Food was gorgeous. We then sat upstairs and had a few drinks it was a great vibe. Definitely recommend to a friend and will be back soon. Dj was very good upstairs great music and great cocktails.
Lovely food, serving staff really friendly. Good value for money. Will go back and will also recommend to friends
food was just average. Staff were helpful. Wouldnt go back to be honest
The food and service was amazing. We had a party of 6 and had the best celebration while eating some delicious (and very well priced) food.
Two people attended for dinner. My food was nice and cooked okay. However, my boyfriends was burnt and the garlic bread was not fully cooked.
Our party of three had a lovely New Years Eve dinner. The food was really tasty and service was very efficient and friendly. We will definitely return.
Was nice but wasn’t as impressed as I was when I last went.
The atmosphere was good, food and service very good. We enjoyed the meal and everyone was pleased with their choices. The cocktails were very good and enjoyed by all.
