Black & Blue Steak and Crab - Albany
We had a good time with my family for my sister birthday the food was great the service was excellent. Definitely will go again.
A lovely anniversary dinner that we both will remember. The atmosphere was beautiful and staff couldn’t be any nicer. 10/10 would do again
This was our first visit to the restaurant, and with a couple of "qualifications", I'd say they're "good", and I'd return. My two issues: 1.) Baked potatoes are NOT ON THE MENU...but they ARE available if you ask. (However, they were quite small, as compared to other upscale restaurants.) 2.) 3 of the 4 steaks ordered, had to be returned for MORE FIRE. This is not unusual, IF you were a new restaurant, or a new chef. When returned, all 3 were excellent!
Service was excellent. Sat at the bar by the door and smelled car fumes the whole time we were there every time the door opened but no where to move. Food came out cold. We had salads that were not made according to the menu. Too expensive to not have excellent food.
I ordered salmon and it was good but a little dry. The lettuce on the Caesar salad was in rather large pieces requiring me to use a knife to cut it up.
Sorry I can only give five stars. Service, dinner and drinks was absolutely perfect
Great meal! Went with friends - it was their first time and they were impressed.
Sat in a booth set for 4. We had two in our party. They need to clear the extra settings before arriving at table. They made us remove the extra settings. Not at all acceptable for an upscale restaurant. Food was great. Did have to return the fries. They were limp and undercooked. Second batch was perfect. I like this place tho.
Excellent all around experience.
Went for anniversary and noted that in online reservation.
Greeted with recognition of anniversary and received complimentary champagne toast. Very nice touch
The service and the food were fabulous! Spent New Year’s Eve there!
Service was amazing and food was delicious!
Great New Year’s Eve meal
Food was good little noisy and Abit over priced was seated 35 or 40 minutes late but sat at bar was ok
We were at Black and Blue on New Year's Eve. Considering it was one of the busiest days of the year the food & service were outstanding, and we were never made to feel rushed.
Very nice upscale restaurant. Very nice decor but a little noisey. Great service, great menu and excellent food, with large portions. Highly recommended.
I have never had such An AMAZING experience!!! We were there for our Anniversary and most do not acknowledge the response to this, but here every employee we interacted with wished us a happy anniversary
Good service. My ribeye was undercooked and my father's steak was a bit overcooked. Food was good, but not great. Wasn't a fan of the mashed potatoes either. Very nice place and ambiance.
It’s always a great dining experience with amazing food. Go to spot for anybody who likes a steak that’s made exactly how you want it, with a taste that’s out of this world.
The food was so good. And I rarely say that. Well worth the price.
Dinner was fine, but service was sparse, somewhat rude and condescending, and while they've made efforts to address the noise issue, it's practically impossible to hear a conversation from across the table. We were all quite hoarse the following day from having to yell to be heard.
We had a primary and secondary waiter but both of them left in the midst of taking orders and filling waters which left us frequently looking for one of them to finish the jobs. We never did get the extra butter we requested as well as other little things so while nothing was explicitly wrong, the overall feeling wasn't one of comfort or a good meal. The food itself was good but at these prices, I'd expect a bit better service.
While this was our first visit, it was the second visit for some in our party. During their visit, an accident by waitstaff spilled a frothy, colored drink all over one of them which required their outfit to be dry cleaned. There was no offer of compensation or apology at the time. During our visit, a whole tray of glasses was broken just before we were seated. They understandably kept from seating us at our assigned table and offered us drinks in the bar while we waited. Given our party, we opted not to have drinks in the bar but the drinks we had at the table were charged in full. We also were not given a reason why we could not have been seated at one of the identical tables away from the glass spill.
While I normally have a three-strikes rule for restaurants, I think I would opt not to return to this one. Good food is important but so is good service. The service we received seems to be status quo with no extenuating circumstances that normally would earn them further chances.
The desserts were okay- would probably skip it next time. The appetizers, main course with sides were delicious.
Celebrated my birthday here! Great food and outstanding service. Could not have asked for a better experience!
My husband and I went for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. We were greeted politely, given a card from the hostess to thank us
The bar was very good, actually the best part of the experience. The restaurant part was okay.
We went for dinner on Christmas Eve and had a wonderful time as always!!!
We had a delicious meal on Christmas Eve.
I would only recommend B&B to a friend if they were loaded with money. The ambiance & the service is top notch and is an experience to be had. However, for the price, the food was not worth it. I got the cowboy ribeye medium and I could taste burnt char on some pieces. My hash brown rosti cake was just gross, and everyone at my table tried it. The haricots verts were beyond basic. However, my friends mushroom pasta dish was tasty.
We had a fantastic experience and splurged big time on great steaks, sides, wine, and desert. The service is impeccable, friendly, and not overly pushy. Perfect location and easy to get to with plenty of parking. Nice big bar area to hang out, coat check, etc. All in all the premium experience you would expect -- and the prices bear out it's a premium experience (which is fine as long as you get what you pay for -- and you do).
Nothing like this in the area. Level of service and meal on par with a Del Frisco’s. Overall decor and ambiance is modern. Only detractor is the noise level inside. It may have just been the table next to us, but the volume was high. Oh and the chairs. The recline is puzzling until you eat and then it is welcome.
The service was excellent, however the food was over seasoned/salty, oily, and didn’t appear to be as fresh as expected. For the price of the food I would have expected better.
Great food and service. Very nice atmosphere quality and quantity was also great
Beautiful restaurant and very attentive staff. Found the steak (Kansas City dry aged) to be a little “tough crust and dry” black and blue style than other high end restaurants.
Your staff is very attentive and very pleasant. The dining area is very uncomfortable given the acoustics. We dined next to a table surrounded by other occupied tables. Everyone seemed to be speaking at a reasonable tone but we still found ourselves all yelling to hear over the ruckus of the room. As for value, you’re paying a premium for a nice quality slab of meat. One member of our party has a grizzle ridden strip which mostly went to the trash. My rack of lamb was fantastic however I wouldn’t pair a warm lamb with a cold yogurt and heated fruit. It was quite and unpleasant clash so my sides also went to waste and left much to be desired. When I finish a $60 plate I don’t think having to grab another dinner role would be necessary to achieve “fullness”. We dined at a run of the mill Texas Roadhouse the following evening (last night) and the $40 prime rib with two included sides and salad were far and above what we received at Black and Blue and the atmosphere was less chaotic proving a better setting for our business outing.
Very disappointed in the food. New York strip requested medium-rare, came medium-well. Had no taste whatsoever other than the taste of the broiler. The asparagus was overcooked and had no taste. The mushrooms were the best part of the meal but way over salted. It a shame this restaurant with its high prices provides such poor results.
The decor is warm and comfortable, and the lighting is especially creative and fun. There is a wide variety of seating available, and our booth was roomy and comfortable for three. The wine selection was excellent, as was the food. The snapper and vegetables was perfectly cooked. The steak one had was a bit overdone: he thought it may have continued to cook on the metal plate it came on, but the flavor was wonderful. The scallops and beans were good, not exceptional, and my husband could have used some sort of potato with it...especially given the price. We agreed it would be a better value if the fairly high cost of entrees included sides. But it was a very relaxed and comfortable, satisfying dining experience, overall.
Loves the place. I was treated like a king. The service was top notch.
Went to see Celine Dion. Told waiter staff we had to be in and out and they made it happen. Great service lovely people and food to die for
Highly, highly recommend this place. Very good, super fresh seafood selection.
