Amazing 🥳🥳

Cabin fever finally got the better of us, so we headed Downtown to see the Inaugural preps. We were looking for a place with outdoor dining and a good selection. The all-day brunch deal at Ankara is terrific. Lots of choices, lots of variety, and all the small plates are well-prepared and tasty. We ate in a little garden shed type structure, with the door open for air circulation. We left feeling well taken care of, well fed, and crossing our fingers that Ankara, like so many places in DC, will be able to hang on until we can eat out normally again.

Always a solid spot for brunch. Friendly service, excellent food. I love the proportions are just the right size, not too big, not too small which means you get the chance to sample a nice selection of different plates.

Ankara is always a great experience for me and my friends. This will be my third time dining with them and they always nail the food right on and the service is unbeatable. I definitely recommend for anyone looking for an outdoor, safe, heated space that also includes a fabulous bottomless brunch!

The food is excellent here and their bottomless brunch is quite a deal! I just wish the server had a bit of help on pouring mimosas because she couldn't keep up.

COVID precautions are excellent. Individual bathrooms inside, very clean and clearly marked.

This was our second time eating at Ankara, and it will not be our last. Coming from a Turkish background, the food and atmosphere were very authentic. The food was very good, we especially enjoyed the Pastirma Pide and the Lahmacun. The bottomless mimosas are very generous, which was appreciated. Turkish coffee was excellent, as was the tea. They have little green houses set up with heaters and tables so that some comfort can be achieved while still dining outside. Baklava is made with pistachio which delighted my Turkish mother. Our waiter, Jesus, was excellent and very attentive.

It was very nice to sit in a greenhouse, like a tent, and have the waiter visit a few times. The food was good, especially the chocolate tahini dessert.

Brandon and Berk were both great. Really enjoyed everything. Good food and drink.

We keep going back there. My non-Turkish friends are really impressed with this restaurant. The food, the ambiance are both excellent. The service is very good. This was our first time for brunch and it did not disappoint, either. We loved it!

Great food and amazing waitstaff. Sat outside for brunch and it was great. Only complaint was other patrons who could be a bit less responsible about distance and masks, especially after a few mimosas. Recommend but be careful to avoid other guests if go. Outside space, however was great.

Well meant but badly executed Mediterranean dishes. The kofte was overcooked, patates (potatoes) too oily, and the dolma leaves tough and veiny. Best was the cocktail, Levante, with pomegranate. However, even that was ruined as the server seemed to have the idea that I should drink the cocktail with my dishes; my request to serve the appetizers after I finish the cocktail was ignored. Then I ordered a beer, which didn’t arrive until my last bite of the kofte.

We enjoyed the socially distanced “greenhouses” they did outside. Food was delicious - especially the “tandir” and lsigara borek”... We will definitely be back.

Small plates dining with delicious food. Everything our group had tasted great. Also a very safe environment and a very friendly server with menus available via QR code. I will come back.

Staff was great and pleasant. Food was really good. 2nd time there and will definitely be back.

We had a lovely lunch at Ankara this week. The food is very interesting, well-presented and delicious; the service was top-notch. The restaurant was careful with social distancing. I would definitely return to try more dishes.

We loved the creative cocktails and all the food options! Our server Kim was so friendly and kind, we really enjoyed talking to her!

Our second time there. Everything was good. My favorites were probably the sucuklu tost, the meatballs, and of course the baklava. I've already made another reservation.

Interesting menu. All you can eat provides great variety of small portions. Food was milder than expected, not particularly spicy or flavorful. Staff pleasant & competent. Nice interior design. $29 weekday brunch all you can eat & drink (Mimosa or Bloody Mary) a great deal.

experience wise it was a very chic restaurant but the food was just awful! it was bland and the lamb chops were half burnt! super disappointed.

Service was very good. Food is average. Value with Travelzoo is good.

The lamb chops and slow cooked lamb were great, but everything else was lack luster. The red wine gave me an immediate headache, the spinach pide was tasteless, and the tomato feta salad was lacking seasoning.

We were the last table to leave that evening. We had to get up because I kept seeing rats running across the sidewalk entrance to the restaurant. Finally one ran towards our table and that was it for us. We told the waitress and her response was "well its Dupont at 10pm, so it's going to happen."

You must try the baklava! It's some of the best I've had.

$29 for bottomless brunch on weekdays! My friends and I went on Veterans Day and it was an amazingly good experience! Service wasn’t perfect, but it was solid. They were very busy. The food is great and it’s worth it for full price but even more so for the weekday deal.

Had a really wonderful dinner outside at Ankara's large patio. Ordered the 3 cold mezzes (Hummus, Muhammara, and Mutabbal), the Shepherd's Salad, Halloumi, and a Spinach Pide. All of the food was excellent, would recommend any one of those dishes. It was a very good Covid-safe setup, and the service was prompt and helpful. Will definitely be back again.

Love this restaurant. The menu is structured so that you can try as many items on the menu as you like without breaking your wallet. Everything is so good. I've not had anything that I would not order again.

My only complaint is the outside (we ate outside) tables are a bit close together. Since people eat without a mask on - some more space between tables would be great.

Staff was wonderful and the food came out promptly and with a nice flow. Definitely recommend doing the mezze (small plates) style dining, there’s so many yummy bites on the menu. Portions were slightly large, but no complaint there.
