The food was phenomenal and our server, Sammie, was fantastic. Definitely coming back!
Fun restaurant with a good brunch menu. Got very busy for brunch, loud music and party atmosphere. Food was good but service was not good quality. Slow, lack of attention to detail, mistakes with orders that were not promptly corrected or reimbursed for wait time and inconvenience.
Our waitress was wonderful! We came for a small baby shower for a coworker, and they brought us an appetizer and celebratory dessert on the house. She also was great about reminding us of the happy hour specials, and made sure to take a last round of drink orders before happy hour ended.
This was my first time dining at Barcocina, and although we ordered from the restaurant week menu. I felt like the portions were great. It was a party of three and we were able to share the dishes while still having enough to enjoy for ourselves. I will be coming back throughout the year. I really enjoyed the experience.
Great food! Presentation was perfect. Service was spot on!
Great tacos and food with good restaurant week deal
Had a reservation at 8. Waited 25 minutes just to have to ask the host again when our table would be ready. She forgot about us and ended up being seated 35 minutes after my reservation time. Was sat in the bar area where it was so loud you had to scream to hear your own party. Server was slow but friendly- she seemed to be the only server for the bar area on a busy Saturday. Food was decent but I won’t be returning.
Waiting for the entire party to arrive before being seated is very restricting
We had a great time and the food was delicious!
We waited over 30 minutes for our table. The hostess was not the friendliness. Our server was great, just a little slow. Food is always amazing.
The food is expensive and not very good. The drinks are expensive and small. The waitress was nice but seemed like she was covering way to big of an area. The food runners were a-holes. Do not recommend.
It was our first time here & it was amazing! Katie was fantastc!!
We had a reservation, but it still took a while to get seated. Our food came out pretty quickly, but it seemed like everything was pre-made and just waiting for someone to order it.
I had eaten at the Barcocina in Baltimore, so I was hoping the experience would be as good as that, but both my fiancé and myself were a little disappointed.
Great environment. Overall good menu.
Great dining experience! The bottomless brunch is great and the food comes out quick and is delicious. I always recommend this place
The food was good, service was slow, however. We waited 25 minutes after being sat at a table to be approached by a server. We saw other tables wait similar amounts of time and proceed to leave because of the wait times. Once we ordered, our food came out very quickly and was good.
Waitress did not come over often. Had to call her over when needing assistance.
Our overall experience was just mediocre. We visited barcocina for restaurant week. We were told by the server that the policy of the restaurant was that If one person at the table wanted to participate in restaurant week, then the entire table would have to order off that menu, and no one would be allowed to order a la carte. This is strange to me as restaurant week is usually an incredible value, why wouldn’t they want to make more money off of us? This really limited the options for my friend, and tainted the experience.
When we were ordering cocktails, my husband and I were ordering a pitcher for the table, and the server didn’t inform us that there were restrictions with the pitcher selection until we had ordered 3 separate times. It was ridiculous.
Two entrees came out 15 minutes after the first two entrees arrived. Needless to say, the first two entrees were cold by the time we all had plates in front of us.
Nothing was polished. The food was good, but that’s expected when you go out. This was a disappointing experience, and one that we were initially very excited for.
Came here for our anniversary. Our server, Lauren, was awesome. The food was great and they had a surprise dish for us to help celebrate. Can’t thank them enough for the awesome experience.
I enjoyed the food at Barcocina. We considered doing the buffet and I’m glad we didn’t. Honestly the price they were asking for the buffet really doesn’t seem worth it. The portion sizes off the regular menu are large and 3x cheaper than the buffet. The noise level was pretty high but overall we enjoyed this restaurant.
This was a great experience! I would definitely recommend this place!
It was good
Wish they looked at our notes in the reservation. We asked for an igloo and there were two open when we got there but they wouldn't seat us there. Food and service were good though
Everything we had was amazing. Guac, empanadas, hanger steak and three types of tacos (chicken tinga, Korean short rib and brisket). Highly recommend!
Everything was outstanding. Our servers suggestions were spot on. Drinks were refreshing and food was creative and delicious.
Our elderly parents loved it. They wanted to eat in the igloo. Korean tacos were our favorite.
Lots of fun!
It was great! Accidentally came during brunch but was still able to order off the main menu. Food and drinks were wonderful as usual
Well, let's just say that you could find better food at your nearest taco stand. It was mediocre at best, and definitely caters to the more established Lincoln Park crowd.
Also, I made a reservation and the hosts could care less. They rolled their eyes and didn't bother to recognize us. It took us 30 minutes to be seated, and I'm still unsure why we didn't leave.
That's a big thumbs down for me 👎🏾
They sat us 45 minutes late and didn’t even think to bring us any free drinks or food to compensate for lost time. Other than that, was a good experience
Great place to go with friends and decorated super cute for the holidays!
Angelica is amazing! This is the first time I have been to this restaurant and my sister and I sat at the bar, had a few different drinks, tried multiple items and we were so well taken care of by Angelica. She is the BEST and made several recommendations as she knew we hadn't been there. The Tuna Poke Tacos are AMAZING!!
celebrated asking my sister to be my MOH and the staff made it so special.
Service was very slow and it took an hour for some members of my party to get their orders. The restaurant also had very loud music playing which made it very hard to hear. I would discourage folks from going there.
Food was great! We had reservations and it took 15 minutes past our reservation to get seated, and it took awhile to get our drinks. Other than that, the guacamole and tacos were delicious! I would go again!
Quickly becoming my go to Hotspot.
The server kinda forgot about us after we ordered drinks and never came back to get food order!
Always a favorite in Lakeview! I teach right next to the restaurant at CorePower and this place is so great for either a quick Sangria Roja or a long dinner. Definitely take advantage of their large patio! Even in cooler temps, the heat lamps are perfect to enjoy tacos and their Truffle Guacamole. Every server has been a total gem! Recommend this restaurant to anyone--but don't forget to make a reservation if you're going in on a weekend evening. Otherwise, posting up at their huge wrap-around bar is a great alternative to snack and drink!
I made a reservation for my extended family of 9 adults for a late brunch on a Saturday. Everyone was in town for a wedding and we wanted an easy place for lunch and drinks before we had to go back and get ready. We show up on time and you could hear the music and bass pumping out of the restaurant more than a block away. I asked the hostess to be seated outside because we didn’t want to shout at each other during the meal. We get seated outside and 20 minutes later and two trips back to the hostess stand, no one has come outside to take our order, drinks or food. Two other tables around us got drinks and food and one was moved inside because it had started to sprinkle.
After threatening to leave, they sent someone out who was actually really great. The manager offered one free guacamole for the table of 9 and that’s about it. One of our food orders came out 10 minutes after everyone else’s and we had to go back inside to get our credit cards ran for our checks because it had taken so long and we had to get back to the loop for the wedding.
I get that it was a day-drinking college-ish brunch and we were clearly in the wrong spot. However, there’s no excuse for the continued awful service. If you’re understaffed, say so and rectify it. The food was outstanding and our server Melissa was great, but we will not be back, ever.
Everything was good, but the waitress was VERY agressive.
