One of the nicest restaurants you can go to in Chicago. Food and service is fantastic. The staff are very professional and nic to
Amazing brunch! Great value and quality! We think it is the top place in the neighborhood.
Complex French county flavors. Had the whitefish and it was superb! Anyone who been here need to stop in. Great spot
We are regulars since the opening. Worst meal we ever had. Chef changed the meat cut of the steak frites - awful and fatty. Salmon quality tasted frozen served with mushy potato galette. Might need to reconsider as our fave neighborhood spot. Really saf
Very good food. My friend had the chicken and I had the white fish, we were both very happy with our meals. Our scallop appetizer was very tasty also. Too bad it was raining, I would have liked to have eaten in their lovely garden.
You can never go wrong with Bistro Campagne. Everything was sublime.
I have been to Bistro Campagne several times and I have never been disappointed. The food is very well prepared, delicious and reasonably priced. The service is also wonderful.
The food is always perfect there. Sitting outside in the adorable patio in back is so relaxing. The server was very nice and friendly. The only problem was it took a very very long time to get our entrees.
Our first visit to Bistro Compagne but will definitely not be our last, it was a milestone anniversary celebration & it could not have been better. The food was great, the ambience ,charming & our server, Tanya, was wonderful. A true 5 star experience!!
Very pleasant evening with good food in a lovely space.
We came here for the first time for our anniversary and the staff was so nice! They treated us so kindly and made us feel special!
Bistro Campagne is in one of the most beautiful spaces of any restaurants I’ve been to. We especially love the courtyard, but the indoor seating areas also have a nice atmosphere. We were there most recently to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and were greeted with glasses of champagne, which was a lovely touch. Every course of our meal was delicious, and the service was at exactly the right level of attentiveness.
I love this place. Great food, friendly & knowledgable service, and a lovely setting, with no pretension.
We loved our visit to Bistro Campagne. The outdoor garden looks lovely, I hope we can get a table out there some time in this great weather. We loved the hot bread, which came to the table only after we ordered appetizers, so we didn't get to eat much of it because our beet salad had arrived and it was terrific. The whitefish on pea puree was heavenly. I love steak frites, but didn't pay enough attention to the menu and it came smothered in a sauce, which I would've preferred it not had. That said, it was perfectly done and the fries were great. Only real downside was our server. She took our initial cocktail order at the outset, taking a lot of care to help us understand each fabulous ingredient, then once they were delivered, we never saw her again the rest of the meal. Wonderful spot, though, charming, cozy and always good food.
I reserve a table every year for my girlfriend and I. It’s been a three year tradition for our anniversary. We’ve never been disappointed. The food is excellent. The ambiance is great for romantic dinners. The service is great and the staff is kind.
Tried this local restaurant and found it to be excellent. Food is on a caliber with much more expensive venues. Outdoor patio is busy - we opted for an inside table and were rewarded with a quiet dinner.
Loved the food, service and convenient parking lot across the street!
We were seated outside, but because we could smell garbage from alley, we ask to move to different seat. The food was tasty, however my friends quail was not baked enough. She asked for making it better, but eventually she took it home to cook it more.
We celebrated our anniversary at Bistro Champagne. From the moment we arrived, we knew we picked the right place. The service, ambience and food were exceptional. We will definitely be back and look forward to making this our favorite restaurant.
The food was good however the service was terrible. It took an hour to get the first course. We cancelled sides after they didn’t arrive with the main course or 15 minutes later despite us asking for the status (it was macaroni and cheese).
Only the busboy came by to fill our water. The waitress never returned to check on us.
They brought us the wrong check.
Service was amazing! Highly recommend this place for a nice dinner. Noise level was low so we were able to speak without having to yell over each other!
This is a very quaint restaurant with nice ambiance. The food and service was great.
I definitely recommend this place for a celebration and romantic atmosphere.
Can't say enough great things about Bistro Campagne - you can tell the staff loves working there, they know and are proud of what they serve and do. The food is phenomenal - beautifully orchestrated 'French Bistro" food - you feel like you have been transported to someone's home in France -- no stuffy pretentiousness - just a cozy, intimate environment with a joie de vivre. A true gem.
Love this restaurant, never a bad meal! Highly recommend!
We were blown away by the cocktails and pre fixe menu last Wednesday! The decor was lovely and atmospheric and the wait staff attentive and professional. Seldom does one get full portions as well as a variety of starters with wine pairings for $52 !?! The Mussel starter was huge & superb and my entree was the Best Chicken dish I’ve EVER tasted. We will definitely be regulars!
The food was succulent. I’m still daydreaming of how delicious it was!
Fantastic cocktails, delicious food and soothing ambience. Great for a group of friends or even a date night.
A very comfortable setting that could almost pass as a country bistro. The food is excellent (try the croquettes, and then the confit de canard, or perhaps the steak frites), and the service helpful and cheerful. The wine list is a bit problematic: the offerings could be increased and the prices decreased. Overall, however, good food and good value.
Christopher was our excellent waiter
Food was great, quiche was to tender and tasty with a great crispy crust.
Love this place. It's a regular for us. If you like well executed french bistro food you are in the right place.
Food was excellent.
Wait staff was superb.
My husband and I came here for his birthday. We sat on the back patio, had a few cocktails, an app, and two entrees; we loved everything! It was a bit pricey but you pay for what you get. The patio was beautiful. We would return and recommend this to others.
We have been there many times and will never return because:
1 - $9 salad had such minimal dressing we couldn't taste it and asked for more
2 - They forgot one order which was then ordered when the other 5 entries arrived
3 - The foie gras was cold
4 - The duck was supposed to have a cherry sauce, but only had cherries thrown into a sauce
5 - Mussels were overcooked and were lukewarm when served. 1/3 would not open and were edible
Other than that, the fries, deserts and steak were well prepared.
Having eaten here before, he anticipated a standard that we were accustomed too, only to find out that something was terribly wrong in the kitchen.
Took my sister out for her birthday, te food was delicious, the service was very attentive, and the ambiance was quiet. It was like going to dinner with to friends house. It was cozy, quiet, and relaxing.
Best outdoor space in the city plus great food and service.
Delicious food and knowledgeable staff. We enjoyed the mussels so much! Highly recommend this restaurant for a date night or special occasion!
One of the few French restaurants in Chicago that feel truly authentic. There’s a front and a back patio. Sit in the FRONT patio if the weather is nice. It’s like dining in a miniature Japanese garden while eating meticulously prepared French food. Also, wonderful little baguettes served with dinner courtesy of Phlour bakery in Chicago.
Wonderful food, ambience and atmosphere. Always a great experience.
Service has been very mediocre the last few visits. On our most recent visit, there were long waits for the waitperson to stop by, and long waits for food and wine orders. There was not much of a description of any of the menu items. The waitperson was pleasant enough, but was not particularly professional. I wish I could say this was an anomaly, but this reflects the general experience we have seen on our past several visits. The ambiance is terrific and the experience has been outstanding in years past. They seem to be resting on their laurels.
