Overpriced and overrated. There are better options in Los Altos.
Excellent, creative food. Very nice wine list. Excellent service. Lively dining area.
We have eaten at Asa several times now. It never disappoints, always delights us. This last visit was to celebrate my wife's birthday. The staff is excellent only rivaled by the food. We'll be back.
Great ambiance and location. The food is good and the service excellent.
Fantastic wine and amazing food.
Excellent service as always. Food was great and they had a little birthday ice cream for my sister-in-law. Will be back again for more!
This restaurant is a fantastic retreat in Los Altos. It's a place to enjoy cuisine with the perfect combination of top quality ingredients and flavors. The staff is always highly professional and warm. The owner is one of the nicest fellows you'll meet. The menu changes according to the season and it's always a wonderful surprise. But don't worry, some regular staples are always available.
Really enjoyed everything about this dining experience!! Our waiter was beyond exceptional!!
We had a 4:45pm reservation and our waiter was fantastic. The food was over the top and the price was totally reasonable.
This place is very good. We would go back. Our group ordered mushroom pasta, paella, and jamon for appetizers and scallops, bowl of Soul, and trout for our main course. Our favorites: mushroom pasta and paella, and bowl of soul...our least favorite was the trout. We felt it was missing something. Delicious overall. Attentive service.
Great food, lovely servers, we will definitely go back soon.
The food is amazing! The Paella Valencia, hand finished at the table, is a must try. The staff is spectacular. Kevin is an amazing server. Super knowledgeable and very engaging. James' cocktail recipes are not to be missed.
Clam appetizer was delicious! Duck was very tender, and generous portion. Scallops also perfectly cooked and very tasty. Service was prompt and attentive. Lobster toast was underwhelming, though, as was the romaine lettuce salad which just had uncut leaves of lettuce and some sprinkles of parmagiano cheese. Would try their ham appetizer next time, sounds good!
This is the type of place where everything on the menu is great. There are no wrong choices. The staff did a wonderful job taking care of us. Had a blast and will come back for sure.
Asa is a fantastic restaurant, the best in Los Altos for our money. My wife and I have been going there every 2-3 weeks since last November (2018), and it has never disappointed us.
Love the unique dishes, drinks, and decor. We absolutely enjoyed our dinner experience here, the server was very helpful and knowledgeable. We wanted to order too many things and she guided us in making our decisions. We plan to keep going back until we've tried everything...
Delicious imaginative food. Especially loved the lobster toast and clams. Someday want to go and try a sample of drinks and all the appetizers on the menu. Caution: they have a $30.00 corkage fee but you can try wines by the glass.
Amazing service. Amazing drinks. Amazing good. Neighborhood gem.
Food was stunning, service impeccable. Perfect evening with good friends...
The main course meat portions were a little on the heavy side. It would be better if cut down the size and charge less. Personally I would like to try a variety of staters.
It is a waste of money and appetite if you could not finish the main course.
Amazing service - professional and accommodating. Outstanding food - fish, scallops, appetizers. The atmosphere is very lively, and the deco - sophisticated.
Awesome place! We had a dinner meeting there are it was perfect!!!
Wonderful evening with family. Looking forward to retuning very soon.
Very approachable wine list. Servers well versed in wine pairing recommendations. Food is outstanding. The starter salad was very fresh--definitely not bagged lettuce. Recommend the lobster toast as a starter. Halibut dish was expertly prepared. Stuffed fillet mignon dish was a work of art, the seasoned spinach was a tasty pairing. I ordered the steak medium rare and it was amazing. Wait staff and greeter extremely welcoming. We will definitely return.
Asa is legitimately my favorite restaurant. They are always coming up with new inventive dishes that blow everything else out of the water. Their cocktails are genius, we had a lavender and grapefruit milk punch (they have 3 rotating milk punches at any time), and I had a bourbon and blood orange drink that I've gone back for twice now. We had scallops over a corn risotto and a halibut that was pan seared and finished by steaming it over tea leaves with ramps and mushrooms... their menu always changes, but their dedication and consistency doesn't. They are always consistently inventing new unbelievable ways to prepare their fresh and sustainably sourced ingredients. I love Asa so much and will forever be a customer.
Excellent modern Mediterranean inspired food. The appetizers of potatoes in duck fat and the clams were great as was the roast chicken entree, and the spicy arribiata pasta
Great food. Fun vibe. Very attentive service. A bit too noisy but worth it.
Amazing food and service.
Everything about this place was exceptional.
Great food and service! Chef Robert is creative and has a well rounded menu. The lobster toast and paella is amazing!
It took so long to get our food - over an hour and a quarter from ordering! - that I had to leave to pick up my kids before I even received it. I don’t think it was even comped! Just stuck into a doggy bag for me to eat cold later. Bummer.
Food was delicious and reasonably priced. We had halibut and it was just perfect, the way it should be. The sides chosen for halibut were a perfect fit. Loved it.
Service is excellent. Waiters missed us at first but they apologized and made up for their mistake by being extra attentive! Thanks!
Everything was great. Only negative was that paella appetizer, though delicious, was drenched in oil. It was difficult to ignore the pool of oil while trying to eat it.
Great wines in the by-the-glass list, amazing food, great service. The restaurant's only negative is in embracing the current trend of simply ludicrous noise levels.
Best new restaurant in Los Altos, arguably the best overall. Would recommend the trout, and steak specials. Lobster toast is a must. Service is excellent. Drinks are consistently great. I love this place.
I've been to ASA several times and always have a great dinner here. My wife and I celebrated pour anniversary here this weekend. The restaurant was hopping. Appetizers were delicious - shrimp (perfect for me, little spicy for my wife) and paella Valencia (we always get this one). We both had fish - the trout was fantastic, made to perfection. Lemon custard dessert was the best ever. We'll be back!
We really enjoy the ambiance and level of energy at ASA. We find the staff, and the management very friendly and always run into friends and associates during our visit to ASA. Of course, the food is always amazing.
Excellent food, fun and lively ambiance, and a great place to start the weekend with some drinks
Refreshingly different menu executed exquisitely. Cheerful and knowledgeable staff. This is my favorite restaurant in Los Altos right now. There are so many dishes I can't wait to try next time.
Hard to choose which aspect of dining here so special. Is it the beautifully prepared food that is fresh, interesting and full of flavor? Or no, maybe it is the delightfully warm, knowledgeable and attentive staff. From the very generous welcome when you first set foot in the door to the ongoing friendly and highly professional service from every person on staff; the whole experience is such a joy. Highly recommend for a night with friends, a long date, family gathering. Actually, can’t think of any reason NOT to go. Special shout out to Andrew the owner who makes you feel like he invited you personally and to fun and attentive Kevin who knew every single ingredient.
