Wonderful service. Accommodating and generous. Comped an extra dessert in consideration of a delay. Food was beautifully preset during delicious. Great attention safety and an all around great evening.
Completely new take on eggplant parm - the best I have ever had!
You won’t be disappointed!! Food is outstanding. This is our new go to restaurant.
COVID dining is weird. The setup is in the same area where cars pull up to pick up or drop off hotel guests, so the background noise is often an idling car. We came early to avoid the cold of the evening, and as the only diners at the time we opted to play music from a phone to dial up the ambiance a touch, which worked fairly well. But the food was great (the burrata was too good to have just one round), as were the drinks, so we greatly enjoyed it despite the unusual setting.
Hi Julie, We certainly agree that COVID dining is weird. We know the limitations within our outdoor courtyard space and are glad you were able to make the best of it with a little extra ambience. Thank you for the kind words on the meal and service. Best, Amanda M General Manager
Love the food !
Bambara is now doing a pop up in its restaurant called Capalbos and it is absolutely delicious! My party and I didn’t have one complaint and we all would highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be going back again real soon!!
So appreciated! Thanks for the great review. Cant wait to see you again- Chef Baz
Best Italian that I have ever had. Great service, more people need to know about this great spot.
Wow what and incredible review! We are so grateful. Hope to see you again soon! -Chef Baz
It was cool to see a pop up concept at Bambara. I think that adds a fun element to an established restaurant. The ribs were out of this world! And the RBG inspired cocktails.
My family and I loved this place. The food was excellent! The pork chop was insanely good, with everything else closely behind it! For those concerned about covid exposure, they were extra diligent with plenty of well spaced seating both inside and outside. We will be back!
Annuversary
Good food, well spaced tables, friendly service, recommended.
The bread and honey butter was amazing. Ended up ordering 2
Loved the abbreviated menu. Loved the hummus. Loved eating outside.
Bambara’s staff took great care to provide a safe outdoor dining experience during COVID - the tables were far apart, they limited the number people, and provided a QR code at the table so all ordering could be done virtually if desired (they also had a full service option). As always, the food and drinks were really well done and delicious. I was happy to be back at this favorite neighborhood spot!
Overall very good value for money - food was great for the price. However the outside tables are in a courtyard at the back where cars come in to the hotel. Sort of felt like you were eating in a garage.
My wife and I were looking for an outdoor eating opportunity for Saturday night dinner. We were referred to Bambara by our gourmand and exquisitely tasteful grandson. We implicitly trust his food sensibilities, so off we went after making a reservation, never expecting the gustatory celebration that was to follow.
It was a great surprise to experience one of the best meals we have dined on here in our fair city. And the truly remarkable fact is that for whatever the reason it was one of the most reasonably priced meals we have experienced in Boston - and we dine out not infrequently. We echo Ted Weesner's 2017 Boston Globe review: our dining experience was at the hands of a master chef.
We started with one of the real standouts in the white wine category, a glass of J. Lohr Chardonnay, a fine, well-oaked yet buttery selection chilled to perfection. This was followed by the Choereg bread loaf with honey butter, a sophisticated take on a traditional Armenian Easter bread. Soft, succulent, delightful.
We eschewed any further appetizer distractions and went right to the main courses - an order of the House made Fusilli and the Kutobuta Pork Chop. The pesto and pecorino infused fusilli with snap peas and asparagus was zesty, rich, and complex, and completely enjoyable. The pork chop was thoughtfully complemented to the rich yet not overbearing spicing of the pork.
The sole desert offering, the apricot tart, needed no competition. It was perhaps the best part of the meal. Of course I have a serious sweet tooth, so from that standpoint I am biased.
While we hate like hell to give away our secrets, it is one we simply could not keep to ourselves. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did...we'll be back.
Very good food and quick, friendly service. Nice ambiance too!
I have a picky 9 Year old eater who glanced at the child menu and took my menu from me. She absolutely loved the hanger steak which was made perfectly medium rare to her liking. The roasted broccolini was just like it would have been served at home as well.
The food was out of this world! Service was quick and friendly, less crowded than expected which meant we received a lot of attention. Would dine again.
Excellent scallop entree and lovely drink that had Cuban in the name. Great service. Would definitely go again!
Based on Internet reviews we expected better. The menu we were offered did not correspond at all to any of the online menus. We ordered a breakfast taco and it was relatively tasteless. It took 20 minutes for us to get our coffee and the appetizer that I ordered of pumpkin bread came out with the meal. Very disappointing. We will not be going back.
Great place for brunch, but I’m guessing any meal here is good based on my brunch experience. Had the chorizo tacos which were amazing and just enough portion wise.
Great place for a work lunch. Good selection, expedited service if needed but also not rushed if business discussion requires.
I've been to Bambara many times however they need to upgrade the table height and seating in the booths.
All the food we got was delicous, they even made some changes for us to get what we wanted. Highly recommend you will love it!!!
Received a warm welcome on New Year's Eve. The menu was great and
provided a variety of choices for my vegan friends!! We were sat at a lovely
table towards the back so we could hear one another!! Always a plus. The
waiter was excellent! Attentive and knowledgeable.
Great food and service
Food was good, just pricey! Would go back if we were staying at the hotel or convenient to our plans.
Excellent hotel restaurant, less costly than many restaurants in the area. The only negative is the less than exciting interior.
Excellent and interesting Mediterranean flavors in every dish
Great brunch! Food was delicious! Ricotta pancakes were outstanding! Great service and quiet atmosphere!!
I went there for a little birthday celebration. The dishes were great all across the table and we left satisfied. Just wish server were around more often for orders.
We must have been there on an off night. Our order was messed up from the get go; food we did not order kept being delivered; we said we did not order it, and were told we did... and our dinners arrived after an hour and a quarter, and one at a time. Our waiter came and asked how everything was, with one member of our party with no dinner in front f her, so... not so great was my answer. Everything was tasty, but really, the entire service was disoriented and disorienting, conversations kept being disrupted to correct the order, repeat ourselves, ask for the food we did order. Everyone in our party was in a go with the flow place, so we were OK, but really, it was not the relaxing celebratory dinner we were anticipating. Good food and vibe, but service... uh, no.
Bamabara is a lovely restaurant in the Kimpton hotel Cambridgeside. Very nice severs. Ate lunch and dinner here, very tasty.
The duck confit hash was good for brunch, but they close early at 2pm and have no espresso :(
Service was attentive and food was delicious. Too expensive for everyday lunch but it was a nice place for a celebratory lunch with co-workers.
We met out-of-town friends here for dinner because they were staying in the hotel. We were very pleasantly surprised by the food. It was excellent. Restaurant was very quiet, amd it was a perfect place to share a meal and talk.
We had a quick bite before heading out to a concert in Boston. The food here is really nice. They change the menu seasonally but some of the regular items stay. The chef also is really good about accommodating food sensitivities.
Great little find. I have been here few times now. I especially love their breakfast. My only wish that menu would have slightly larger selection.
Host wasnt quick. Food was cold. No one wanted to serve us. Took multiple times asking different ppl to attend to our needs. Not impressed.
