Aragosta at Goose Cove
Arigosta was the full experience, caring personnel who made you feel welcome and at home, a beautiful, warm decor that invited you to spend time, thoughtful, local, deliciously prepared and presented food. It was a rare treat. We truly appreciated every moment and every person who was so kind towards us.
Fantastic food and presentation, gorgeous decor and table settings. Service was a little slow, likely due to this being the last night of the season and limited staff. Can't wait to return.
Lovely dining room, great wait staff, and wonderful meal.
Aragosta is well worth the trip, be sure to reserve well in advance. The views are breathtaking and the cuisine is superb—locally sourced, beautifully presented, perfectly cooked. The chef and kitchen team are amazing!! The ambiance is lovely and our server was excellent. Aragosta is a special experience, we highly recommend it!
Aragosta has delicious, fresh, innovative food served by a friendly, attentive staff in a warm, stylish, comfortable environment in one of the most beautiful spots on the coast of Maine. Love it!
Outstanding on every level. Devin's cuisine is divine, and what a joy to have this special restaurant in our little town.
I dined alone at Aragosta on this occasion. The opening cocktail was the best I have had for a time. My salad was wonderful and my entrée, duck breast, was beautifully prepared, and with a fantastic rich taste. The cocktail was so good I had another for dessert.
They just get better and better. A close to perfect meal.
A fabulous brunch on the deck in July and an incredible dinner in October was as, as usual, exemplary. I have read and heard many complaints about the noise in the new location and I agree. Hopefully something will be done to correct this problem over the winter. Carpet tiles along the main walking area leaving the tables on the lower level on the bare floor would be great as they can easily be replaced individually if need be. Linens on the tables and fabric chair covers would also help and add to a little more class as well. Swags over the the windows not obstructing the view would also help. Thank you, Devon, for giving us such a fabulous dining experience here on this special island!
Its remarkable what these folks have accomplished at Aragosta. The park-like setting at the end of a winding country road, is pure coastal Maine with southern views over the deep blue ocean and far flung islands. The building is minimal in concept/design, utilizing the stunning view and fauna yet just as successfull in creating an absolutely wonderful ambiance inside. The fieldstone fireplace is central to to warm atmosphere. The service is impeccable, informative. The selection ranges from the familiar (Lobster dinner) to the unfamiliar (at least for me) The food is georgeous in its presentation and delectable flavors abound. And a good amount of food was served. I was well fed, not stuffed but certainly didnt leave hungry. Just perfect all around. As the sun set and the warm ambiance eliminated the inside, I felt like I was at some kind of remarkably civil dinner party. I finished my appetizer then hung out on the leather sofa in front of the fire place and was politely notified when the next course was ready... others strolled out to the sprawling porch/deck with coffee or a glass of wine. I could just go on and on... it's such a great experience.
This is the "go to" restaurant when you want to impress your friends and family with a wonderful experience. I have never had poor service or anything go wrong when I choose to eat there. The grilled duck was amazing melt in your mouth cooked to perfection. The lobster pasta dish is excellent. The wait staff is professional, warm & friendly, and well trained. No grumpy help here!
Fantastic dinner, top notch service. One in a party of three has celiac; server and kitchen were very very attentive to ensure everyone experienced the taste and presentation of each course. Highly recommended.
Devin has really come into her own at Goose Cove. We’ve dined at Aragosta several times this summer. It’s always been a great culinary experience.
Beautiful location, delicious food, lovely and knowledgable service. Expensive, but worth it for a special occasion! We hope to go back next season.
The space and location are gorgeous. The food was fresh, local and deliciously prepared. Would have liked to see another fish option on the menu. The servers were very helpful but we felt they needed more of them. While all beautifully prepared and quite tasty the timing of our appetizer, first course, main, bread and the kitchens tastings all came out too close to each other or on top of each other. We had to wait for our reservation and then again to order a cocktail. We really enjoyed Matt the sommelier who was very attentive. All of his recommendations for wines new to us paired perfectly with each course.
We arrived at sunset to see the beautiful deck and beach. Would be nice if the outside was softly tastefully lit at night so we weren’t just looking out at darkness from our table. This is all constructive criticism. We will definitely be returning and recommending to friends.
As always , perfection in the most beautiful surroundings.
Expensive - but worth every penny. The service, the food, the presentation was worth every penny. The view is spectacular. The use of local foraged foods native to the island made it a really special experience. We dine out a lot and highly recommend! Hope they can stick around!!
We've now enjoyed several meals at Aragosta and would describe the noise level as overly loud and challenging to table conversations", not "energetic." We're hoping in the future that you will consider sound dampening as a means of reducing the ambient noise factor.
Our first two evenings at Aragosta were exceptional, relative to our actual food choices. This most recent meal was, however, a bit underwhelming. The focaccia tasted stale, as did the butter. And the pasta in the linguine and clams entree was far from resembling linguine as we know it. Very disappointing, as was the presentation for this dish. And we had to ask for a bowl for the shell orts.
We will be dining once again on 9/27 with good friends from California. We've raved about our previous dinners at Aragosta with them and look forward to more of the same exceptional offerings.
How in the world does she get those flavors. Absolutely exquisite. The location is enchanting even though the first sign from the road is difficult to see before you pass it. Oh well, as long as you get there.
Wonderful place!! An excellent experience from start to finish! We loved this restaurant and the food, appetizers, drink’s and desert were amazing! I would highly recommend. It is quite a dining experience and the beautiful views from every seat in the restaurant make it an extra special place. Beach below is beautiful. Go before your reservation and see for yourself. We tried their linguine and clams, oysters, haddock and lobster dishes as well as their cheese board. They were wonderful! The chef is spot on!! Thank you for a wonderful dinner and hospitality - we will be back. 👍👍
food was so disappointing. View is terrific, but food - not so much
My weekend guests were sophisticated foodies from The Bay Area. We had dinner twice at Aragosta and both times had excellent service by wait staff Alison. Matt satisfied our special request from the wine cellar. Not one disappointment in the apps and entrees between the 3 of us. Love, love, love Aragosta. Even better than at former location which I also patronized frequently and my guests were familiar with as well.
Truly memorable dining experience, exceptionally good food. amazing flavors. Authentic farm to table, locally sourced. Even the linens and dinner ware is locally made and they churn their own butter and make their own sea salt. The food is delicious, the Lobster Casoncelli is incredible. Top all of this off with a wonderful setting, with beautiful view of Goose Cove and a very warm and inviting staff all together a great place to experience.
Fantastic service, great location. Loved the amuse-bouche and the sorbet palette cleanser. The appetizers were fantastic, though the eggplant entree was a little light on substance and not that filling.
Outstanding FOOD, SERVICE & LOCATION! Devin and her team have totally transformed the old Goose Cove Lodge and it looks incredible! Such a treat to enjoy the food we love from Aragosta in the beautiful new setting!
We absolutely love this place. Best waterfront restaurant in Maine!
We had such high hopes driving from MDI (not short trip)
Very slow to seated, very! Slow to get a waiter , and when he arrived was a chatty disorganized chap. Took forever just to get a drink
Food varied. Filet excellent, quail was worse than store bought chicken fingers w nothing else on plate but a light smear of guacamole
So much staff running around but no one got even close to attending to us
Lovely interior, great views but we won’t be recommending or going back
This is an amazing restaurant from start to finish. The food is lovely, so creative and special and locally sourced. The service is beyond gracious. The dining room is beautiful and of course looks out on beautiful Goose Cove. I felt I was part of something very special. My husband loved it as well.
Wonderful world class farm to table food with local ingredients with an equally amazing view
Gorgeous spot and absolutely amazing food. Local produce, fish and meat prepared with love and creative twists. Will be making a yearly summer pilgrimage here from now on!
It was just lovely. Food presentation excellent. Wine selection suggestions for each food. Pleasant well trained staff and beautiful location. I would love to stay there in the future.
Aragosta is in a beautiful setting at Goose Cove and the dining room is lovely.
Portions are relatively small and prices are high. A main course of sliced tomatos, some burrata
and a few pieces of fried eggplant was good, but expensive at $30. The pasta with clam sauce
was gummy. Go for the setting, but be aware of the cost.
Fantastic food- incredible setting. wonderful service. They even made an effort to make our kids feel special and enjoy the experience. It was a treat for the entire family-- the way dining should be! I would definitely recommend and I plan to return again!
Our server Rosie was cheerful and patient, Matt ‘s suggestions about our wine selection was excellent.
Almost perfect. Ambiance and view are incredible, service is top notch, and the detail around the food preparation almost flawless. The only item that "suffered" were the locally raised lamb chops. They were cooked as requested, and tasted good, but the fat to meat ratio was too high, and ultimately not very filling, especially for the price. The only other small complaint is that they could benefit from more wines by the glass. Otherwise, a close to perfect meal.
Delicious food and beautiful setting
We loved the setting, the decor and the food at Aragosta....everyone at the table loved their dinner!!! Would highly recommend it!
A completely wonderful dinner. The lob-stah pasta with the Gorgonzola cream and butter sauce was to die for. The salad had 7 different lettuces’ and had a light dressing. The wine list was very nice. Dessert was quite nice and the 44 North coffee topped off a very pleasant meal with lovely bride. We will definitely return to this beautiful ocean setting.
