Lovely service, friendly but not overbearing. Good choice of dishes, all were really well done. Character building with nice atmosphere. Thank you.
Been to this restaurant recently for Breakfast and Lunch - menu very good for meat eaters and vegetarians.
Lovely staff and ambience
Staff were very welcoming and the service was excellent
Got to restraunt in guildford, waited get in then got told coukdnt have breakast .joke ...
Great service, friendly staff, food was lovely, Pineapple express cocktail was a hit, will be back:)
Bustling on a Saturday lunchtime. The waiting staff were very friendly and attentive despite being extremely busy. The classic burgers we all ordered with fries were delicious, and the ice creams, lemon sorbet and chocolate brownie desserts we ordered were equally so. The food was reasonably priced, tasty, fresh and well presented. It was a scorching hot day and the inside environment was well air-conditioned. I like the fact that they use seasonal produce on the menu. Will definitely return.
Great place, great service and great food. Will definitely go again.
Good service and excellent air con. Food was average. Men's toilets were dirty, as were the stairs leading to them. Overall, I was disappointed. Not as good as a visit to Bill's in Plymouth.
Mimi was lovely. She engaged with us and made my niece laugh. She was very kind.
Absolutely love this place. Food is always on point, and service never disappoints.
Had the Eggs Benedict, and the poached eggs were perfect. Out server couldn’t have been more attentive & friendly
Another great visit
Very busy and too loud to hear each other speak. Asked for a more isolated table and was put on a walk way instead where last time I wasn't. Took a while to get served, even once quiet took a while to get our dessert menus, desserts and drinks. Asked for sauces with main and they were never received.
Usually Bills is very good, this is my first time I'm unhappy with the service.
Fab service- very speedy which was great as we were on a lunch break. Will be recommending to colleagues. Food was delicious and staff so friendly and helpful!
Excellent service and very welcoming. Rules around covid clearly explained and actioned.
Went for breakfast. Service was fantastic as was the food.
Food was lovely, we both had vegan burgers for main but we did order the vegan sharing platter which we presumed would come as a starter but it all arrived together and being sat at a small table we struggled with room. No one checked in while we ate to see if the food was okay, didn’t check if we wanted any sauces with our food. After finishing, the plates were cleared but we weren’t offered the desert menu or offered any coffees/teas or the bill. It then took 30 minutes for us to be able to signal to the waitress for the bill, as if we didn’t, god knows how long we would have been waiting! Pretty poor service, we then refused to pay the service charge which then the waitress told us she would have to get someone else to remove it from our bill which took another 10 minutes. Probably won’t be returning any time soon.
Terrible service we not even eat they were very rude
This is the 3rd week running we have had breakfast at the Guildford branch of Bill’s. Each week it has improved. The staff were very attentive and a real pleasure to engage with. Topped by a lovely conversation with the lady manager Mimi. Can’t wait to visit again. A brilliant start to a Sunday morning. First class and will definitely recommend.
Was amazing! Must give real credit to our server Hannah, she was just amazing, so attentive and friendly. I cannot give her enough credit. Will be back soon for sure.
Lovely idea to support England and the cocktails were delicious.
Service very good and the meal scrumptious.
Our main waitress was lovely really chatty. However the waitress who served us our food came across been abrupt and rude. We asked for sauce and her reply was “how many do you want so I don’t have to keep running backwards and forwards”.
The food wasn’t very hot so had to eat it quickly.
Food was over cooked, just burgers and chicken breast so a shame not to get the basics right. We were told we needed to be finished within 1.5 hours, not a problem for us except the service and food was very slow. Disappointing visit. Happy to support local restaurants but will try somewhere else next time.
Service was kind of slow and had to order drinks more than once to actually get them. Tables around us were complaining about value for money, the food was ok and the menu reasonably priced but there was a hair or something in my food.
Characterful building, staff were really welcoming and friendly. The interior was quirky and spacious, our waitress gave us plenty of time to talk before ordering, service was fabulous. We didn’t have to wait too long before our food arrived, really delicious and well presented, would definitely dine here again, thank you!
Ok place to eat. Staff friendly and polite. Main menu a bit limited. I had the steak and eggs, steak was very tough.
Food & service was lovely…but the portion sizes???
3 athletes in our group and after starter & main course we had to eat again when we got home.
Still a lovely experience.
Service was lovely, drinks nice as always - had the booster and giner beer. Fish finger sandwich hard to eat (and not enough tartar sauce), crap cakes tasty. Really good coffee and mini doughnuts to finish. Friendly nice place to go.
Good service. Staff very efficient and pleasant
Luke warm Garden breakfast again, (!) one teabag in large teapot, and a warm banana smoothie! Reminds me why I stopped going to Bills. Service and ambience friendly and good as always, but brunch food lets this place down.
Great drinks service and atmosphere. Chairs were too small by the bar though.
Always have great food and our waitress was really receptive and always makes time to talk to my 3 year old daughter and it makes her day.
We received a warm welcome and we’re seated at our table . We did have to wait about 15 minutes before being served and we only had one place setting despite prebooking, so we had to ask the waiter for a napkin, knife and fork. We ordered Bill’s Sharing Platter for our starter and it was okay though the chicken skewers were very dry and chewy, they had either been over cooked or reheated. The calamari tested like it was a frozen packet rather than freshly made and was a little tasteless. For our mains we ordered Mojo Chicken Skewers with quinoa but again the chicken was very dry and very bland. We were disappointed as we have been regular customers at Bill’s for many years and this visit was t up to par.
We always enjoy going to Bill's and the menu offers me (I have food intolerances) a choice where other restaurants don't bother. The ambience was a wee bit noisy the last time we went but we put that down to people getting exciting going out to lunch after so long!
Wait persons are always friendly and in fact all of your service people are friendly so an enjoyable lunch. Thanks
I've visited various Bills restaurants in the last few months and this one wasn't as good as others. I feel that our table could have been cleaned to a better standard (I also heard other customers complaining about the same issue) and the food could have been served on hot plates, meaning the food would have stayed hot for a longer period. Other than that, the waitresses were attentive and regularly checked up on us, which was good. The restaurant had the windows/doors open, meaning that there was a breeze blowing though, which is good in these times. I'm in two minds as to whether I would go back though.
It was ok but my main course , fish goujons in sourdough bread was poor . Very few gougons and way too much bread , also couldn't taste tartare sauce , Service was fine .
Lovely atmosphere, went for lunch on a Sunday and had a table inside by the window. I think the restaurant is possibly a bit understaffed, our order arrived after about half an hour alongside a couple of other tables, with very hot plates but lukewarm food - suspect it had been sitting on the hot plate waiting to be taken out for a while. We didn't get a check back to see if everything was ok, but the food itself tasted good so it wasn't a massive problem. It's not like the staff were just hanging around either, the people we saw were very busy the whole time, which is why I wonder if they just didn't have enough people on that day.
Overall it is a really nice place to spend some time and have some food, just maybe go when it's a bit quieter!
Great for brunch. Really good options and quality.
Lovely restaurant with the right level of service and being left to enjoy your meal.
Had to send some food back as it was burned underneath. Coffee tasted bad and came long after food arrived. Sat downstairs which is very dark. Staff didn't check back with us until end of meal. Overall not the best experience.
We had to wait a long time between our starters and main course and no-one came to apologise for the delay or explain why we had to wait so long.
I was also served a glass of Prosecco which was not very cold. I did send it back, and the replacement was still not very cold.
It was apparent to me that there was a shortage of staff.
Food and drink was great! We also requested to sit outside when booking and luckily we were able to do so! Hope our server was so sweet as well!
