Great place! A little on the loud side and not amazing when it comes to beverage selection. But food was great.
A wonderful experience. We are planning a return trip with a few other friends in order to try EVERYTHING on the menu! The mussels and the luglug noodles were my favorites. My partner enjoyed the pork belly. The staff even offered us a sweet treat after dinner since we were celebrating a birthday.
Such a neighborhood gem. Excellent food, attentive service and I'm just happy to see that the place continues to be packed.
Cute place with outdoor seating. Despite having just a few tables, the noise level made it difficult to have a conversation. It’s quieter outside, except for the train and the el...Very good service. They encouraged ordering two plates per person which would have been way too much food. The food was good, not exceptional. Appreciated that it was byob.
Great find, pleasant neighborhood place. Food is of great quality.
Service was very rushed. Server dropped the check while we were still eating the last dishes without asking for dessert. Food served lukewarm/cold. The only dish served hot was the mussels, but there were several unopened mussels. Underwhelming experience overall.
Great food, knowledgeable staff. BYOB. Must get the Oxtail!
A hidden gem, for sure. The lumpia Shanghai and croqueta tots are tasty little bites and the luglug noodles are a delicious introduction to Filipino fare if you’re not already familiar. And BYOB! Will definitely be back.
I've been here 3 times in the past two months and can't get enough. The service is always on point and the staff know how to pace and pair the dishes you order for optimal sharing. Everyone here is so nice and we were even lucky enough to meet one of the owners last weekend during our visit!
We love everything on the menu, but if I had to recommend just two dishes, please get the pancit noodles and the camarones!! Can't wait to get back here!
Sooo good. Saw the chef on beat Bobby flay. As someone who's wife is Filipino this place is legit.
Great cuisine mash up, interesting flavors and nice tight ambience.
Food was great but room is tiny and really loud. We couldn’t hear each other talk.
Delicious Filipino/Cuban food. Cute place and lovely staff. You must try the flan. It is life giving.
Delicious! Would recommend a reservation as it is a small venue but the food is amazing plus BYOB can't beat that!
Delicious food and great ambiance - BYOB - the wings were absolutely delicious, and the croquette tots were amazing. 10/10 would recommend - but make reservations! The restaurant is definitely on the small side.
It was hot. But food and service were great
Love the Cuban Filipino clash/combinations. Very creative!
It was very ok
Small portions for over priced, under flavored food. Could barely hear my friend. I'd say try it at least once to determine for yourself, but I'm for sure not a fan.
I was really excited to try this place as I've seen the head chef on Food Network, and the pictures look amazing. Unfortunately, this was the best part of my visit. Service was extremely slow as they were talking among each other instead of paying attention to the tables. Food was okay, but portions were not worth the price.
The food was good. Not sure it quite lived up to the smells when the train stops at the Montrose stop. The restaurant is really small and voices carry. It is really loud inside. A friend sitting across the table had a hard time hearing us.
Nice ambiance. We loved that it was byob. However, in our opinion, food was a bit lacking flavors, and overall heavier than what we prefer. Majority of dishes are either from a pork or chicken. The seafood pasta was tasty, but it has so much oil that it killed the taste.
This is a must go to restaurant: brought friends that never had Philipino / Cuban food: they loved it: highly recommend lumpia Shanghai, the beef bistek, short ribs , el Cubano sandwich & save room for dessert: the ube sundae was fabulous: Jae was extremely helpful with ordering & service was also superb
Really refreshing food, friendly staff, and most importantly, good food! High recommend the ube sundae which exceeded my expectations.
Food is very delicious. We loved it!
Wanted to like Bayan Ko so much more than I did. Everything was good, not great. Definitely seemed to lean more Filipino than Cuban. It didn’t stand out enough that when I crave the type of food they make I would go back to them over say Andy’s Thai Kitchen or Cuba 312
So glad we finally got in! Totally lived up to everything- my only negative was it was SO loud at some points we couldn't hear each other across the table, and because it's such a hopping place, we felt rushed to finish our dessert and wine and give up our table. Would have stayed longer but folks were waiting right behind us. Curse of a small, popular place. Will definitely be back.
Definitely check Bayan Ko out soon. The food was great, servers were prompt and knowledgeable, and it was busy without seeming busy.
We loved this restaurant! It’s cozy and turns out terrific food.
Expected much more after having tastes their food during last year's kultura fest.
service was little rushed. plate was cleared and we were asked if we wanted dessert while my wife was still eating.
Could have done without the kind of bland oxtail otherwise great food!
One of my favorite places to eat! Highly recommend. Eating here is like walking into a friends home. Incredibly friendly , amazing food and service.
It was awesome. It’s a small location, but the food and service make everything amazing!
Awesome food and service. Especially loved the delicious smoked ham croquettes and the mussels!
Ecellent food and service. My friend is Filipino and I am Cuban. We rated the different dishes as authentic and delicious. It is conversationally challenged!
Excited to have this true gem in the neighborhood. Great service, delicious food, cool decor. For a small space it can get loud and I think the noise level is high because everyone is squealing with delight after savoring each bite.
We had an amazing evening at Bayan Ko! Alex took wonderful care of us!
The place was too loud, the food (out of the three dishes we ordered) was just okay because the last dish was decent, not too salty and it actually looked good.
Incredible food and amazing service!
