Love dim sum Sunday’s and 8$ cocktails. The Belmont is always great.
always a pleasure visiting the Belmont, creative menu, excellent execution reasonably priced, great service ...............and great coffee
Loved it! Welcoming, friendly vibe and delicious food!
I imagine because we went on Friday evening and it was packed that the noise level was off the scale.
However you should not have to yell across the table to converse. They really need to get some baffles in the ceiling and try to use other means to dampen the noise, customers are yelling on top of each other to be heard and its a shame because the food is typically excellent, with some misses when it gets busy.
Food was phenomenal and craft cocktails as well. Service attentive as well. Only complaint is that the staff had no idea what to do with my Opentable reward cheque. Opentable please contact them and explain the process so I can use it next time.
The roast cauliflower dish was a standout as were the curried chickpea entree and dumplings
A favourite spot of mine. Great food and imaginative drinks. Only negative: i find it cold in the winter. Maybe better insulation around the doors and windows would help?
Possibly the best brunch spot in Ottawa.
Fantastic food and service. Great value for high quality.
Busy neighborhood place. Friendly service, sometimes slow especially for cocktails. Food is generally very good, though some of the Asian-fusion dishes are on the salty side. Maybe tone down the soy sauce? Very good charcuterie-cheese plate. Not classic Spanish tapas, more like small plates with good portions. Good strong cocktails. Can get crowded and noisy, but good buzz. Line-up at the door on a Saturday night. Reserve!
Amazing menu. Great staff. Small. Go!
The food was top notch. We had a great time. I would definitely love to come back there again.
Thank you for an amazing service and food!!!!
I am often at the Belmont through my work socials. But I had to return on my own to savour once again the wonderful blend of foods served. My dish, the goats cheese gnudi with mushroom squash Brussels sprouts and Parmesan, was heaven on a plate. The opportunity to try different smaller plates involving other delectable choices makes this place much fun. They have worked hard to create a cosy, warm atmosphere- from the decor to the personable staff... and have well succeeded. I will return, and strongly recommend you give it a try!
Great food, great service, great atmosphere!
The service was awesome!!! The food was just perfect! The flavours are just incredible. Love this place! And absolute must try if you’ve never been. Make sure you make a reservation because it’s a small place...
Lovely cozy spot. Really enjoyed the cocktails and the food. We tried several dishes and enjoyed them all. Had several nice beers on tap, but you should try the cocktails.
Great food! We still get “food flashes” of the food we ate! The goat cheese medium plate was excellent!
Dependably warm and welcoming with fantastic food.
Always a fantastic experience at The Belmont and the latest visit was no different!
The Belmont on Sundays has far and away become our favourite place in Ottawa. Cosy vibe, phenomenal food, and great drinks. Thanks to the whole Belmont crew!
excellent food, great service, perfect for couples or small groups and talk
A dynamic and succinct menu that never disappoints coupled with exceptional cocktails makes this place one of our regular haunts.
The food was delicious, but a bit overpriced. $20 for the full belmont was a little extreme when I saw the amount of food. The server was very attentive and friendly, but the kitchen was slow. Also, my daughter ordered the dutch something or other and they told us that they couldn't make it because they had run out of pans (it is served in the pans they make it in). Very disappointing. They did make it up to us by paying for all our drinks. Overall 3 out of 5 stars mainly because of the disappointment of not getting what we wanted and the poor value.
Excellent flavored and creative food. Great to have a menu without fried food. Eclectic and relaxing.
The food was very tasty. Ordered 2 of the cheapest glasses of wine on the menu. When tax and tip are calculated the price for us to each have 1 glass of wine, was just under $40 for what equal about 10 oz. of wine? Restaurants truly would increase their overall business by offering a more reasonable price for wine
Cozy, cool space. Sharing plates offered ample portions and a variety of flavourful dishes.
Great service. Was crowded and a bit loud at 8pm, but we had a quiet corner for two and the place was quiet by the time we left after 10pm. Stopped in for a light snack and a drink after a movie and found it to be a perfect date night spot. Servers were friendly and engaging, food selections were perfect for what we needed.
We are at their sister restaurant (The Cameron) during the summer and came here because of our positive experience there. Very happy to recommend either location to anyone.
I came to the Belmont first because it was in my neighbourhood. I keep coming back because the food is inventive and consistently delicious. The service is friendly and warm. One of my top 3 places in Ottawa.
Food was very good. The only aspect that lacked a bit was the table/chair placement. We were seated in a 2-person table along the upper area. There was already another party at the 1st table, so we were seated at the one closest to the stairs. The person seating back-to-back with us was taking up a lot of room, and this gave myself and my mother very little room to sit. If she moved her chair back, she would be at risk of tumbling down the stairs - which would not be safe, obviously. We asked the other party if they could move their chair in and/or move the table further up a bit. They did, but were a bit rude about it. Perhaps the Belmont could space the tables so there was sufficient space to seat people comfortably, or remove the 2nd table.
Second visit to the Belmont. Both were great experiences; unique spins on a variety of mains and appetizers . Quality was superb; everything was fresh. Not big portions but this was more than compensated by the quality of the food. Had cider and wine for beverages; again, good quality. The meals were not cheap but I would recommend the Belmont without hesitation.
How can you not love the Belmont? The atmosphere is relaxed and fun; the decor is interesting and innovative; and the food is creative, seasonal and delicious. There last week with a party of four: we shared all our dishes, including the smelts, a raw tuna dish, a seafood dish and the roasted cauliflower. Everything was gush-worthy, but a treat to see smelts cooked so expertly, and the roasted cauliflower was a total standout. Ooh la la, hit me again with some of that spicy, roasted crunchiness, baby!
Our waiter was delightful, and we were all thoroughly impressed by the Belmont by the time we left. Be sure to make reservations well in advance, because the place fills up fast.
We always enjoy brunch at the Belmont .
Fun staff and fantastic food!
Loved everything about our brunch! Great server, delicious food, lovely space.
The food was amazing. Great drink options. Impeccable service. I will be back there soon.
You have to eat here if you are in Ottawa. Great food and good ambiance.
Had never heard of It before but likely to return
A bit pricey on the wine list for not top shelf wines but it was fine.
It was great for a special night out. The starter doubles we shared were super, we preferred the beef. The main course we loved was crispy pork, the shrimp main course sauce I found so so. Dessert we shared was the dutch baby, a crepe with fruit and whipped cream - yummy. Good service and friendly staff made it special.
Fun atmosphere and food that arrives steaming!! Love this place.
Really liked the charcuterie and cheese board.Enjoyed the pinot noir from Huff Estates. The server was very knowledgeable.
The decor was inviting and set the right mood for a relaxed lunch, although the big band jazz music contributed to that in a big way, well done. The service was prompt and friendly as well, it was appreciated. Both our food selections were excellent (Belmontecristo & the Full Belmont). The only detracting element was that the restaurant was filled with thick smoke, presumably from grilling meat, which irritated my throat and overshadowed the aromas of the food. Did they have a hood fan issue, perhaps? I do hope that on my next visit I'll find it easier to breathe and the aromas at their best with cleaner air.
