Perfektes Restaurant für einen Abstecher nach San Francisco. Gutes Essen, Livemusik, malerisches Gebäude. Sehr gute Weinkarte.
Amazing food and ambiance!
I have been coming here for years but this was the first time we sat at a table and not the bar - great staff and service!
The Lobster "Special" was fairly priced but was just OK - not great. Otherwise everything was very good. Had a very nice evening.
We have been coming here for special occasions for almost thirty years we celebrated my husbands birthday last night in Bixs timeless atmosphere I always feel like I’m in a black and noir movie when I’m here!!! Can’t wait to return
I'm always in awe of the Speakeasy, Art Deco atmosphere at Bix. Truly adds to the dining experience. Some new items added to the menu. Particularly delectable is a new dessert tart with perfectly made and executed crust.
Loved the entire experience
Everything was just great! This has always been one of our favorite restaurants in San Francisco! Michelle was wonderful in talking-to us and letting us know about what is available that night!
The first time I went to Bix was over 25 years ago and last night I
The food is high quality, and flavorful.
Wonderful ambiance and service
What a great experience. We always love the atmosphere of BIX, and were celebrating family who were visiting and we wanted to show off old San Francisco style. We had a great table at the top of the stares. The full staff was very helpful and accommodating for one member of our group who was disabled. The food was amazing DO NOT PASS ON THE MARROW BONES they are delicious. The Wagyu NY Strip was perfectly cooked and the Crab Tagliatelle was delish. We ordered and loved all deserts. The waiter really knew his wines and picked a perfect one for our meal. Great service all around!
Food was good. With live music people had to talk louder therefore the noise level was high. Excellent service. Fun spot and fun location.
Bix is always an excellent choice...it never disappoints!
Very cool atmosphere and everything we ordered had tons of flavor. You think you would spend more money at this type of restaurant. Very easy on the wallet
Best restaurant in SF
Bix is a favorite, always reliably good food and a great atmosphere. The service is very good too, except for the food auction (“who ordered the tuna?”). It’s just so surprising in a place of this caliber.
Bix is just a very special place, all the way around.
The main floor had too many tables - I was bumped like 25 times by staff that couldn’t get between tables.
great food and great venue great time. great place for a special dinner. will be memorable for all who go. thank you.
Celebrated some friends' anniversary and couldn't have been more pleased. The food, the ambiance, live trio and service could not have been better. Even after all of these years. Bix still knocks it out of the ballpark.
We enjoyed a wonderful date night at Bix (10/7/2021). The food and wine were wonderful and the service was excellent.
Amazing food, amazing service, amazing ambiance.
Great service. Classy place.
Great eclectic SF moody amber ambience. Smooth sophistication with the golden glow from the bar wafting through the high ceilings with jazzy notes to parse the cheers!
Awesome place for a special occasion. Staff very nice and attentive
Love this place, live music, old school nightclub feel, excellent food, perfect bar, great service…what’s not to love. Lunch is great, too
Was the premiere place to go. Been around so very long. Tried and true. I cannot sadly say this now. I don’t want to disparage the restaurant but I do know that they have a loyal clientele and nothing I say will affect that.
For the price and the longevity I expected more.
We tried the potato puffs the deviled eggs the marrow bones the corn soup the salad the lamb the pasta with crab the desserts. And kore. A comprehensive meal.
The service started poorly and maybe that set the tone. I preferred the Prosecco and did not care for it at all. Waiter should have said I’m so sorry what can I get you. Period. I took one sip that was it. He looked at me and was clearly intending to charge me for that. I preferred the Roderer. Maybe you’d like a taste to be sure he asked me. Nope I’m sure of this one. The attitude was evident. And not just here. There were a few and the same story applies or should: how can we make this right for you. Period. Customer service.
He got more attentive as the night went on seeing we were going to spending a lot of $
The puffs were light and crispy pleasant. Zero presentation. Should have been accompanied by something. Palate cleanser between unctuous bites. Something. Inspired? Nope.
The eggs were very good. With truffles. Again the presentation zero. But also super expensive for deviled eggs. The marrow bones piled on a too small plate the charred bread nice but the marrow need a knife to pry it and scoop it out.
The lamb chops two small chops with a terrible acidic mix of beets potatoes and a smidge of yogurt sauce with undercooked chickpeas on top. Bad combination.
The crab pasta was okay. Maybe a light lemon cream sauce or something. It was meh.
The desserts were completely uninspired. A dry chocolate cake a banana foster a creme brûlée with a just too much burn on the sugar top.
The bill was over $800 for 6 of us. Wouldn’t complain if the meal was stellar. It sadly was not.
That’s ok. Plenty of people will keep going there.
Food was expensive. And very mediocre. Half our mussels had no meat, and sauce was only average. Drinks were expensive.. you only got 1 shot on the highballs not one drop more..chintz. The corkage fee was 30$.. so don’t bother bringing your own bottle, The pumpkin cream brûlée was runny, like thick soup. My salmon was o.k…. My wife liked her scallops. My brother had the waugu burger… o.k. The Cesar was small and terrible. (Soaked). Restaurant ambiance was first rate. Band bar, old town San Fran feel. The bar is very cool. Almost worth price of admission. Go for a drink.. no dinner.
Our waitress Michelle was amazing. We ended up splitting the bill between 5 people causing some stress and she handled it gracefully!
Atmosphere is very old period SF and wonderful to experience. Wait staff all very good and a pleasure. As the evening moved on it became very noisy upstairs (and probably worse downstairs) to where we could hardly hear each other talk. The noise overwhelmed the piano player so we could not hear the piano very well. It is just the acoustics of the building. Didn't help to have a table of 7 next to us with 2 young ladies (sisters?) with exactly the same high pitched piercing voices. Easy to run a big bill up (with alcohol of course).
We were celebrating my husband's birthday. Food and service were impeccable. Really enjoyed. Great for a special occasion.
Great food. Great service. Ambience special with piano man and vocalist. Quiet background music. Special occasion destination or just a great place any time.
Service felt rushed. Waiter/Busser took my unfinished wine away.
great food. amazing ambiance. great live music and fun atmosphere. old school san francisco vibe.
Consistency and excellence, thank you!
Bix was everything we could've wanted it to be and so much more! We were fortunate to get (IMO) the BEST table in the house, though I can't imagine there are any that aren't amazing. The live piano music was lovely and added the perfect touch to date night. Jorge was engaging and the perfect host - he gave great recommendations and some fun background into the restaurant/space. The tableside tomato cart = gorgeous and delicious. The crudo = outstanding. Salmon w broccolini = fresh and perfectly cooked. The lamb chop w roasted carrots = out of this world! Would get all 4 again in a heartbeat, I'll dream about that lamb chop for a while :)
Great dining experience with live piano and vocalist.
Exceptional food quality and presentation. Had a business dinner with colleagues and everyone enjoyed the evening immensely. We tried nearly every starter and all of them were big hits. The tomato salad was the best I have ever had.
Service was attention and patient with us as we chatted and took our time ordering. It was a wonderful, but expensive dining experience.
Overall, it was great, but crowd level was a little loud to enjoy the music.
