Andiamo In Banca
I love the ambiance, literally is a bank (banca) .
Neighbor was nice, too. It was our first time there.
Raviolis were amazing, with soft butter and tomato. Service was very efficient.
Father’s Day dinner!
Parking is very tough as the restaurant is on the corner of Linden and Grand Avenues. The restaurant was pretty quiet for lunch time and the service was a little slow. I had the Pappardelle with meat sauce and it was good. That's about all I can say but I will try it again soon. maybe at night the bank parking lot may be available.
The food was delicious. Pasta was homemade.
We will return.
Food was good but portions are not. Great service!
Great new place right off of Grand Ave. Not your traditional Italian food. Much lighter, with very fresh ingredients. Different from nearby Joe’s or Bertolucci’s, which are great but sometimes mundane. Will definitely be back
great gathering with friends , good food and drinks
Great location and service. Their pasta home made. Definitely come back
I had a confirmed reservation for two at 10:00 pm on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Andiamo In Banca. When we arrived, no one greeted us, and there was no one working at the desk. A server walked over and asked if he could help. I told him that I had a reservation via Open Table for 10:00 pm. He looked me in the eye and said: "our kitchen just closed. I'm sorry." He offered no alternative, never looked to see if the reservation was listed online, and we had nowhere else to go. We had driven an hour to get there, and ended up having to grab In-N-Out Burgers because of this extreme EPIC FAIL. Being from the east coast, we knew nothing about the area.
The food was authentic Italian and the chef, who is from Sicily, came to our table to check on our meal. He spent time conversing and answering our questions. The ambiance is very distinct since this restaurant was once a bank! Help was efficient and very professional. We enjoyed our meal and will come back!
Had a great time... good was great
Great time celebrating a family birthday outing. Food was delicious and generous fish portions and yummy deserts.
Such a cute restaurant in a former bank. Next time I’m going to book a party so I can eat in the bank vault!
Excellent meal- chef greeted us, owner sat at our table and shared a glass, servers were just the right level of attentive and the food was excellent!
This is the best Italian restaurant and one of the best overall restaurants in the area. The food is fantastic. Very well thought out, seasoned, cooked and presented. Fresh ingredients handled with respect and care. Foodies will be happy! Dishes like Brussels-sprouts with copious amounts of pancetta and fresh baked bread with a tapenade that is both complex and simply yummy. Fresh ravioli hand cut with outrageous stuffing of spinach and cheese in a sage butter with a fresh tomato sauce. Perfect pork in a mountain of mushrooms over spring veggies and excellent smashed potatoes. Hungry yet?
And the service has greatly improved since they opened with attentive staff and casual but pointed service. The only thing lacking are a few soft surfaces to mitigate the echo in the large bank lobby space. Otherwise a perfect dinner. .
I’ve been at Andiamo twice and have been extremely satisfied. Service is good, food is served hot, tasty and served as ordered even when a change is requested. Pleasant atmosphere, all servers are cordial. Will return soon.
Great as always, that’s why I keep coming back and bringing different people each time!
Everything about Andiamo in Banca was perfect. The food was excellent. The service could not have been better. Only one negative . . . The parking was terrible. We arrived an hour early to find a place. Another couple took fifty minutes to find a parking place. Valet parking would greatly increase their business.
It was good. Food was good. Not outstanding, but not terrible. I take that back. The diavola pizza was really good. Sauce and toppings were excellent and the crust had a nice texture to it as well. Short rib and gnocchi could have used a touch more salt, I think, but the short rib was cooked perfectly. Had the Caprese and calamari as appetizers and they were fine.
Service was ok for the most part. At some points you could see the staff bickering, which was a little off putting. Our server was great, but they seemed a little short staffed on that end.
They didn't have the full menu, rather a shortened Mother's Day menu, which was kind of a bummer. The menus were just on 8.5x11" photocopies on regular paper, which doesn't affect the food at all, but it did make the place seem kind of cheap.
The interior of this place should have played up the bank or had something that matched the white exteriors more, but instead it had a warm palette of faux marble pattern on walls that only went maybe 12 feet high. Colors you'd see at an Italian restaurant. I feel like they could have played up the old vault more, but I took a peek inside and it looked like standard seating inside. Nothing special.
It's fine. It could have been more, but it's not. Ignore the fact that it's inside a bank and expect a regular Italian restaurant and you won't be disappointed. It's well made Italian food and that's what counts. Or get your order to go.
Table wasn’t ready, restaurant not equipped for high volume and there was a crumpled receipt in the bottom of a drink. Waiter tried his best to accommodate but he was new and was swamped. It took three reminders for bread. First batch was mediocre, the remaining bread was better. Food was ok, nothing spectacular besides the gnocchi. But the receipt in the drink was quiet upsetting.
Among the best Italian restaurants in the Peninsula area.
High quality food and ingredients at reasonable prices.
Spacious with very nice ambiance.
They just need to hire a couple of bus boys to help out on busy nights.
This has become our neighborhood go-to Italian restaurant besides Pausa in San Mateo (which is also very nice though pricier and smaller portions/less ingredient - eg not enough cheese on pizza), and we will gladly drive all the way from Hillsborough for good Italian food.
They start you off with bread with dipping sauce. The beet salad was flavorful with arugula & goat cheese. The gnocchi was very good, rich so it was hard to eat a full serving. Finished off with veal scaloppini with mushrooms & Marsala sauce.
The food is fine to good, the menu hasn’t changed since opening night. We thought that the menu is limited. Whoever decorated the place missed the mark, it’s not comfortable you just want to eat and get out of there. I realize it has to be a challenge to redo what used to be a bank. Don’t think we’ll return.
Music was a bit loud.
Chef was able to accommodate our granddaughters wishes for pasta with Alfredo sauce. There is no kids menu.
Service was great.
Wonderful consistent food. Fantastic service. It’s a very spacious restaurant with high ceilings. The large windows and lovely lights make it bright and cheerful during the day and provide a nice ambiance for a special dinner. Food is fantastic. I had the chicken which would seem basic but it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The salads and soups are great too. My favorite dish is the steak and then any of the pastas. They are all really fresh and delicious. They just hired a new GM who is a sommelier as well. Can’t wait to see what Joey will do with the beverage offerings.
Great food and service, The noise level was very low except for the 15 of us for my Birthday party.John Akkaya is always accomodating and greets us when we arrive. The menu is not huge but what is offered is extraordinary. Do not miss the chance to dine here!
This was our second time at Andiamo In Banco. Love the vibe and location. Glad to see downtown SSF get a new dinner spot.
I thought the food the second time around was even better than the first. I love that the chef/owner came out to check on us during the evening.
Look forward to making this a go to spot.
Glad to have this new restaurant in the neighborhood. Fresh pasta, salads and fish. Service was perfect.
Tried it once and came back for a second time since I enjoyed my first visit! Will keep coming back for sure! Wonderful service and ambience, good food and value, fun cocktails.
Food was good. Service personnel were very personable and friendly but they were busy serving others which caused service and dinner to be longer than it needed to be. Restaurant should consider hiring more people.
I love the ambience, and I trust the service will get better as the staff works out their kinks.
Loved the bread and sun-dried tomato olive oil spread that was complementary!
The bartender was out sick, so the servers had to make a cocktails, which was A good experience.
The chef walked around to make sure we were happy, which was a nice touch.
The food, however it is needs some attention, especially the veal, which was tough. The chicken was dry and tasteless & The pasta was too done.
We will Try again in a few weeks🤩
Friendly staff. Good food and desserts. Kind of cool that the restaurant was an old bank...there’s even seating in the vault. Will be going back.
Good service. Ravioli in marinara very fresh and light. Second time eating there. Will return.
Fabulous food! Kitchen is run by a real Sicilian. Wonderful wine list as well.. they even feature a Greco di Tufo.
It’s a new neighborhood gem. Will definitely go back to try other dishes!
Everything was great and the service was flawless. A fun and friendly restaurant.
Food was slightly less scrumptious than our first visit (rigatoni and pizza were a little less flavorful).
Staff was attentive, but it took longer than expected to place our order, considering there were very few people there at the time, and it was the lunch hour, when most people need to get in and get out - we can't dawdle, unfortunately.
Glad we tried it for dinner; we will definitely go again. The pasta was amazing.
Waiter was very attentive to detail. Person replenishing water at tables was better this time in observing patrons’ empty glasses. Food was excellent as usual. Serve staff bringing bread on a round tray made it more personable somehow. Dessert was always good sized portions for the cost.
