A nice meal but took ages to get served - one waitress doing all the tables. Not what I’ve come to expect from Bills.
The chips were hot but the rest of our lunch was luke warm. Staff were friendly enough but service was slow and we didn't have time to wait for the kids menu pudding but they said they couldn't take it off the bill as it was all included. Presume they had issues with staffing like everywhere else at the moment.
Helpful and friendly staff. Food was served at good intervals and arrived hot.
Excellent lunch as always, our go to place before theatre matinee
Really good experience at Bills. I felt very safe and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Thanks for a great meal. I will definitely be returning.
Really nice, fresh tasting food in a spacious environment that felt very covid safe. The staff were lovely: attentive, efficient and friendly, despite being busy. We had a really nice evening at Bill’s in Chichester.
Great food, lovely service, nice atmosphere, nice location
We really enjoy the lunch! great services! we will be back soon
came for some food, lovely staff super friendly and welcoming! food was delicious and came out supper quick, me and my partner shared the bills sharing plater and was so tasty, definitely recommend. The dirty vegan burger was also so delicious and the passionfruit spritz was an amazing cocktail! overall 10/10
I have been to various Bills and this one was severely lacking, very few tables were in use (Covid downturn in business but restaurants are open.) Between being seated and the drinks arriving it took over 30 minutes to get the starter and a further 45 minutes for the main course. Just ridiculously slow when they were not busy.
Nice food but frankly overpriced now and there are so many other venues it's not a place I will be returning to as it's Gastro prices and the food really isn't gastro.
Such lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food which came really quickly.
We had a brilliant waitress - service was above and beyond. She was cheerful, chatty and nothing was too much trouble
Was stood waiting for 10 mins on arrival without any acknowledgement from multiple staff members, even though we had booked a table in advance and arrived on time. Outside seating could have done with more umbrellas as everyone was bunched together in the shade and no social distancing. Service was slow and not attentive. Drinks took a while to arrive, with one of the party’s drink arriving even later. The same party’s food arrived considerably later too. Didn’t agree with the 12.5% service charge as service was pretty non existent. Bills Chichester had a reputation for having slow poor service but needed somewhere I could book for brunch as a friend was visiting so settled for a sub-standard Bill’s. Would not recommend this restaurant.
I go regularly and service is always the main issue
The food was absolutely vile and service just as bad. I certainly would not go again or recommend to anyone.
Lovely ambience. Good food with several options for vegans and vegetarians. Service could have been a bit slicker.
Virtually empty restaurant but once seated another table less than a metre away was given to another couple, so much for social distancing
We have always loved Bills but this time was bad. The food was just ok and cold and the prices have gone up too much . £12.95 for a breakfast is a lot of money ! And £3.50 for 2 slices of toast!! Also don’t like that they charge you service charge - they say it’s optional but the girl didn’t give me the option when paying ! We won’t be going back to Bills again
The service was good, although it took a while for someone to greet and seat us. I had the avo salad bowl with focaccia. It was disappointing, with missing ingredients, overdone poached eggs and stale bread. My daughters mac and cheese could have been served with a little salad. Food needs to be improved in my opinion.
Terrible Evening! Service was non existent! The staff should look to find a job elsewhere, preferably where they don't have to do anything that involves interaction with people! As they don’t seem to be capable of it!! Awful!!
Service was a little bit slow but it was quite busy when we first arrived
Great value for money
An unusually bad experience at Bill's. We arrived before 5.30pm, ordered our food and were left for 40 minutes, getting hungry. We were right next to the waiting station and entrance, so staff members were right next to us many times. When we asked about how much longer our food would take, we found out the order had not been put through. As we had a theatre booking, our order was rushed through and arrived about 15 minutes later. We had to bolt it down and then get our bill. The waitress told us she had taken off our drinks and the service charge by way of apology. The first drinks were free anyway, due to an offer that was on, and the optional service charge is not something we would have paid for such poor service. So the price of a main meal was taken off when I pointed this out. Really disappointing from Bill's. Especially annoying was one member of staff who kept coming back to the waiting station, blocking the way when my Mum was waiting to sit back down, talking out loud to herself and moving things around on the desk, completely ignoring us.
We've been coming to Bills for years but Saturday was our worst experience. We waited a long time just for our drinks to arrive let alone the meal. My husband had Bill's Brunch which was just warm so by the end of the meal it was cold.
I had Yoghurt, Granola and Berries. It was almost as if there was no yoghurt. It was so dry I had to ask for more yoghurt and the waitress said she'd bring syrup but I didn't get any. In the end I left it as it was not palatable.
We'd had the same meal 4 weeks prior but this meal was not the same unfortunately.
Also, people were arriving individually for one of the group areas. They bypassed the queue which is fine but then walked straight in without the Covid testing as there was no-one there to greet them.
I'm afraid this experience has put us off and we won't be going back.
A 13.50 service charge was considered to be excessive took the shine of a good night. Would recommend to a friend but would have to warn them about S/C
Great place for reasonable food, whenever. You can generally always guarantee good food at Bill’s wherever you are in the U.K. Service was good, clean tables and prompt delivery of our order. No pints on tap, so that was disappointing! Perhaps a little rushed, not sure why as it was really quiet for a Friday night.
Nice area of Chichester and sat in a nice spacious booth!
Service seemed uninterested.
Food was lovely as always but it was an unexpected change that the service was unenthusiastic and poor, it also seemed quite unorganised as we had 6 waiters and waitresses come over to the table when the restaurant was quiet. Despite all of this, I will be returning, as Bills has always been a treat
The food was delicious and the service was very fast. Our waitress was very attentive and efficient too.
Great service, great food and lovely evening
I would highly recommended bills restaurant. The staff were v attentive and exceeded our expectations
Lucy looked after us and was really kind to my daughter who was upset due to her iphone breaking. Service above and beyond the food
Great food and service! Would definitely recommend!
Bill's was very quiet on Saturday due to the England Euro Cup game so any revue for that oarticular night would be a bit unfair.
Excellent service considering how busy was and Staff lovely.
Waited 15 minutes to be seated, then waited another 10 minutes for our order to be taken. Out of the 3 meals 2 of them were cold. As soon as we told our waitress she brought out 2 new ones which were hot and she was very apologetic. When the bill came she had removed the two meals from it and again was very apologetic. Won't be rushing back here again
We were a party if 6 ranging in age from 23 to 86. Everyone enjoyed the food (especially we found the desert menu very innovative). Service was fine despite being very busy. The ambience was modern and bustling. If we had any criticism all, it was noisy so I wouldn’t choose this venue for a quiet chat. Ideal for larger groups though.
Celebrating birthdays. 6 of us and we all fitted nicely on a large table. Service was good and everyones food was very tasty. Recommend.
Not the best experience, they forgot our order and we ended up waiting for 50mins before our drinks and food got served. The manager did apologise and take money off the order but it still wasn’t the best.
Convenient, decent choice on menu, good value, attentive service, didn't have to wait too long, sound Covid safeguards, nice atmosphere, easy booking.
Good to be back at Bill's. Pleasant welcome. Online booking worked well. Excellent waitress. Very enjoyable food and ambience. Cleanliness good.
First time in Chichester and booked Bill’s after looking online.
It’s a lovely looking restaurant. It was clean and friendly. The menu was good but quite small. Reasonably priced food. The food tasted good. The drinks were expensive, almost £10 for a gin and tonic. For a family of 4 ( teenage children) who had a dinner and a pudding it was quite pricey. They also include the ‘optional’ tip in the bill.
I’m sure the atmosphere on a busier- non Covid time would be great in there. It was very quiet but it was a wet Sunday night. The staff were friendly and helpful which added to the atmosphere.
