We had a lovely evening the food was great plus a decent pint as well (Butscombe). The table was nicely decorated and overall we thought it good value. Will be visiting again soon.
I had lasagne. It was tasty, but far too oily. My husband went for fish, and he was happy with the meal. The staff was very friendly.
A good variety of food including a very good carvery. Staff friendly and cheerful. The only more negative was that the tables were quite close together. However overall a very good meal which was value for money.
We have been before with friends and enjoyed our meal, and the carvery was very good value for money. This occasion we were very disappointed. We booked in advance for 4 people but the table given to us was right in the bar area and it was very busy and so noisy we couldn’t communicate with our friends who had come a good distance, the whole purpose of our meal!! we booked for 12.00 on Friday, maybe not the best day. This had to be the worst table in the place.
great food , great service , Bar staff friendly and chatty
The young staff were being trained and didn’t know everything that was available but everyone was very friendly, and confusion soon sorted out.
Super food, excellent service, highly recommended,
Lovely meal out with my Mum for her birthday. Slight unfortunate imcident with the soup being cold but apart from that the meal was lovely. The staff couldn't do enough and corrected the problem straight away.
Delicious & beautifully cooked food & excellent service
Absolutely fantastic carvery. Great food and great price. Staff all friendly, service great.
Have been coming for a long time and always been so pleased but this time after giving two equine trainers from America this glowing report we were very disappointed not with the staff serving us but the fact that one of us ( one of the Americans) had too wait over half an hour for their order we’d all finished ours by the time he got his . The food was as usual very good but somehow we think they missed his order and we had to complain three times before he finally received it . Never ever had that before so not sure why but we will still go back , we also live in Bristol which I hope will tell people we do really like it here.
Went with children on steak night Monday , fantastic steaks perfectly cooked , great value and great service and staff .
Food was acceptable but the service let them down. The staff were pleasant enough but very slow on taking our order, we had to ask for kids menus (we had our 9&7 year olds with us). When our food eventually did arrive almost an hour later we were offered condiments, we asked for ketchup and English mustard, they never came, I had to leave the table and find the staff member who assumed we had them! We weren’t offered any more drinks other than our initial ones as we sat down (before being given a menu) We promptly left after dinner and stopped on the way home to pick up dessert as we didn’t want to stay there any longer. A shame as it was our 20th anniversary meal.
Steak was tough. Pork was drowned in sauce. Pasta was over cooked and drowned in sauce. Burger was not 100% beef, tasted like sausage meat.
Basic pub fare at a reasonable price . It was OK. Fairly noisy with young children and next to a railway line. Pleasant staff and fairly quick service. It is what it is.
First time I have eaten there even though it’s just a few minutes away from where I live. I have to say that I am extremely impressed with The Beambridge. The staff are friendly and capable and the Chef behind the carvery positively encouraged me to try several slices of beef AND pork! The vegetable selection was the best I have ever seen. Absolutely spoilt for choice and all were delicious. It will now be my first choice for eating out.
Lunchtime service was efficient and friendly and food very good.
Very friendly staff, good service, good food. What more could you want from a pub.?
Outstanding service and food as always a good range of choices and great value for money
Excellent Sunday Carvery, liked the extensive choice of vegetables and the choice of dinner size is extremely helpful for old and young diners. Wonderful puddings (not desserts !) pleasant change in title and again loved the variety on offer and at such good prices too. Having come down from Sussex the value for our money was very good, thank you. The Jazz session in the afternoon was a nice surprise, sadly we couldn't stay this time.
Great evening of curry and comedy. Definitely go again. Only comment would be that the seats in the restaurant could do with a clean.
The sea bass was very good but the Gammons were over cooked rubbery and salty the chips must have been re heated and were not very good. The chicken was ok but a bit dry and not a lot of taste to the veg.
The one lady that was waiting did her best but service was a bit slow (good job it wasn't busy) the manager I think must have had a bad day as he didn't have a very good attitude.
We had booked a table in advance. The waiting staff were very attentive. Food presentation excellent. The ambience was good and the facilities were of a high standard. Soft music in background that evening. Thank you for making a young lady very happy for birthday treat!!
Went there on the Friday as closest eatery to where staying... Food selection average pub grub had bbq chicken which looked like been zapped in microwave hubbies fish n chips better. Returned on the Sunday for advertised caverey. Selection 3 meats generous portion help yourselves to large selection veggies which were a little over cooked hence upset tums on Monday! Went to the worlds end on the Saturday a lot better meal and friendlier.
Had a Sunday carvery. It was excellent, food was well presented and fresh fresh. Staff extremely efficient and polite. Service very good given it was very busy! Would definitely recommend trying it.
Sadly the food was tasteless and the portion of meat size was unsatisfactory; we were a party of 9 but we were seated at a long table, whereas in the past we were seated at a round table.
This is our third time to the Beambridge but sadly it is likely to be our last.
The waiting staff were very efficient and pleasant and we have no complaints there.
A lovely family meal and thoroughly enjoyed by all. The only criticism was the fact that you did not sort out the booking at all well. I made it on line and then had to change the time. The e-mails I received confirmed all was fine but on arrival no table was allocated because you worked on the original time and assumed it was a no show . However the staff were able to sort it out (thank you) and a great meal was had by all.
Excellent meal on Fathers Day. Delicious food and good service.
This was our first visit to the Beambridge Inn and I am pleased to say that we were well satisfied. The service was good, staff polite and the food was of a good standard. We would certainly recommend others to visit, but booking on Sundays anyway is a must. We had the carvery and the fact that there was 3 choices of plate size was excellent. Not found this anywhere else in the area. We are likely to return for lunch sometime during a weekday.
We placed our food order and waited. People arriving long after us received their orders. We had to complain twice before our food arrived and then it was most disappointing. My steak was very tough and difficult to cut. We would not wish to return.
Food a little average and served a bit cold. Service okay although a little casual without too much attention to detail or smiles.
Always very good and attentive service here; staff pleasant and welcoming and they make an effort to please, for example completing with food requests that are not on the set menu; providing cushions for elderly customers etc. Food is average pub grub, nothing fancy but perfectly ok.
We booked using the new online option which was really quick and easy, I'd definitely book using this facility again
We chose the carvery, although experience has shown us when eating elsewhere that often this isn't advisable when eating late as it's been on display for a while, our booking was for 1.45 and when we arrived it all looked fresh and inviting and there was a good amount of choice of vegetable.
I really like the options of three plate sizes, as a small plate is plenty enough for me.
The beef and turkey were cooked well, although the beef wasn't as tasty as I'd had the previous week at another restaurant, perhaps well aged meat really does make the difference. Also the cauliflower was served in white sauce, I assume as there was no cheese flavour to taste, which was a shame.
I really like to have a choice of vegetables and there was a really good selection available which was nice .
Unusually we also chose a sweet, which was a rocky road dessert with ice cream and a fruit crumble with custard. Being picky, I didn't eat the ice cream as I prefer a Cornish style vanilla ice cream and it was quite bland and tasteless, cream would probably have been a better choice. The crumble went down very well with the only criticism being that he would have preferred a thicker crumble mixture which was a bit sparse, although the plate was cleared!
We would return again and try a choice from the set menu next time, and we would recommend this restaurant to others.
Constructive feedback is always welcome as it ensures that we review what we are doing and whether it is what the customer is looking for. The cauli should have been in a cheese sauce, so will address this and I have discussed your comment about the crumble.Whilst not Cornish ice cream, we actually use Yarde Farm, from Plymouth and cannot recall receiving negative feedback on this previously, but will monitor.I am pleased that in the main you enjoyed the visit and hope to see you again soon.
I haven't been to the Beambridge Inn for about 2/3 years when I came with friends mid week and we had the carvery. At the time, not wildly impressed by it but this time, what a change! As it was a Sunday on a Bank Holiday I thought our chances of getting a table might be difficult but it wasn't. I thought the idea of having a small medium and large portion plate was a very good idea to account for peoples appetite levels. We chose the medium size. The selection of meat was pork beef and turkey with a good mix of vegetables. It really was very good and I would recommend it. I would like to go there again, perhaps mid week and would hope the carvery is open and the standard is as high. They also have a "normal" menu if you don't want to have the carvery. The staff were friendly and efficient.
Thank you for your feedback following your recent visit. I am obviously delighted that we have left a more positive impression than a few years ago. We are continually looking at opportunities to improve and your review ensures that we continue to maintain this focus. I do hope that you visit again very soon.
We had the carvery. At £9.50 it was good value and everything was cooked well. The pub was packed and service was fast and friendly. Good atmosphere, good experience.
Thank you for your lovely review. Hope to see you again soon.
