Beatrix - Oak Brook
Valerie was a great waitress. Thought it was odd that the wait staff is not allowed to greet you with their name. A good dining experience includes a personal experience with your wait staff in my opinion. I’m glad she shared her name when we asked. She was very personable, attentive, and fun to have at our table.
Our reservation was for 11:15 and we had to wait 25 minutes and 2 of the people are pregnant and had to stand while we waited for our table. Also, all the food was cold. Terrible place. Never going back.
Felt sorry for staff, they had a lot of tables to cover and were extremely busy. They were very professional and helpful, but you don't usually see waitstaff having to clear tables as well as serving and taking orders. The noise level was unacceptable.
Servings are extremely small for the high price. Had a reservation yet hostesses seemed confused and lacked experience. Service was poor and slow. Went for brunch and server failed to tell us that they have a breakfast buffet and it wasn't until after we ordered from the menu that we noticed people walking back and forth with food in their hand, when I asked our server she's like oh yeah we're known for our weekend breakfast buffet.
Great experience. We sat outside. Wonderful day. Thanks you all for letting us linger and catch up - the three of us have not seen each other since last August.
Very accommodating and they took care of our large party. Food was great! Love their orange juice too. Definitely try the Bloody Mary! It was very hard to hear others in our party. Seems that the dining space is louder than the couch area in the front. Overall great experience and will be back.
Great experience overall. Server was very helpful and well paced. Will be going back soon!
I have been here for brunch before and the food is delicious and fresh. Interesting menu that can appeal to anyone- I don’t eat meat and they had a lot of options for me as a vegetarian! I can still eat healthy there without compromising taste, which I appreciate. The food is excellent but the service could have been a little better. I think our waitress was new so I understood. It took a little while to get our water at first (they bring a pitcher of water for the table which is nice, just took longer than expected after we first sat down). Also, LOVE the lounge/bar area with the couches and bakery section. It’s a fun place to eat AND hang out!
The decor is beautiful. However, the food I've ordered on two occasions is a bit underwhelming with the exception of the brussel sprouts, lemon tofu and desserts.
Excellent food with ample portions and outstanding service. We will definitely recommend and return!
The new Oak Brook restaurant is very nice looking and good ambiance. Service is below expectations as the server was unaware of the menu items. Seems the management has many restrictions and making special requests are challenging; even getting a scoop of ice-cream needs approval from a manager as it is not on the menu. Also, making any change to a menu item can be difficult.
Unfortunately, the food leaves a lot to be desired. The salmon I had was over cooked and very dry. The halibut ordered by a couple of my guests was a tiny portion and thin, more like a flounder and had no taste.
Overall, we were unimpressed with this restaurant and will not return.
Service is great. The food is great too but they have a very limited menu (for lunch) Not much to chose from, that was disappointing for me.
The food was not good. I had the “special” ravioli and it was tasteless and gross. My husband had chicken and it was tasteless and very average.
Joanna was fabulous and my guest and I had a great time. The beet salad was outstanding, chicken meatballs were incredible and the Burrata was good as well. White ginger sangria was delightful. Cannot wait to go back!
The food and service is great. I love that they have Vegan options.
It took 15 minutes to be seated even with a reservation. Took another almost 10 minutes for our server to get our drink order.
My wife loved! That means everything to me. Music is still awesome. A bit loud (conversation that is). Definitely a hot spot for women. Some men. Very unique place. I highly recommend it!
I would however the server was no where to be found. ! also the power went out and no one approached us to offer a explanation !! Food is excellent !!!! I
The service was a little slow, the waitress forgot about our appetizer. I didn’t feel as though the restaurant was that crowded either. The food was delicious, but my Brussels sprout leaves came out extremely dry and almost burnt looking. Atmosphere was wonderful though. I’d like to return to try again- especially one of the cocktails!
I found the host staff and seating process poor. I made a reservation for 12:45pm and was told that tables are being cleaned for a table. We waited and there were at least 4 tables available. The host staff said those tables were for wait list and walk ins. So they prioritize the walk ins verse people that make reservations. The host staff turned people away saying it was a 2 hour wait when in fact there were tables. After we got seated the manage said the reservation was for 1pm, so that is why we waited. This was false! Overall food was good but hostess staff a bunch of idiots and robots!
Nice spot for father's day brunch. Had to wait a bit after our reservation to be seated but the service was good and quick and there are options for everyone.
Loved the food and had great service!! Disappointed with table. Even though we had a reservation we made several days in advance we got put at a shared table. Would have preferred our own table or at least the option to not get seated there. Felt like I was practically on top of the stranger next to me And was uncomfortable. Next time I will request to not be at a shared table.
Had reservation, waited 20 minutes to be seated. Sides were forgotten.
LOVE THIS NEW RESTAURANT IN OAKBROOK, HAVE BEEN FOR BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER AND STOPPED IN FOR JUST COFFEE. WOULD LIKE TO SEE ONE OPEN UP IN NORTHERN SUBURANS LIKE LIBERTYVILLE, VERNON HILLS, LINCHOHNSHIRE. MY ONLY REALLY COMPALIN IS HAD THE EGGS AND STEAK 2 X REQUESTED SCAMBLED AND THEY WHER LIKE A OMELET UGH. GREAT RESTAURANT.
Great food and great service!! The special that night was a pistachio crusted salmon that was very good and the wagyu pot roast filet was fabulous. We’ll definitely be back!
I've tried a few things off their brunch menu and could eat the Cauliflower grits and eggs everyday! The egg white and pepper sandwich is also amazing but I dream about the apple pancake. The quality of food and beverage is outstanding.
Friendly server but slow with refills, checking in. Decor is very inviting and comfortable. Salmon was overcooked, kids disliked the chicken tenders (complained of a gritty texture). The gf chocolate cake was very rich and the portion is huge- great to share. The coffee was about as bland as you can get.
Really nice place. Food was very good. The ambiance is lovely. Seated next to a loud baby which wasn’t very enjoyable. Then the parent let the baby out of the high chair and let the baby run around the restaurant. It was awful seeing the servers having to go around this kid. I’d go back but would make sure I wasn’t seated next to anyone with kids.
Great food and chic ambience
I had long been anticipating the opening of Beatrix in Oak Brook. The menu in its other location was intriguing and I waited to dine there to surprise a friend for his birthday with a stellar meal. It didn't happen. The descriptions of the entrees we chose were much more appetizing and appealing on paper than in actuality, although the prime burger was pretty good. I just expected better. The ginger, pineapple pear juice could have had more zing to it. And the fries from Kennebec (or whatever) were just okay. The best part of the meal for both of us was the angelfood chocolate frosted cupcake which we split. Our server, Liz, I must add, was very good and we enjoyed her and some others in the staff immensely. Unfortunately, we really don't have any desire to go back here.
Waitress kind of ditzy... Good food, but the service can make such a negative impact.
Food was decent but our server was inattentive and ill informed.
The hostess needs some tips on how to read the guests. We made reservations for 2 people and when we arrived ( we were late due to a late meeting) we were seated at a communal table. 5 other people were seated at the table with an 8 inch wood divider separating us. Please note there were many vacant tables that were available throughout the restaurant. The last thing a couple wants after long day at work is to sit next to 5 people and cant help but hear their conversation! I could see if we did not have a reservation and the restaurant was busy, but it was not and we made a reservation. The explanation I was given is that the table are assigned for the wait staff to each get a turn. PLease -- get it together.
Way too load !!!!!
Everything was good, but it would have been nice to be offered a piece of bread or a cracker with the salad. The table we were at was too wide and we could not easily converse because the restaurant was noisy.
First visit to Beatrix. There were several items on the menu that I wanted to try, so I will be going back. Loved the brussel sprouts and the chicken kebabs!
Why do they give the worst tables to two women dining together? It was a week night, I had reservations and when they took us to the crappy little table, I politely asked if we could get a larger table that was not next to the server station. No, the larger tables for 4 were reserved for 4 people.....hmmmm, when we left, there were at least 2 tables for four with only two people (male & female couples). What gives? Not very nice Beatrix
Ordered coffee at the end of our lunch. Cream was bad ....coffee should have been taken off the bill.
