Food is always great. So fun to be able to try so many different things. Recommend going with a small group so you can share more. You'll leave full!

I absolutely LOVE Ambar

Seems to have gone downhill a bit. Food was mediocre, greasy and they tightened up the menu and it seems a bit one note.

As a big fan of Serbian food and rakija, I was excited to make Ambar my first destination after a year spent in Covid hiding.
Food did not disappoint and service was impeccable. I just didnt like sitting at a plastic picnic table on the side of a busy street. That ruined the experience a bit.
I am still looking forward to trying their DC location though, the food was THAT good!

I’ve gotten brunch here a few times, and every time was excellent. Definitely worth the price.

It was our first time here and the service was impeccable. My husband and I both had the unlimited small plates experience and we asked our server to be our guide since he grew up in the Balkin region. Everything he brought us was amazing. We’ll definitely be back.

The food was as by and large excellent and service was prompt and responsive throughout the meal. Lots of outdoor seating, appropriately spaced. My only issue was that the portion sizes have gotten a lot smaller than they used to me. The pork stuffed cabbage was just one little piece. Of course with the $35 option you can get unlimited, but seems like they used to serve more when they brought it out. Maybe a more temporary Covid thing.

The lunch express is one of the best lunch values in town. And the most delicious! A large variety of amazing food to suit anyone’s tastes. Highly recommend adding dessert, too!

We had to wait 30 minutes past our reservation time to get seated (taking away from our 2 hour bunch limit, since the kitchen closed at 3:30). After we were seated, we waited 15 more minutes before flagging someone down to get helped

Front desk are ignorant and simply rude. The servant was fine and food is ok. Slow service and they forget who order what.

We thoroughly enjoyed the $25 all you can eat lunch. Each of the little plates was unique and delicious, waitress made excellent recommendations.

We went for an early Sunday dinner. The food is always great. This time the menu seemed shorter, understandably due to COVID. We went for the "Ambar Experience," but found out that several of their lamb dishes were unavailable. They said that they were just out of lamb, unless it was in a ground meat form. They made no attempt to substitute for this significant gap in their menu. It was disappointing.

Appreciated the staff making every effort to accommodate our large group and having us seated at adjacent tables, while still observing Covid protocols. Thank you for a great experience.

Love this place - food is good amazing vibe and worth the money!

Always a treat to have dinner at Ambar! We love sitting at the high top tables in the bar area. Nicholas mixes up a delicious cocktail. The Ambar experience is the way to go. We love the Beet Tzatziki, the White Flatbread, the roasted Cauliflower and the roasted Brussel sprouts, the Balkan Kabobs, the Lamb Lasagna and the Beef short rib Goulash. Everything is always delicious and the service is always top notch. Ambar is our favorite spot in Clarendon!

Ambar may be the most underrated restaurant in the DC area. Fantastic food. Well priced. Demonstrating the Balkan spirit. Serbian food is fantastic. The experience here is similar to the experience in the Belgrade Ambar - just awesome. Ivan is a fantastic host/manager and is running a wonderful restaurant for all to enjoy.

Our server (Blaire) made the meal outstanding! Her recommendations helped us pick out good wine and food pairings, she provided a free drink sample with our dessert, and she had us all laughing out loud throughout the whole meal.

We were also happy to be seated in a little corner table that was well away from other diners.

Outdoor heat lamps are actually extremely warm and comfortable! I think the unlimited tapas is a great deal and way to explore the menu. I will say, a lot of the meat dishes were very salty but the chef may just have had a heavy hand that night. Overall great experience!

Best brunch in town

Their brunch menu has changed. Although it’s still delicious, there are less menu options. Mimosa is unlimited with brunch deal (25 cent each glass). But I was concerned with hygiene, because my glass smelled fishy and weird.
