Blue Door Farm Stand
Wonderful food. Relaxing and tasteful atmosphere. We would gone again, next time we travel to Chicago.
Great food and service. Really cute restaurant. Will definitely be back.
This place is adorable and the food and service is outstanding! Went back two days in a row! Leanne was a lovely and
Thoughtful waitress and the hostess was very pleasant.
Service was slow
Not asked if we wanted coffee or another cocktail
Food was warm not hot
My husband had the eggs w hash browns sausage & toast
Sausage no taste, one tiny little piece of toast
My blt sandwich was fair- not hot too much salad
Been to restaurant several times & all were delicious
Went for dinner. The Brussels sprouts and cheese curds are great. I got the burger which was good but nothing outstanding. Now I need to try their brunch!
Service was ok. We're ordered tri desserts and only one showed up & that was very stale.
Blue Door Farm Stand is one of my favorite places to eat in Lincoln Park. The food is fresh, inventive and plentiful. I also love the creative decor and tableware...I'm a big fan of cloth napkins and beautiful things! The downstairs is noisier than upstairs, so something to consider if you want a quieter eating experience. So glad this place is here. On a Thursday for lunch, it was jumping. I guess I'm not the only one who loves this spot.
I booked this to celebrate a special occasion in a friend’s life. I am so sorry we picked this place. I found ordered the lamb chops and they were as tough as leather and practically tasteless. Sat on an undistinguished bed of chickpeas. My friend ordered the tuna salad and they asked her if she wanted the tuna breaded and fried! The menu was very uninspired- I mean cheese curds as an appetizer—really! That is part of their “farm” shtick. The wait staff was so “attentive” as to seem intrusive. Every time we were actively engaged in a discussion was when they felt obligated to ask if we were happy with our meals or did we want more water. I hope no one goes there to pop the question to their significant other because a waiter will interrupt them—no kidding! And very noisy to boot.
They don’t have valet parking so good luck finding a parking place. The only positive I can say is that they are probably not destined to be around for long.
We spent a great time at Bleu Door Farm, the food was excelent.
Our server did not check on us a single time after we ordered. No exaggeration. It also took him an incredible amount of time to notice that we had been done with our meal for at least 15 minutes. Had to flag down a nice server who eventually got our waiter to us for the check.
I didn't realize that the "tuna salad" was actually just greens with seared Ahi tuna on the side. It wasn't really the type of tuna salad you'd expect at a restaurant with "Farm Stand" In the name and was too much like sushi, which I do not enjoy.
Beautiful space. Rotating menu that is always good. Brings the farm right to your table. Perfect for brunch, lunch, and dinner.
Blue Door Farm stand is very approachable and well executed. The food was flavorful (good level of spice on the sweet potato empanadas) and well cooked. The salmon had nice crust but was not dried out and the lamb chops were well prepared, the massive pork while brined was a touch dry. The house rose is good. Service was pleasant and attentive.
I was excited to try this place out. It’s a great ambiance inside with cute decor. However, the food is way over priced for the quality of the food. Salmon was dry. The menu can be misleading; for example, the Brussels sprouts was actually a salad and the menu was unclear. The tuna was sub-par. Service was fine but overall I would recommend to keep looking for other spots.
Excellent food. Best omelet either of us have ever had.
Liked it. Chicken was really good-wonderful crispy skin. Lamb Chops were great. Loved the vegetable combination it came with. The Brussels Sprouts with bacon were good as well.
This place Is always amazing you are! You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu.
Would not recommend Blue Door Farm Stand. At first the restaurant appeared quaint and delightful. The ambiance is great and menu looks good. However, the service was terrible. First, the appetizers arrived before the drinks. The waiter then brought over one drink (a beer) without the other drink in the order (a cocktail). There was about a 10 minute lag time between bringing out the second drink, certainly not ideal dining given the appetizers were already out on the table. Then, the entrees came very shortly after the second drink, but we were not yet done the appetizers. The table was not large enough to fit both the appetizer plates and the entree plates, so the waiter offered to pack up the appetizers. Instead, we opted to transfer the remaining apps onto small plates. However the server LEFT while we were transferring so we were left to hold our used appetizer plates while the entrees sat on the table for at least 3-4 minutes before a server came to retrieve it. The meal was very expensive and not very enjoyable given how rushed the appetizers and entrees were but how delayed the drinks were. Would not recommend!
I have gone to Blue Door Kitchen and have loved it! Blue Door farm stand is nothing like it. I have tried this place several times now and the food is less than average. I am so confused as to why. I had a club sandwich the last time and the meat seemed like cheap processed lunch meat. Very disappointing. The kitchen messed up our order, but our server quickly rectified it. She was very attentive. Unfortunately the food has been tasting bland and/or overcooked. Please, I hope management is looking at this because this used to be so amazing and I am not sure what happened. We need you in the neighborhood!
We celebrated my dear friends birthday. It was a first for all of us and we have no regrets. We’re already talking about the next visit to Blue Door. She enjoyed her special day and I’m soooo glad I chose the location!
I have to agree with other reviews. The restaurant is beautiful! The food was not good. I had an egg wrap. The eggs in it were so overcooked that they were brown and tasted super fried, almost hard. There was barely any cheese or bacon to be found. My friend had corned beef hash and said there was little corned beef so I guess they skimp on proteins. The service, while nice, was slow and absent most of the time. The food took too long to come out.
Only had brunch which is way overpriced for what they are. Bland and nothing impressive. Dishes and cups are really pretty though.
Always excellent food no matter what you choose. No attempt to hurry us, even on a busy Fri night. Desserts are yummy and can easily be shared! Noise level high, but could still talk to and hear friends at the table.
I’ve been to the restaurant twice, and was particularly disappointed with dinner yesterday. The management should pay better attention to the cleanliness of the place and to the training of staff. I hope the restaurant improves because I like the concept.
I’ve been here twice now and got the eggs and sausage both times. Unfortunately the eggs had no flavor and the sausage goes cold very quickly. I did mention the sausage to the waitress my first time there. Everything else was great..the service and the atmosphere.
Hostess walked away as soon as we arrived, no recognition, to apparently seat guests upstairs. She did not return for almost 8 minutes. In that time another 4 parties showed up, with some of them unable to get in the front door. The hostess stand is way too close to the door. She seated us, with no apology. Waitress was far too overworked. Appetizers arrived in good time, but there was over a half hour wait for entrees. Waitress did not explain the delay. The wait staff all seemed very overwhelmed. No dessert menu, or coffee was offered.
