Great food and service. Loud, but the Niners were playing a playoff game...
Great spot to eat after our show at the Curran Theater!
The waiter made this a hard place to like. Avoided eye contact when we were looking for him and told us to hold on when wanting to get more drinks. The food was great but definitely need to hire more people.
Staff was friendly; however, it was very noisy for those mature people who are hard of hearing as well as seeing. I had a hard time seeing the menu. I had to tilt the menu toward the very small dim lit votive candle and I had to tell the server that we would like to order dessert. Other than that we really enjoyed the meal and service. We will definitely return back if we are staying at the Hotel Nikko.
BH was convenient to Curran theatre; however, they try to seat too many at the high tables. We were bumping into other customers on either side of us. When asked to be moved, they stated they had other reservations and could not move us. The service seemed rushed and we felt pushed to order quickly. The front part of the restaurant is charming, not the back. The Beyond Meat Burger was yummy.
Horrible service with average at best food
Happy hour menu pretty solid if you’re only eating lightly. Don’t expect to make a full meal just from HH, and you’ll be just fine. Good house brews on tap
Great quick meal after a long flight. The crew was hungry and everyone found something to eat and overall everyone enjoyed their meal. The price was more than expected for 4 soft drinks, a Mac and Cheese app (definitely high marks) 2 burgers, a chesesteak sandwich and a salad
We visited on Christmas evening. The atmosphere was fun & vibrant. The staff was very friendly & the food was delish! Try the fried pickles for sure!
We were looking for a place to eat on Christmas Day and Bartlett was one of a few restaurants that were open. They were very busy but our server was great, we didn’t feel rushed and she was very attentive and friendly.
The food was good. The steak salad was yummy. The salmon with pearl barley was a little under seasoned. Waitstaff was very kind. It read Christmas and I was convinced by a friend to choose Bartlett Hall over a different restaurant with the prefix menu. I had hoped to be seated at a low top table. They chose to put us at a hightop. It’s not a big deal but it is a preference and I had asked for it on the reservation.
We always appreciate when restaurants are open during the holidays, especially if we are travelling. We were looking for an everyday place that would be lively, good food, good drink, and good cheer—Bartlett Hall delivered on all points. It was bustling—and the entire staff bustled around efficiently and effectively. The hostess and our waiter were exceptional—welcoming and taking good care of us. Yes, dining in San Francisco is expensive. Given this consideration, I would say this is a good value.
Second time to Bartlett Hall as it's on A.C.T.'s list of dining partners. Visited post-"Christmas Carol" for a late lunch. I was seated right away, even though I arrived early and had an unscheduled dining companion in tow, so that was much appreciated.
Both my friend and I enjoyed our food choices (fish&chips and salmon respectively)...I would rate this establishment's food as good, basic, non-foodie-level options. Although I've seen the service criticized on this site, our server was prompt and friendly and gladly brought my friend a wine taste to try before she ordered.
And the 20 percent discount for A.C.T. ticket holders is very helpful.
Food was awful and too pricey for what we got. Hugely disappointed by this restaurant- we have 4 meals and all were fair. Don’t bother
The only reason this place survives is its location, location, location. Definitely not a place you go to for good food.
Service was super bad.... even ordered early ... might have been the kitchen's fault ... nonetheless ... it was not a good experience.
We had dinner here during the break between part one and two of Harry Potter. The burgers were amazing! Service great
Server was inattentive and it was not even busy
Great hotspot! Needed a reservation during intermission at the Curran, which we had.
I have a shellfish allergy and they were very thoughtful on what I could eat. The waitress was great. And the beers were some of the best I’ve had. Order the lava cake!
Our server was so awesome! She was slammed with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play opening day crowd and still was able to get us our food on time and in a friendly manner!
Food was OK, a bit oily, first server wasn’t the nicest, 2nd server was better
It’s was a nice setting and food wasn’t bad. The service unfortunately was not the best that day. It seemed as if they were forced to work.
Food was good, however the music is very loud and the service was not good. When the wait staff came to take our order we said we needed another minute to decide if we wanted appetizers. We were not approached again for another 10 minutes. Food was delivered quickly, however we were more than halfway through the entree (yes , we did get an appetizer) before the wait staff checked to see if we needed anything or if our meal was good. After stating we needed refills, the wait staff took another 5 minutes to get them. When we asked for our check, we received the wrong one initially and then had to wait again for the wait staff to return. Even though the food was good, we would not go back.
Hostess was unorganized and rude. Server was rushed and snapped answers when asked questions. The happy hour portions were not a deal at all - paid $1.75 per wing... and they call that happy hour!
Would not recommend.
I had indicated in my reservation of the special occasion I even reminded the person at the check in, nothing was mentioned nor brought to our table. We felt rushed during our meal, i had mentioned I wanted my salad brought out with appetizer it was not it was brought out after my entree, not sure the point of this. The food was mediocre, fish and chips lacked flavor. The service was mediocre and there was a loud group near by some of the language used was not appropriate for my children. The occasion we were celebrating was never acknowledged overall a disappointing experience.
Great food and selection of craft beers. Good service and value for money. A great place to watch sports.
Very poor service and the food was not good. The calamari was undercooked!!
Very good bar food, nice old fashioned ambiance, but very noisy!
Food was good, cool place near the Curran Theatre. Service was atrocious, it was as if we were annoying our server when we wanted to order, needed a refill of water (server took away our bottle of water after we said we just wanted water), and even when I asked for the check, it seemed like it was a HUGE inconvenience.
What a great place! It's a real gem - you have to try it.
Met with a group of friends, our server Martha patient and understanding but other servers rude& made ordering drinks difficult, especially at bar. Good atmosphere but will consider a return.
Good food for a light bite to eat. Service was fair at best. Waitress was a bit miserable and not attentive.
This was just too expensive for what you get, food was meh, servers were overworked and service was slow.
This is a GREAT spot to go before shows in the theater district of San Francisco - especially if you are with a group. Great sharable food, big tables, responsive staff. Will keep this as a pre-show spot.
Fantastic place. would and will go there again. friendly atmosphere
It was a great atmosphere, great food and super fast service!
Went there for a quick dinner and was not disappointed. Food was well prepared, beer excellent. One less star for the noise.
Enjoyed it. Kind of captures the atmosphere of Union Oyster House in Boston, oldest pub in U.S. allegedly. Service was very attentive. Well positioned big screen TVs: Warriors game was on, and they were winning.
