Great dinner with the best octopus and mussel dishes I’ve ever had.
We sat at our table for 30 minutes, and no one from the staff ever approached to welcome us or take an order.
Amerikas is a wonderful restaurant. We liked the Nuevo Latino menu with several interesting dishes. Menu items are for sharing and my wife and I shared the Chile relleno, the barramundi, and the asada. All were delicious. Kosta, our waiter, was very attentive and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back.
Food was great, bold flavors but well balanced, ingredients are of high quality.
You should update the online menu. I checked it out before I came and it wasn’t available when I went to order.
Ahh! I have a new favorite! The food great, the drinks refreshingly great, and the service amazing! I highly recommend this place, if it's still on the menu the chuleta dinner is a must try.
Would love to eat here every day. Food is amazing, service is excellent. Cannot recommend more!
Amazing food served with pride.
This was truly a dining experience. Each did was unique and delightful. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff was excellent!
Enjoyed the “started” soup (amuse bouche)!!!!!
Service was very good. Decor is minimal and could use a refresh. Seating was a tad uncomfortable.
However, the food was amazing!!! My second visit and the food has definitely improved.
The food is fantastic as are the drinks and service. Everything is great and we will go back many times.
Have tried them before and experience was the same. Loved it! Not much variance in the menu, but the selections are broad enough for a variety of taste buds (including vegetarian), though not overwhelming. The ambiance can't be beat. Service is relaxed, but attentive. Favorites are the cauliflower small plate and scallops entree.
Loved it! Truly unique experience. Flavors a fusion and not distinctly Mexican
The staff & chef are all very attentive> The food is freshly prepared and unique blend of spices.
Great food. Great variety of choices on the menu.
Very much enjoyed Amerikas. It was our first time there and can't wait to go back. Delicious food. Small menu which was my main reason for taking so long to go there but the dishes are so well done, you have lots of wonderful options. I highly recommend.
Very good local option. Reasonably priced ; variety; good for vegetarians
Celebrating Father’s Day
The food is amazing, but they have to work on their food timing. Some of us had to wait for our food so that we couldn't all start together and the salad that we ordered as a starter came with the rest of the food. Otherwise, the experience was great.
This is not the same experience for brunch as it is for dinner. Arrived at 10am when our reservation was, but the front door wasn’t open until 10:10. Food didn’t arrive for an hour. 15 mins after getting our food the server brought our check. 5 mins after that he picked it up and put it right in front of me and asked me if we could pay now. Food was still being eaten. Food tasted good, but greasy. Won’t be back for brunch ever.
Had a table for 8. A little
Loud so sitting in the middle I could hear everyone but the people at the opposite ends couldn’t hear well. The service and food were remarkable. Really liked the rellenos and chicken. I don’t eat octopus but my friends do and loved it. Would go back TOMORROW
The food was excellent, but the waiter was very rude it’s a shame the personnel is not well trained.
Love the small plate menu, which allows you to taste a lot of different dishes, all unique and prepared to perfection. Cocktails also are wonderful and the servers are so friendly.
This restaurant is a must, no matter what your cuisine preferences. Three of us shared an appetizer and three dishes. Each item was better than the one before; all were excellent! Service also terrific.
There was one server for inside and sidewalk. He was not at all welcoming, didn’t have time to be. We ordered iced tea (it was on the menu), they don’t have iced tea and haven’t had time to update the menu and by the way “ we don’t have decaf coffee or steak and eggs. The brunch menu was very limited and the lack of items limited it even more. We left and went to an nearby restaurant. The server was very relieved.
Sangria was excellent-very different
Pineapple flan was superb
Vegetarian cauliflower was very tasty
Entire meal was wonderful and their recommendation for 3 dishes per couple was perfect to be satisfied but not feel you overdid it. We had 6 dishes for 4 people not counting the shared dessert.
Amazing restaurant! I drove past this place a few months ago and then found them on Instagram. The food and aesthetic looked phenomenal. I went there this past Saturday for lunch and was not disappointed. Great, interpersonal service experience, the food was amazing. You can tell that eat plate is prepared with full effort from the cook. The space is open and welcoming. I'll be back for dinner very soon.
Flavors fabulous!! Sauces and farro, etc., make dishes quite exciting. Small space. Drinks delightful but $$$$. Will be going back many more times.
The restaurant was nice. It’s very cozy and has good lighting for a special occasion. We were greeted warmly and seated quickly. We got a drink from the bar which was good, because our server didn’t show up for quite some time. The other couple in our party was really looking around for a drink before he came. My pear bourbon drink was innovative and tasty. The wait on the food wasn’t bad. The tacquitos we got were good, but over fried and super crispy crunchy. The hummus was very nice, well-presented and tasty. The presentation of the meals is fancy and the food all looks tasty. The water glasses were small which means our server needed to come back frequently, which didn’t happen. We were left looking around quite often for him, as we were often left without water.
Overall a nice place. They have a nice small menu. But it was noisy and service was subpar for a Saturday night. We were disappointed but would try it again sometime.
Food was very flavourful and delicious. We specifically loved the calabazita (pumpkin with mushroom risotto), Barramundi and Asada - although all the dishes were great. I had forgotten how good the food was and am glad we went here for Mother’s day dinner.
Symphony of flavors!!! Just interesting execution of the medley of ingredients in every plate. Kudos to the chef! Will be back again.
Excellent food and terrific service.
Food was unique, flavor profiles were fantastic. Service was snappy and server was great.
Though a somewhat limited menu, all items are very well prepared. Excellent presentation and service to match. Highly recommend for a night out in Oak Park.
I took my husband here for his birthday, and when I made the reservation, I asked for a cake with a candle. However, my request was ignored by our waiter. Being that this is my husband’s favorite restaurant, this experience was especially disappointing.
Potbelly is a must try... though you really can't go wrong with anything.
Be adventurous, bring friend(s) to share and have a great dinner, you will not be disappointed
I love the food, the staff, and everything about Amerikas. I just found out they are offering brunch so I'll be there weekend mornings now too. Eric is the best waiter and a delight. Go. You'll love it. We had guests in from London who were very pleased and will remember the night and the menu for years to come. They also modified the dishes for my gluten free and vegetarian needs. I got plenty to eat. Don't miss the chocolate dome for dessert.
Easily one of my favorite spots in Oak Park! A wonderful variety of beautiful small plates and delicious cocktails.
This is the second time I’ve been here this week - by far, one of my favorites. Phenomenal food, great service and amazing ambiance. Treated a friend for his birthday and without asking, the wait staff added a lit candle to our dessert. Highly, highly recommend! Great job, Armando and staff!
