Bottle & Glass Inn
Hand Cut Chips
Served with oyster mushroom, roasted onion, black garlic ketchup and hand cut chips
English Farm Beef Shin Croquette
roasted cauliflower puree, pickled walnuts and bone marrow
Had to send one main course back as the ragu was sugary and inedible. The portion was also quite small for a main course.
Reordered a steak and it came over cooked - rare and again was a small portion for £30.
Overcharged on the chips as we ordered a portion to go with the ragu but that was sent back…
Lovely location. Well chosen menu with locally sourced food, beautifully cooked and served by knowledgeable and attentive staff.
Great service, excellent food. A very well-trained and first rate waitress. The slight issue was that she was alone while 4 or 5 guys were in the kitchen. To get our bill I had to go to the kitchen and point out that we felt ignored by them while the waitress was running about taking orders and serving. Perhaps consider a slight change in the way things are done?
Very average food, but expensive. The sticky toffee pudding was stodgy and heavy - not pleasant at all.
Slowish service…. To be honest not worth the effort, been to better that was also much better value. I won’t be going back.
The burger Barn at the B&G is was good venue for an impromptu mid week burger - burgers were excellent, as were chips and we had a great bottle of rose.
Really lovely place to eat. Staff were great, food was outstanding and overall was absolutely fab. Would def go back !
Interesting menu, more adventurous than the usual pub fare. Good cask beer selection and nice wine list. Food was good and well presented with homemade sauces. Service was excellent.
We sat outside under a large umbrella as it was hot and sunny.
Nice to be back after a long time and to sit outside. Interesting menu. Everything looled attractive. We'll be back
A friendly place with good service and a nice ambience on the terrace. Staff attentive and helpful. Menu with good variety including vegetarian options. But quality of dishes can vary and be disappointing: Examples: the cured salmon starter was well presented and good. The main 'Fallow deer ragu' was dull, heavy and seemed reheated. Because of this variation the overall cost seemed high cf. some other restaurants. Could not wish to recommend without mentioning the quality variation although our experience is limited of course.
Always good quality food and service.
Although we had alerted the venue in advance that one guest required gluten free food, it was very disappointing that none of the four desserts on offer could be readily adapted to suit. I would not recommend this venue for coeliacs
Really good burger and even better fries. If you appreciate good food, even if it’s only a burger, this is a good one.
However be prepared for plastic cutlery and we had 2 drinks each plus a burger and fries which came to £60— seems expensive or am I out of touch with prices?
Love the location, great service, little on the pricy side. But overall thoroughly enjoyed and food was good.
Excellent as always. But please please source some vegan burger buns! They have them in Waitrose!!!
We have always loved Bottle & Glass! It’s slightly different from the usual sophisticated ambiance being in the barn and only being able to choose from the barn menu but it was fun and the kids loved running around outside! It won’t put us off coming again.
A very good meal in lovely surroundings. Very good friendly service apart from long wait for main course. A complimentary glass of wine was appreciated, but they should perhaps have made more of an effort to keep us up to date.
Great service and lovely cocktails made by the waitresses.
I do love this pub but…Food was very bland and under seasoned. I’m always disappointed if I could have done it at home much better..which I could have. More pickled radish and dill/creme fresh - needed some acidity to balance with the salmon. This could have been great but wasn’t.
I think of flat iron steak as being a tasty but tougher cut. So I chose this as I’m all for taste. But again so bland. Thought it would have a good chargrilled taste but flabby and no seasoning. Peppercorn sauce was oily and didn’t taste nice. On a more positive note the chips were great and the green salad tasty and well dressed.
Pappardelle ragu was good and tasty.
Lovely environment and excellent people and service.
I’ve had much better food here in the past . Perhaps it was a blip.
Still I did enjoy my evening.
Amazing burgers and Chicken Wings, loved the barn
At your prices I would expect proper glasses proper cutlery, proper plates and decent toilets
Brilliant atmosphere for the football. Thought it would be cold, but wasn’t at all. The service could have been a little better, but it was a busy night. They really need to invest in some decent portable loos though if it’s going to be a long-term venture.
Excellent venue the food is always amazing would highly recommend
Beautiful rural location, great for dogs. Shame the food was overpriced otherwise we would be back every week!
Food was ok but not above average. Prices were fair. Service a bit slow
We ate in the barn which is a lovely new addition to the Bottle and Glass. Service was excellent as was the quality of the burgers. We had a very enjoyable visit.
food was average apologies but £19 for a burger that was a bit processed and overcooked chips preprared obviously before was a little steep
Our overall experience was mixed - it was a Sunday in fairness so there were lots of families and it was perhaps busier than usual. Food didnt quite live up to expectation and staff were busy. It was still pretty nice but we feel another day would have been better.
Amazing service and food was fantastic, not our first time and won’t be our last. Thank you so much for a great meal
Great Sunday lunch.... Service good and Scotch egg to die for!!
Great burgers, great setting. It would be lovely to go at night when the lights are on and the fire pit lit!
Service was great and the burger barn is a great idea!
Great burger but would like to see the Pizza oven back on.
The ambience is perfect. My kids would love to see pizza and pasta as well on the menu.
We didn't have very long to eat which was such a shame. It was recommended to me and exceeded expectations.
Fab place for an informal family bite to eat - great quality food and nice drinks. Service is really good. Really enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back.
Very expensive considering you are eating in a barn and drinking from plastic cups
First time to B however I thought the food was “okay” (eg cold buns) - though chicken wings were good. Given this, value for money was perhaps limited.
A very enjoyable dining experience with excellent vibes. Would be a great venue for an outdoor wedding
Beautiful food and the staff were so lovely and very attentive. A really fantastic experience. Thank you!
We had a really good Father's Day lunch at Burger Barn. Well done to have transformed the space.
Felt like posh nosh at a festival with all the single use crockery and cutlery. Burger was mediocre. Couldn't tell it was venison. Was also overcooked. Bun disintegrated which made eating messy and unpleasant. Overpriced drinks in plastic cups. I won't be rushing back.
Burgers need to be better at the BURGER barn. Too much money for not very nice burger.
