Bertucci's - Bel Air
Buono es buono italiano
Bertucci’s has always been a favorite of ours. However, our location has had issues for years with staffing. It had gotten better recently, but on Sunday evening, we waited a long time for our entrees. During that time, no one refilled our drinks or brought additional bread, nor was any apology offered. We weren’t in a hurry so it didn’t matter but had we been going to a movie, we wouldn’t have made it. I realize it’s difficult to find help but this appears to be an ongoing issue.
Our waitress, Mackenzie, was excellent! We had a group of seven, arriving in two, three, and two in minutes of each other. She was right there getting drink orders and asking about appetizers. Mackenzie checked with us periodically to see if there was anything we needed and/or refilling drinks.
The food arrived quickly, a pizza and five entrees, and all was hot. There were just two tiny issues that were disappointing, both were on our part. One ordered the eggplant parmigiana and thought it came with pasta, not broccoli. The other was disappointed that the broccoli wasn't more tender. Overall, the food was very good, and enjoyed by all!
I made a 12:30 PM reservation for 6 persons. It was intended to be a farewell for one of our admin staff, and I clearly indicated as such upon arrival. At that time of the day, I assumed that with a reservation, it would not be a problem to get a table within a timely manner. Instead, we waited 20 minutes to be seated, and we were then seated in the middle of the very busy and noisy main dining area. It was so loud that we nearly had to be shout to be heard by those seated next to us.
The food, as always, was good, and the server was helpful and courteous and did a good job of keeping track of our orders.
I would certainly not hesitate to return to this location as long as it is for a personal occasion with a group of no bigger than 2-4. For a bit more formal business-type meeting--not so much.
Note that the larger private meeting room was available at the time of our arrival, with settings for 6 persons already laid out, and the room remained empty the entire time we were in the restaurant. In fact, I assumed on arrival that the table had been set for us.
Good food waiter not particularly prompt.
Been going there for many years.
I loved the fact we were able to make reservations online. It is difficult sometimes to accommodate our big family at many restaurants. It would be nice to get a side salad or side for the entrees on your menu.
We had a delicious dinner! Hadn't been there in quite a while. Although the menu had changed considerably since our last visit, we did make some excellent choices: pan seared mussels in garlic/wine sauce and margherita pizza delizioso!!! Mackenzie was a charming server. Always on the ball. It was quite crowded when we got there. Fresh baked rolls oh so good with lots of dipping sauce. The prices have increased significantly since our last visit, but then so has everyone else. We will go for lunch next time.
We ordered pizza which was burnt on the bottom, beyond even wanting to eat it. This is not the first time this has happened at this restaurant. The service was slow and poor. We never saw our waiter with the exception of bringing the initial drinks and food. Didn’t get asked about drink refills until we were completely done our meal. We actually debated going to Bertucci’s for dinner last night, changed our minds and went. Experience was the same as in the past, very disappointing. We won’t be going back for awhile.
The food here is very consistent, great flavor, and always have had great service.
It's a go to for us.
The kitchen did not have it together. The restaurant was not full, but it seemed they were trying to fill take out orders first regardless. We waited an 1.5 hours for food. Waiter was polite and apologetic but did not make good use of his time (stood in kitchen visibly waiting on orders to come out versus attending to drink refills, etc). He said the kitchen was making multiple errors with other tables, thus the long wait. We will not return.
Our waiter was very nice and on top of everything we ask for. It would of been nice if you had round tables so that it would be easier for large groups to talk to each other.
Waited well beyond set reservation time. The service was terrible on many levels from the hosts to waitresses. We asked 5 times for dough for my nephew to play with and never received it. They also charge 5 dollars now for a side salad that should come with a 20 dollar entree. Overall bad experience, won’t be returning when there are many other Italian restaurants that offer better service, food, and value.
We have been eating at Bertucci's in Bel Air for 15+ years. The food is always good. the service is always very good as well. Some of the things we don't like that much is that almost every time we are there, there is a wait eventhough many tables are empty. Another aspect is the noise, it can get pretty noisy in the restaurant. We come back because the food is very good.
Bertucci's food is good. I wouldn't call it excellent Italian food but it is good. The service was fine. We were there on a busy Saturday night, so was a bit hectic, but with a reservation, we were seated in under 10 minutes and waited on promptly. My wife had the steak medallions which she liked very much. I had a cup of sausage soup and Rigatoni Abruzzi. The Abruzzi was not as good as in the past as they have switched out the slices of sausage that used to be in the dish with some kind of small chunks of sausage. Not as flavorful as before. Overall a rating of maybe 6 out of 10.
McKenzie was our server good food and great service
We had reservations for 6:30 on Valentine's Day. We got there at about 6:25 to find a crowd of people standing around the front desk. We were told that we couldn't be seated for about a half hour as the kitchen was backed up so we left. We drove to Liberatore's and were seated immediately without reservations.
The bottom line is that the reservation I made through OpenTable was worthless at Bertucci's on 2/14/2019. My wife and I arrived just before our reservation time and encountered a large crowd in the waiting area. I waded my way through the crowd to the hostess who confirmed I had a reservation, but nevertheless told me that my wait would be at least 20 min. After 20 min. of patiently waiting I checked with the hostess again who informed me that the wait would be another 20 minutes. At this point it finally struck me that the "reservation" I made on 1/26/2019, almost 3 weeks before V-Day was not a reservation at all, but a cruel wait list in sheep's clothing. We then went across the parking lot to Season's Pizza and were almost immediately served a great meal and had a nice V-Day anyway. OpenTable, I suggest you be prudent about your relationships in order to protect your own reputation.
We made a reservation for valentine's Day and when we arrived we were seated promptly. Our waitress seemed kinda new, but was very nice and accommodating. Our meal arrived rather quickly as well and was very good. Overall, it was a very nice and comfortable experience and we will visit again.
Our waitress was really great. She went out of her way to make us happy. The kitchen was backed up so it took longer than usual to get out food. My pizza was burnt, but the waitress ordered another for me.
Service could have been better, she didn't come back to refill our drinks, didn't go over the special. It was our first time there the pizza was fair to good.
Pizza was just a little under cooked, other than that it was a great experience
Well we all arrived around 4:45 I told the hostess about my reservation. They told me to wait a few which ended up to be around 20 mins. So then after 20 mins I asked bout it again . Finally got seated and they only 8 chairs set up, so we said no it’s 11 people! So I wasn’t very happy in the wait. They had said to be there on time n a grace period of 15 mins in which we were all there!
The food has been good each time we've been there. But the service has been extremely variable. The wait time to be seated has been way, way longer than we were told. The food, while good, has sometimes arrived warm rather than hot. The waitstaff are friendly but not at all quick. It just doesn't seem to be very competently managed overall.
Waitress was attentive bringing drink refills, but had to wait for straws until the first refill came. Pizzas were fine, but a sald entree for a person in our group was late. When the salad showed up it had the wrong dressing on it. Waited 15 full minutes for a replacement salad and our party had finished our meal already - despite eating slowly in hopes the salad would arrive. Asked to speak with a manager to talk about the salad and was told that he was very busy in the back and couldn't come out. Requested they comp the salad and give us our bill - and the salad was comp-ed. Overall left with a very negative feeling of the whole experience despite spending $90. At that price band, we can go almost anywhere. It will be a very long time before going back to Bertuccis. The food and experience just doesn't match where the price anymore.
One of my favorite spots. Consistently terrific. Highly recommend.
Love the food especially the choice of pizzas always have great service and food at Bertuccis
We had a reservation and checked in, but our table was given away to a walk in after us. We were given dirty dishes as was the table next to us. We asked for things that were never brought. Food was good, Alfredo a bit plain.
We always come to Bertuccis for a family get togethers. Wait staff great, food great, (for all ages). We especially love the rolls & oil and the Sangria, (white).
The had our reservation incorrect we had extremely long wait for our food and when we received
our food it was burnt and then we sent it back and the food came out under done.
Most of the time the server was no where to be found. We had a very bad experience.
We had a reservation on Christmas Eve because we had a church service to attend after dinner. We allowed ourselves 2 hours for dinner so we wouldn't be late to church. It took 10 min to get seated even though there were only a few tables occupied when we arrived. It took 30 min just for the server to take our order. Our food came out to us 45 min later. We were late to our church service. We asked for the manager, that it took 10 min to find, and all he did was say over and over again "I'm sorry". He did nothing to help the situation (this was before we even got our food). We had to get most of our food in to go boxes. This was a horrible experience. We will never go back to this restaurant.
I have been taking my family to Bertucci's Bel Air, for 4 years now to celebrate the Christmas Holiday. I treated 13 family members to dinner on 12/23. I was very disappointed this year. The food was mediocre and the service was slow. One of my guests had to return their pizza because it was not fully cooked. Another guest ordered broccoli only to find they were out of it. The potatoes that he opted for were bland and over cooked. Another guest ordered a draft beer that tasted flat. The service was slow but seamed to be a kitchen issue, not our server. It was an overall disappointing dining experience.
Ordered our normal pasta, broccoli and chicken dish and the kitchen was just off this evening. Everything else was fine and the staff took care of our meal and had it corrected.
Unfortunately, the server did not do a very good job. The table behind us with the same server complained to the manager. Salad arrived with no cutlery we asked for some but he forgot, rolls came out with the meal we had to ask twice for those.
Elaine, our service should have been much better than what you received. Please know that we will address this with our team and will do our best to make this an isolated experience. Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback!
The restaurant is ok. We had 6:30 reservations. We arrived at 6:25. There were other people waiting. At 6:30 there was an empty booth that we pointed out would be fine for our part of 3. We still had to wait about 10 more minutes before being seated at the booth that was empty when we got there. Food was better than last time. Still not my favorite place to eat but definitely not the worst in the area.
Steve, we appreciate you taking the time to write to us and are sorry to hear you did not fully enjoy your recent visit. Please know that your feedback will be shared with our management team in an effort to improve future guest experiences. Thank you for reaching out to us.
Came on halloween. Took 30 minutes until waitress arrived to order drinks/apps, then 20 more for them to arrive and then order main courses. Full hour before the dishes arrived. The explanation we received we was because the take-out orders (i felt worse for them) were 45 minutes backed up and the take out has precedence over the dine-in orders....
We love the food and always great service!!!!!!!!!
The food is typically quite good. The service and atmosphere are fairly good. The beer prices are very high. The Chicken Parm is excellent.
Great server, good food
