Service was OK. Food is really good!! We will return.
Lovely evening , with attentive service and really delicious food.
Beautiful restaurant with impeccable service. Every morsel of food was delicious!
Food was very tasty, both vegans and carnivores agreed.
Delicious vegan food! The impossible sausage & peppers pizza was our favorite. The sausage was spicy and so delicious with the nut based mozzarella!! I’ll definitely tell my friends and go back!!
Great when going to the symphony. Great cocktails. Not a fan of the high top tables.
Delicious vegan Italian! Nice ambiance, space too
Was looking forward to this meal and it met all expectations. I have been taking the Food Future Institute courses online learning to create dishes like these from Mathew Kinney's school. So appreciate being able to eat plant based meals that are exceptional.
So nice to have a plant based Italian dining option. We had a great meal last night- sat outdoors. The gluten free sausage pizza was great though very very spicy- could have been toned down just a bit. The mozzarella sticks were also nice- light and crunchy though more like ricotta - not stretchy like mozzarella, but very good. Ceasar salad was great. Portions were big.
Proximity to Davies is wonderful. Service is spotty. The food is just ok. Could use fresh roasted artichoke in the salad instead of the canned tasteless presented. A fruit tart for dessert would be welcome.
First time eating here. The service was fantastic from the greeting by the hostess to the servers to the bussers. The food was flavorful, substantial, and delicious. The two of us split the garlic knots, a margherita pizza, the chocolate hazelnut torta, and the spumoni mousse dessert. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. As for the cost, any vegan knows we pay more for well-made food. This restaurant is reasonably priced.
We were on a family vacation to SF and wanted a hot meal after a breezy day and Baia fit the bill!
Overall a very pleasant experience. We had multiple allergy concerns and they were extremely accommodating. The outdoor seating was nice however, the heat lamps were not turned on for us. The food was all very good. We started off with the Fiora de Zucca (fried squash blossoms) which were delicious and by far my favorite dish of the night. The ricotta was outstanding. Next, we got a salad with peas, raddish, lemon vinaigrette and many more fresh, seasonal ingredients. The salad was pretty good however it had too much of the dressing for my liking. Finally, we got the margarita pizza with gluten free crust. Very good gluten free crust and the sauce as well as the mozzarella was outstanding. By far one of the best vegan restaurants i’ve been too and one of the best italian dining experiences!
Delicious! The food was amazing and the wait staff was lovely.
I had the agnolotti, garlic knots and the Negroni. And a bite of my friends artichoke and kohlrabi salad. The garlic knots are heavenly, perfect marriage of olive oil and garlic. The agnolotti was delicious, the sauce was tart and creamy. Peas and pasta cooked well but portion was so tiny it was not satisfying. Cocktail was delicious, though small. Overall, value not amazing but taste is delicious! I would recommend sharing knots and sharing salad and having a pasta for yourself.
The food was AMAZING! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is plant based or not!
Service was good, a bit harried. Possibly understaffed? Kept needing additional silverware that took several attempts. But very nice food.
We had a waiter who failed to get our order in then didn’t get it in on time, had a hard time getting his attention (seemed understaffed) but overall, the level of noise was tough for a conversation.. :-/
The food was very good
It was. Wry cold outside
Fairly slow when we arrived but music on very loud. Mediocre service. Food is overpriced and nothing special. Salads were very good. Tortellini was blah and skimpy. Pizza ok but all good would be better in a good regular Italian place. Room is still gorgeous.
Mozzarella sticks dry with bland marinara. Garlic knots fab. Lasagna was dry. Radiatorre great. Cocktails slow. Looking forward to returning...but will avoid anything "cheese" forward.
Very impressed by the food and great cocktails.
My wife and I are mostly vegan and we love anytime a vegan restaurant opens up, especially one as nice as BAIA - and we are very understanding about Covid challenges and staffing challenges. So, the overall food was excellent - the vegan meatballs with polenta were really good and the wood fired vegetables were even better. Loved the spicy pasta; the Bolognese pasta was okay - the fresh pasta itself was really good but the sauce was quite bland. On the service side, we had some serious gaps - started out okay and the busboys were really good - but our waiter forgot about us - outside heater took a couple times to turn on, appetizers came out timely but then it took nearly an hour for our main course to come out - had to ask, watched people who came later than us get served and finally one of the busboys told us the waiter forgot to release the order - there were excuses, no apology, no thank you at the end of the meal - guessing it's an aberration but we were there early and the restaurant was not very crowded - so that is a watch out for us. Saw the whole cauliflower come it for someone else - it looked delicious too.
Went here for my birthday and took my Mom, a pretty amazing vegan cook. We both loved the entire experience. The staff were amazing. Our server was awesome. They need a few more hands on deck, but to be expected after the COVID closure. I'm really excited to see how their menu evolves over time. Our food was excellent, but you can tell they have plenty more tricks up their sleeve. This is officially our new "fancy dinner" spot. Let me give a shout out to our server "Max" for choosing a perfect red for my Mom and convincing me to go with the Prosecco on offer. EASILY the best Prosecco I've ever had. We'll definitely be back again. Often, in fact.
Great vegan fare in a lovely setting. The arancini and desserts were especially good. Be careful parking on the street. Our car window was smashed for a sweatshirt while we ate.
The food was mediocre and the service is just ok.
Fabulous Wait Staff, food out of this world! Thanks so much
Awesome taste to the food. Fingerling potatoes were perfectly cooked, so tasty. Loved our Gluten feee Pizza.
Service very good.
I would suggest an additional choice in salad; and having non alcoholic beer on tap and/or cold bottles of NA beer for us non drinkers it goes well with pizza.
So Grateful to BAIA, thank you for this amazing concept. It’s fulfilling my vegan palate.. I hope your dreams are also fulfilled.
I will be back.
As always - fantastic food and drinks and it's all plant based 🙂
We ordered a salad the order never arrived and then they tried to bring it at the end of the dinner which was super off place. I had to push them to remove the order from our bill..also our food was super late and waitress lied to us saying it will be couple of minutes and another 30 mins had passed..
It was a mess.. also menu is pretty limited and there was nothing that stands out much.
Cocktails and wine were great looks like its a place for drinks mainly and some nibbles.
Food was disappointing to say the least. Overpriced for what you get and not flavorful
This was our second time to Baia. Service had improved with seemingly more workers. The food is delicious and that is why we brought three friends to experience it and they all loved the foot. The spumoni desert is incredible. The only problem is the noise level. On our first trip there were three of us and the person sitting across from us had trouble hearing because of women almost shrieking behind him. Last night, there were 5 of us at a round table upstairs. Again, the noise level made it difficult to hear some voices across the round table. We had to really work on projecting our voices which I realize added to the overall din. However, I do want to reemphasize that the food is so good that my partner and I will definitely go back again, but not in a party of more that 3 or 4.
Amazing!! Went here to celebrate a birthday and everything was beautiful. A little pricey, a little loud, but I can see why! This is a place I want to come to again and again. The food was truly amazing-- I split everything with the person I came with; we ordered two apps, two entrees, and a dessert and I was STUFFED. Do not skip the pasta dishes-- they are the stars!
It's impossible to cook Italian food without cheese and meat, and BAIA proves it. "Cheese" made out of vegetable juice doesn't taste like cheese and isn't cheese. If you like the Impossible Burger, you'll be OK with the meat. If you like or love Vegan food, you'll like this place. Vegetarian is just fine with me, and it translates well to Italian. For the four of us, Vegan just doesn't.
Perfect pre-performance dinner
The Caesar Salad was short on leaves and long on Romaine stems. Our Margarita Pizza had a black char all over the bottom. My $22 glass of Chardonnay was a short pour. On the positive side the interesting decor has remained the same as when Jardiniere occupied the space.
Excellent food, reasonable value for the quality, volume levels are a bit high but if you like that you’ll love this place. Fantastic food and even better if you’re vegan!
New place near SF Symphony and Opera, replacing Jardiniere. Food good and interesting, particularly the Italian vegetable salad (could have used more cheese!). Somewhat limited menu with lighter fare which is perfect before a concert. Prices great! Waiters fairly attentive but seemed a little stressed.
